"No!" She flinched grabbing her boss's arms which was about to hit her and just like that Gabriel's action was stopped.

It took them both a second to realize what just happened but after they did the designer pulled back and apologized.
"I'm so sorry Nathalie please forgive me! I never meant to hurt you."

But she didn't reply, instead the assistant just looked out of the car window and sighed.

"Whatever. Let's just go!"
"Go? Go where?"
"I told you! I'm taking you home and then I'm quitting my job."
"But Nathalie! P-please d-don't!"
"Sir!" The young woman began and she was about to start arguing but before she could do so the terrifying sound of thunder hit a nearby tree and the ground shook for a second.
Gabriel quickly reacted and pulled Nathalie closer by laying both of his hands around her waist, as if he was protecting her from someone.
"Hush! We shouldn't stay here, the lightning could hit us-...I mean hit the car."
"Oh but sir-"
The young woman began speaking but she soon got shut up when her boss pulled away from the hug and got out of the car making his way to the driver's seat.
Then he grabbed his assistant and with a swift movement placed her onto the passenger seat so that now he adjusted the driver's seat for himself and started the car.
Meanwhile Nathalie just watched and before she knew it they came to a small rundown motel.
Perfect!
Here no one would recognize them plus they could also take shelter for the night.
So without hesitation Gabriel and Nathalie stepped foot in the building and went up to the table where a person sat.

The news paper covered his face, but when the designer's dark shadow leaped over him, the receptionist put down the papers in an instant.

"It's pointless to ask if you have two rooms, so I'll be happy if you even have one." Gabriel began as he slammed his fist down onto the table and impatiently waited for a response.
But he got none.
The only sort of muttering he received was the receptionist's quiet whisper:
"Here's your key sir."
"Impressive." The designer laughed in a devilish tone before turning away and whilst holding 'his woman' close he walked upstairs.

Soon the two adults found their room and when they entered it didn't take them by surprise to only find one tiny bed in the middle of the room.
So out of instinct Nathalie immediately sacrificed her comfort:
"I can sleep on the floor sir!"
"Yeah...about that...I'll also sleep on the floor. That bed looks awful!"
"Well then, the floor it is...for the both of us."

The young woman placed her bag right beside his, and sat on the stiff ground.

She looked around for a bit and after spotting a bunch of cushions which were laying in the dusty corner she got to work.
Nathalie ended up making somewhat of a mattress which was very unstable but at least it was a little softer to lie on than the cold hard floor. So after 'creating' that she grabbed some blankets and laid it on top of the makeshift mattress only to call that creation 'a bed'.

"I don't think we'll get much rest." She added after she finished to which her boss chuckled.
"Considering the fact it's 1 am, there's a really loud storm outside, and we're sleeping on the floor...yeah we won't get any rest."
"Still worth a try."

She sighed falling onto the cushions just like her boss so now their heads lied the same height and they were both looking at the ceiling trying to avoid eye contact.
Well after all this did work out and the adults never looked at each other that night but as Nathalie fell asleep she wished that maybe just once she could've shared a glance with him.
Just a little look on accident so she could know what he'd do. But now as Gabriel's were closed and he was probably asleep the assistant couldn't do much.
So she just thought about the summer weather and how it made sleeping impossible.
Everything felt like it was boiling in that small crusty room.
And before Nathalie knew it her boss was awake so now both of them laid back, facing the ceiling, using their hands as fans to ease the heat.
Once they noticed that both of them were suffering from the exact same thing the young woman tried to help by getting some cold water from the bathroom sink except that the water was so musty she immediately drained it away.
"F-fuck there's not even water here." Nathalie let herself fall onto the horrible cushions whilst it was now her boss's turn to try and save them from dying in this heat.

Gabriel stood to open the window, but as he tried to push it out the frame broke and a massive amount of dust covered him.
The grey haired man instantly started coughing uncontrollably, to the point where he fell to his knees, desperate for air.
As fast as she could Nathalie hurried to him and gently tapped his back so he could up all of the dust in his lungs.
"T-thank y-you." He quietly whispered after being able to breathe again.
"No problem sir, you're welcome."

But meanwhile these two were having their cute moment  the window was fully open so it was just making their situation even worse by allowing the bugs from the outside to come in.
And within seconds the small hotel room got filled with mosquitoes.

"Oh god damn it! Can't we just have a normal night!" Yelled the designer as he got bit by one of those annoying creatures. "I'm so sorry Nathalie this is all my fault! Because of me, we needed to run away, and I dragged you along with me, I'm so sorry."
"No...I should take the blame, you stayed at my apartment, and I should've known that idiot Kevin was going to do something stupid!"

Now Nathalie placed an arm around her superior's back and leaned closer to him so that her head was almost resting against his chest.
Almost!
