Chapter six🐾

~Y/N POV~

I quite like Jin.

I like him a lot actually. I still don't fully trust him but it's a start.

After my shower Jin stayed with me and bandaged up my ankle and brushed my hair which had a lot of knots in it but he told me not to worry about it. He even stayed and we talked for a very long time. Jin told me about his life growing up, how the first seven years of his life he grew up in a human laboratory that did experiments on him. I was worried at first how he would hate me and I even questioned him for it but he said he holds no grudges to what happened. He tried to reassure me they weren't that bad, not as bad as it sounds anyway. I also learned how Jin is a polar bear hybrid. If it weren't for the nature picture books I had growing up then I wouldn't of known what a polar bear was. They're so cute and fluffy looking.

Jin proceeded to also told me that's how he met his friends, all the other hybrids that live here with him. They all grew up in the same lab and it was their parents that made the rebellion of hybrids against humans so their families are practically royalty now. To know that did not help how I was feeling and for sure now that I know that I'm so sure of myself that I will die but Jin did say that all of his friends are nice guys but he warned me to stay away from Taehyung.

Jin didn't say much about him but only that I should stay clear of him. Not that I plan to even leave the bedroom anytime soon, I'm so sure of it that I will die in this place.

Jin and I stayed talking and I talked to him about the last two years of my life in the cave. I didn't want to tell him about my family, not yet. I don't trust him enough to let him know anything about it even when he did ask. I just told him I didn't want to talk about it. I'm not ready to. For all I know he could want to find out to see if there are other humans roaming around somewhere, to try and butter me up to talk but there is no one so if they're only being nice to me for that reason then they are wasting their time.

Anyway after our long talks Jin decided to leave in the end. It was just nice to speak to someone for a while that wasn't myself. I appreciated it and I even thanked him for sitting and talking to me but when he left I heard a loud growl on the other side of the door that soon followed with a few more and some shouts. I even heard Jin shouting too so I just curled up in the bed, pulling the covers over my face and body to try and shield myself from the chaos outside the room. But when it went quiet again I soon fell asleep. This bed is so comfy, its a big change from sleeping in a sleeping bag which I still have in the cupboard. I haven't checked yet but that's what I believe at this moment.

I was deep in slumber when I felt someone lightly tapping my shoulder. I swatted them again and rolled over to my side away from the touch but I heard a chuckle and it made my eyes shot open and I sat up in alarm and breathing heavily but ready to fight off who ever if could be or at least ready to run.

Seeing who was standing there with a tray in his hands I exhaled in relief. It's only Jin.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you. I brought you food since it's now the afternoon." Jin

I nodded to him but weakly smiled at him, watching Jin bend down to the bedside table and setting the tray down and clasp his hands together as he now sits on the bed by the edge but sure to keep distance from me just like last night.

"How are you feeling today?" Jin

I just shrugged and took the glass of water from Jin as he carefully passed it to me. I thanked him for it and took a drink from it just so he could take it back from me and set it down on the tray again.

"I'm okay. My ankle just feels a bit stiff but other than that I'm okay."

"What about the bed? It's not the comfiest bed we have but I hope its okay." Jin

My eyes wide in disbelief. Not the comfiest?

"Are you kidding me? That was the best sleep I had since....since...."

I couldn't recall a moment which only makes me feel guilty that I hadn't because I know how mu parents tried the best they could and so did Heejin when she was alive. When Jin noticed my sudden sadness he just pressed his lips together and nodding not wanting to go further with the conversation.

"By the way I have a friend I'd like you to meet. He's harmless I swear." Jin

Jin was lightly smiling at me but staring at me as if he was asking permission if it were alright so in the end I hesitantly nodded and Jins smile only grew wider and he got up from the bed and walked out the bedroom just to come back seconds later with another much smaller man walking in behind him. Jin was still grinning ear to ear and walked back over to my bed but this time didn't sit down but stayed standing. I stared at the unknown man curiously.

The man gently smiled back at me as I stared him up and down. He was wearing black and white suit with a bow tie. I only know of these things through pictures my mom kept of my dad and her on their wedding day. It's what he wore but this suit this man wore was a little different compared to the one my dad wore. This man also had brown hair gelled back off from the front of his face, large brown and pink rounded ears on the top of his head and I noticed a very long, pink skinny tail behind him.

What kind of hybrid is this?

"Y/n this is our butler, Lee Kwan. I hope you could get to know each other more since Kwan here is a mouse hybrid. Like I said before he's harmless." Jin

Jin patted Kwans shoulder with a chuckle just to glance at the man and then back to me.

"Hello miss Y/n, its lovely to meet you." Kwan

He bowed to me, his hands folded over the other on the front of his body but all I could do was stare at him. He didn't look that much older than Jin to be honest, so he could remember how humans treated hybrids back then and hate me too.

"Don't worry about Kwan Y/n, he wouldn't hurt a fly. I just thought you could use a friend in this place, someone that isn't a predatory hybrid if that would make you more comfortable?" Jin

I didn't really know what to say right now but I nodded. It may just make me feel more comfortable but I do want to ask him a question though.

"Kwan, can I ask you a question?"

The man straighten up and only smiled with a light nod.

"Of course." Kwan

"What is your past experiences with humans?"

I watched how his eyes widen slightly but then returned back to their normal size. Jin just stood there watching Kwan in his response.

"It wasn't bad actually. I grew up in a human home with my parents and twin sisters. We worked for an elderly couple on a farm, it was quite pleasant actually. My family were always appreciative to them for giving us a home since most hybrids didn't have that luxury." Kwan

"So no problems?"

I was hesitant to ask but he chuckled at my question and shook his head.

"Oh no, no problems at all." Kwan

"Well Y/n if you every need anything just give Kwan a buzz. Usually I would say shout but I already suggested for the mean time that wouldn't be wise to go out and about." Jin

I knew what he meant so I nodded and reached over to the food that was calling my name. There was a bowl of fruit there so that was my go to food. I love berries, and thankfully that was what there was along with other things.

"I must get going since I have some work to go but Kwan here will stay to keep you company and the two of you can get to know each other some more. I'll check up on you later Y/n but ring me if you have any problems." Jin

He already began to walk to the door, glancing over his shoulder at me but I frowned in confusion with a mouthful of berries. I didn't get the chance to question him and Jin left the room leaving me alone with the mouse hybrid who pulled something out of his pocket and showed it to me. It was a rectangle shape with a glass on it and one button on the bottom and one on the sides. I never seen it before. It looked interesting anyway.

"This is your new phone Miss Y/n." Kwan

Phone?

I looked at him more confused and he smiled at me again, but this was a sad smile that didn't meet his eyes this time.

"Whats a phone?"

I eyed the object once again, inspecting it carefully and the man just sighed.

"Is it okay if I sit?" Kwan

He pointed to the spot on the bed that Jin once sat on earlier on the very edge of the bed. The fact that he asked me if it was okay, was nice and I appreciated that he didn't want to make me uncomfortable, well more uncomfortable than I already was.

"Yeah."

Kwan nodded and sat down on the bed but turned my way to show me the object that he calls a 'phone'. He pushed something on the side and the glass lit up like a light inside it showing numbers and a picture of some colours and such. I didn't know what to make of it but I found myself inching closer to Kwan to look at it more.

"This is a phone where you can call people or send messages to." Kwan

"You mean instead of shouting?"

Kwan nods and looks down at the phone just to swipe his finger across the glass and another bunch of colours and stuff in the glass appeared. I gasped loudly and I dragging myself closer to Kwan without thinking. I was truly fascinated by this.

"That's so cool, how did you do that?"

I noticed in the corner of my eye how Kwan looked at me, staring at the side of my face as I continued to stare at this so called phone. I could feel how he pitied me, he was sad to see me so excited over something I had never seen before but right now I didn't care. I did truly feel more comfortable with this man compared to Jin or Namjoon. I cant explain it but he just gives off this calming aura about him, like I can act however I want. Just to be myself around him and it's only been about a minute since we've been alone.

"I'll teach you how to use it." Kwan

I beamed at his words, smiling at him. My first proper smile and I was excited to learn something new. My first topic of the day, how to use a phone. Check.
