Chapter 38
2017 (Y/n)
Time had seemed to slow down for you since it's the new year of 2017. "Pippin! I'm bored!" Pippin looks up at you then lays her head back down. "Well fine." You pouted at your dog. The snow outside was barley falling since you lived in the city so it melted when it landed. Flipping channel after channel, nothing looked interesting.
You would've hung out with your best friend today but she's working. You two would hang out when you had holidays off. Lonely on Valentine's Day, yet again.
"Food." That's what came to mind so you got up and walked into the kitchen. "Lets see......nope.....nope.....nope...." You did go grocery shopping but again it seemed boredom washed over everything you did. "I need something to happen." At that, you grew a distant and sorrowful face. Sighing sadly and walking back to the room, you flopped on the bed. "I wish I never said that to you Tadashi." Tears fell subconsciously from your eyes like you've done when had a small thought about HIM. "I miss you."
Knock. Knock. Knock. You sat up reluctantly, wiping your face before going to your down. Pippin had already beat you there and she barks happily at the door. Not having a clue why she acted like that, you opened it, making sure to hold Pippin back and looked out to see no one.
"Hello?" You stepped out, only to hear something crumble under your foot. "Huh?" You bent down and picked up something that's wrapped in heavy platic. Pippin squeezed by and sniffed before panting happily.
"Mm. Since you agree it's fine then I'll open it." You smile, petting Pippin's head and she woofed lowly. Back inside, you walk back to your room. Unfolding the plastic, you froze in place. Your eyes widen at what you now held in your hands. "M-My book." (Fav. Book. ) had creases on it but not too damaged like it was well taken care of. "No. It can't be it." You laughed gently to yourself, opening it to look through the pages.
The sound of paper gliding on the floor, caught your attention. It must've fell from one of the pages when you flipped through them. Your eyebrows furrowed at the tiny note. Writing was written on there but since you didn't quite look at the words, you could make out the neat handwriting on top. The only thing that seemed out of character of the first was the scratchy writing on the back like the person was in a rush.
Suddenly, your hands shook and your blood ran cold along with nervousness. What you read in neat handwriting.......the handwriting that you knew so familiar with......Tadashi.
'(Y/n),
Time can never get in the way. I love you and that will never change. I miss you, (y/n). I will always be waiting for you. The cafe is where I wait and stare out the window, hopeful I get a glimpse of you strolling by. Even if you forget me. I will never forget you. You're the one who told me to never give up. I'm waiting.
Love,
Tadashi H.'
You started to cry silently though you were smiling. "That dork always makes me smile." Wiping your face, you sniff and turn to the back of the note.
'Don't come to the cafe. Waiting wasn't worth it and it never was. Please don't go to the cafe, (y/n).'
"I don't understand." Everything had become mixed emotions inside you. "He wants me to come but then he doesn't." Annoyance and anger filled you. "You know what? I'm going to see him. Waiting isn't a privilege anymore." That thought made you happy but it disappeared quickly as it came. "Why didn't he stay at the door when he dropped this off?"
It became quiet. Thoughts floating around and colliding in your mind. "Valentine's Day....." Again you felt happy, a smile appearing on your face. "I can surprise him!" You got up to getting ready to head to the Lucky Cat Cafe.
