Chapter thirty-five🐾

~Y/N POV~

It had been so long since I had been here again.

Since I didn't want to go back to the house at all just now, I managed to find my old home. My cave.

I was actually really excited about it. My own little fire pit was still in my cave and two big rocks I purposely took in for a little decoration and used them like seats. It was a different time yet I still felt safe to be here again. It was my first home of two years instead of travelling all over the forest. Many memories in this place of my life when it was wasting away. Almost like a distant memory now.

I was even more excited to have Jungkook and Jin with me this time. They had never seen it before so it was like I was showing them a part of my life before I was found. The look on their faces though when they first set eyes on the cave was something of what I was expecting. They were uncomfortable at first seeing how I lived for the last two years by myself but eventually made themselves at home.

Jungkook decided to go have some fun and go hunt some rabbits, claiming he hadn't done so in a while. I wanted to go with him and watch him hunt but Jin advised against it and insisted I stay with him so I did. Jin was making the fire from the sticks and twigs that I picked up on the way here, knowing that we would have to make a fire for the night to keep warm, not that I think the two hybrids would need it. More like it was for me.

Jin was squatted in front of the pit, stacking up the sticks while I watch him sitting on one of the rocks in this cave. Given what had just happened earlier I was very happy at this moment in time. It felt like I was back home again and I couldn't stop smiling.

"So this place is interesting Y/n. You actually lived here all by yourself?" Jin

I nodded, still smiling brightly, watching him continue with the sticks.

"Yes I did. Kinda cool right?"

I was actually quite proud of this place. It may have been very lonely but like I mentioned before, it was home.

"Yeah it's.....cool." Jin

He didn't look at me, but scowled at the pit. I knew he didn't mean that, he was just humouring me. He never liked the idea of me living in a place like this for so long, none of them did and here he is, witnessing the place I once called my home. But he wasn't being disrespectful about it, he was clearly keeping those thoughts to himself.

"Damn it. Jungkook has the lighter." Jin

He patted himself down at his pockets and I frowned, questions rising in my mind.

"Why would Jungkook have a lighter?"

"Oh. Because before our Dads came Yoongi tried smoking again so Jungkook took his lighter from him." Jin

I nodded, kind of believing him. Ive never seen Yoongi smoke, only on tv and that's how I know what that is but at the same time I could actually imagine that happening for some reason.

"Why would you need a lighter anyway?"

Jin positions himself to sit on his bum, crossing his legs over the other and glanced over to me. A defeated look spread across his face.

"So I could light the fire that's why." Jin

I rolled my eyes, to now get on my hands and knees to crawl over to the pit piled with sticks and twigs, taking two pieces of wood out the pile.

"I think you forget that I had to do this every day for almost for years Jin."

I laughed lightly. Placing the thickest piece of wood on the ground. Taking the second to push into the wood and then begin to quickly twirl the stick in my hands as fast as I could while pressing just as hard into the thick wood. Repeating the action over and over again. My hands to slide down the thin stick as I continue to twist and twirl the thinner wood between my hands all the while knowing Jin was watching me from across the pit between us.

It took a few moments obviously but in the end, a little spark came with a little puff of smoke created and I giggled to myself, making a mental note that I still had what it takes to make a fire without a lighter. Then with the smoke started to get bigger I threw the small piece of wood into the pit and then buried the thick piece of wood that had small emerging flames coming from it, into the pit also and took some leaves to place on top to burn and catch the fire.

Once that was done I sat back and watched the fire grow but Jin was just watching me, lips parted and most definitely surprised.

"See its easy."

I shrugged, looking back at the now pit. I only heard him hum back in a response but he crawled over to me on all fours and grabbed me just to pull me back from the pit, spreading his legs just to place me to sit between them but to keep facing the pit. My back was now pressed against his warm chest and his arms were securely wrapped around my shoulders to give me that added warmth.

It was actually starting to get dark now so it was getting much colder out here. Something I had forgotten all about but with the fire and Jin's warmth I think I'll be alright.

"I'm back. Did you miss me?" Jungkook

Now by the entrance of the cave Jungkook walked in, slumped over due to his height since the top of the cave was a little too low for him because of his tall height. Jin was no better when it came to walking around in here.

"No. Go away." Jin

Jungkook rolled his eyes, coming to sit beside Jin and I, already having two skinned rabbits in his bloody hands which to my surprise didn't bother me. The amount of times that happened to me, I lost count of so it was no big deal.

"Don't worry Jungkook. I missed you."

There was blush that appeared on his cheeks that I could just see thanks to the light from the fire and he purposely looked away to the rabbits sticking them on the two pointy thick wood sticks that I made years ago for the very purpose of cooking.

"I knew you would." Jungkook

He mumbled but still refused to look at me but now to hold the rabbits over the fire that was growing larger to a certain point.

"Anyway this was all I could find for now." Jungkook

"It'll do for the night." Jin

I watched Jungkook nod more to himself, sniffing and then turning this way to finally look at me but I just smiled at him. Jungkook recuperated the action by smiling back but then looked at Jin's position around me and then frowned.

"Are you cold?" Jungkook

Shaking my head I instantly denied it.

"No."

"Well I think during the night you should stay cuddled up to Jin like that. He would be better in keeping you warm than me." Jungkook

"I can speak for myself you know Jungkook but yes that's the obvious choice given I'm part polar bear here so I don't get cold." Jin

I laughed, pressing myself more into Jin's chest.

"Cuddly polar bear."

I mumbled but he heard it and nodded yet laughed too. Even Jungkook cracked a little giggle hearing that too.

"You're not the only one that's like that though Jin. Jimin can be like that too because he's a sn-" Jungkook

"Yeah, yeah. Jimin's a snow leopard we get that. Don't ruin my thunder right now Jungkook." Jin

"I'm just telling the facts." Jungkook

Jungkook shrugged and turned back to the rabbits cooking over the fire and brought his knees up to his chest but still keeping that firm grip on the wood.

"Actually speaking of Jimin is he related to Yoongi in some way? Or what about you Jungkook, are you both related to Yoongi? You all seem to have similar ears, kind of."

I pointed to the top of my head, signalling his own. Jungkook glanced at me, seeing my actions and then chuckled.

"No none of us are related by blood but I think we're kind of related in animal ways. I think, I don't know. Namjoon would be better in talking about that. I'm a cheetah, Jimin's a snow leopard and Yoongi is more of a just regular Leopard." Jungkook

"What's Hoseok then? I've spent all this time with him and I don't have a clue which animal he is. I never wanted to ask because I didn't want to be rude."

"He's a wild dog Y/n. Completely different from the regular dog hybrids out there which is why growing up in the lab he was counted as one of the favourites and they treated him the best out of all of us. Hoseok and his parents are the only wild dog hyrbids there is out there." Jin

Oh.

I'll have to look that up when I get back home OR I can just find the courage to ask Hoseok that myself. I'm sure he wouldn't mind right?

"I see. Well I know what all of you are now."

Jungkook laughed and yet nodded and I felt Jin peck the top of my head with his soft lips which made me blush but I quickly looked away so Jungkook wouldn't notice.

There was some more silence between us. The rabbits were still cooking and Jungkook was turning them over every so often. It was quite peaceful tonight and this was very relaxing I found but I ended up finding the silence being too much and just boring so I decided to break it with the first thought that came to mind.

"I met a hybrid boy out here once when I was seven. Well not here but by a stream a few miles away from here. He was the first I had ever met and I didn't even know his name."

I don't know why I suddenly brought up this boy from years ago but I just wanted to mention him because admittedly I still think about him every now and then.

"Y-You remember him?" Jungkook

I frowned to his stuttering and took him his body language. He was suddenly stiff and his eyes were wide as he stared back at me like I grew a second head.

"Yes I do. Not much of his face but little pieces here and there. He was really nice to me but after what happened with my Dad it changed things about the way I look at hybrids. That was until I met you guys of course."

But then I mentally cursed to myself for bringing up my Dad almost giving away what happened to him. I may have told Taehyung but was I really ready to tell everyone about it?

"Oh?" Jin

I nodded and forced a smile but kept a careful eye on Jungkook who suddenly turned away back to the fire and gulped. I could see that he had something going on in his mind that he possibly wanted to share with the rest of us but couldn't.

"Jungkook what is it?"

I tilt my head to the side, sitting up to get him Jungkook to look at me more directly but he just shakes his head still refusing to look at me. I sighed frustrated, pushing away from Jin just to sit beside Jungkook on my knees and place my hand on his shoulder.

"Please tell me what's wrong."

I spoke as soft as I possibly could, pulling off my puppy eyes towards him that I know he cant refuse. We only stared at one another in silence, is eyes never leaving mine for several seconds until he broke the eye contact to look down at my hand still on his shoulder and sighed heavily.

"Y/n that little boy was me." Jungkook
