Yeah yeah I didn't update this either for a month, anyways enjoy this!❤️❤️❤️
After that night of talking the two adults fell asleep together, holdings onto each other, and never letting go. Almost even pretending that their relationship was pitch perfect, yet it was far from that.
Well, at least Gabriel tried his best to change and treat Nathalie the way she was meant to be treated, at least he had the motivation to adore her endlessly and provide both her and her potentially future child with all the love and support which he could offer, at least the designer wanted to change for the better.
"Nathalie I love you." He whispered fully aware that his assistant was sleeping, nevertheless he still said it again "I love you so much dear." Gabriel chuckled as he could see the woman's lips slowly curling into a smile. She was awake after all.
"I love you too sir." Now she began "I love you so very much."
"Glad to hear." The grey haired man returned as he placed a kiss onto Nathalie's head and continued to play with her hair by wrapping his fingers in it.
It was all so wholesome that as the assistant felt what her boss was doing she couldn't help but tear up a bit. He was behaving better, and just for her.
It made Nathalie feel special for once, and she never wanted that feeling to go away. So as fast as she could, she turned around, and went from laying her back against his chest to laying her head on the man's chest whilst wrapping her arms around him, protectively, or just lovingly.
"Gabriel." She whispered instantly getting his attention
"Yes Nath?"
"I'd like to ask you something."
"Go ahead." He continued "I'm listening."
"Alright...so...well I was wondering what we would say to Adrien...I mean...about 'us'...b-because if I do decide to keep this baby then we surely wouldn't hide it from him, right?"
"Right...I haven't thought about it yet though...but well I guess we'd just tell him, I'm pretty sure Adrien has nothing against it."
"Y-yeah...a-and t-then what about Emilie? I-I think I-I can still help y-you try to get her back b-but if I'm gonna be...more...uhm...pregnant...then I don't think I'll have enough energy."
"Oh Nath." The designer sighed as soon as he heard that, and then he shifted back on the bed so that he could lean his back against the frame of it and like that sit up.
"Nathalie you must be kidding with me!"
"I-...I-I I'm sorry sir-....I c-can t-try to help you all through b-but imagine how horrible a pregnant Mayura would look."
"NATHALIE NO!" He shouted all of a sudden, instantly scaring the assistant so that she flinched and got off of her superior as fast as she could.
"Sir I-"
"Nathalie that's not what I'm talking about! Listen! I don't need your help anymore!"
"Y-you d-don't?"
"No, I'm leaving you alone because you deserve absolutely no pressure or stress whilst you're going through this pregnancy. So please forget about ever helping me again. Those days are over. I'll find another way."
"I-oh-...s-so you'll s-still t-try?"
"Well-..." Gabriel sighed sadly looking up at the crushed and devastated expression of his employees who simply sat staring back at him with tears ready to pour out of her eyes as soon as she'd hear that "I can't give up Nathalie."
However, this time the designer didn't have the guts to say it.
Something in Nathalie's expression just made him unable to hurt her anymore, he couldn't do it.
So as awkward as it seemed, the grey haired man was looking at his assistant, his mouth slightly open to say something, yet nothing was said, so instead he closed it again, shrugged, and in his deep embarrassment Gabriel looked away, down onto the floor.
"I-...Nath I want to treat you right b-but I can't ignore the fact that I'm still in love with my wife! It's the truth and you deserve to know it." He whispered and then the designer got lost in his thoughts like always.
He knew he'd already put his assistant through a lot and she deserved the world for all that she'd done, except he was unable to give that to her, as much as he tried, as nice as he spoke and acted towards her, Gabriel knew that he himself would never be enough for his employee herself.
"G-gabe!" Nathalie's voice interrupted all of a sudden "Gabriel look at me!"
And so he did.
"Yes?" The man asked "What is it?"
"Well-...j-just k-know that I don't blame you! Y-you really love her and that's fine, it actually just shows how loyal you are...to her. So I understand." The assistant smiled with tears in her eyes that said otherwise "Obviously 'we' weren't meant to be-"
"-Nathalie-"
"-No! Don't worry." She cut him off before anything further could've come out of the designer's mouth, like an apology, like some comforting words. She didn't need none of that. None of those lies.
Nathalie wanted to speak her truth first.
"Maybe we'll work out...in another reality...maybe there...but this reality isn't ours...a-and y-you know that's fine. Love is like that. It isn't fair or nice. Sometimes it hurts and is the worst thing that anyone could ever experience. So I forgive you, you love who you love, I won't force you or try to change you. You are who you are after all, and Gabriel you'll always have a special place in my heart no matter what. Just remember that, okay?"
"I-..." he was left speechless staring at the dark haired woman in front of him who before he knew it got up and began to gather her work attire.
"I think it's best if I leave now though...this way I'll save the both of us from any embarrassing actions which we would definitely regret by tomorrow. So goodbye sir. See you again tomorrow at work. 7am sharp."
"No Nathalie wait!"
But it was already too late to say that.
She had shut the door and the assistant was out of the house a few minutes after that.
Gabriel didn't run to stop her, Gabriel didn't do anything.
So without anyone or anything holding her back, Nathalie headed straight to her apartment and didn't even think about looking back because she knew exactly that even thinking the slightest bit about her boss or the Agreste mansion would have her in tears.
Adrien, Emilie, Gabriel.
Anything including these three would crush the woman down, so she had to distract herself, she had to find someone better.
Yet unfortunately the only other guy in her life besides her superior was her stupid landlord who most definitely had a criminal record.
Nathalie strongly believed that Kevin should've been in jail from the second that he was born, or at least sent to some psychiatric hospital.
That guy was the definition of a psychopath in every way possible, so the fact that he owned a whole apartment complex would've shocked anyone, even the fact that he wasn't already the most wanted criminal shocked Nathalie.
But then again she thought of Gabriel, and after realizing that he was only worse than her landlord, she couldn't help but cry.
To be continued-
