Ross II
Skylar
After a couple of minutes, we went back inside to talk to the guys. Alesa sat next to Adam, Jess next to Jason, and Shelby sat next to TimTim. Barney was setting up a movie which would leave me left with Max and Ross. I looked at them deciding what to do. Jess saw me looking and gave me a silent thumbs- up. I nodded and sat in the space between Max and Ross. As soon as I sat down, I felt at ease. Adam yelled, "Yo Barney, how long does it take for a grown man to put a DVD in a DVD player?" Barney groaned. "How long will it take to shoves an Adams in a DVDs player?" Everyone laughed. Barney stood up. "That should be it. I'm on my ways home. Good night everyones." Everyone said goodbye as the movie started. Shelby turned off the lights and everyone giggled and whispered as the previews rolled. I grabbed a blanket from the couch and wrapped myself with it.
The first several minutes of the minutes went by smoothly. The gang laughed at the first few jokes and everyone was enjoying themselves. I, however, was not. Max was staring and smiling at me the whole time. Sometimes I would smile back but I didn't feel like smiling. Ross, on the other hand, was not all paying attention to me. I know he could feel the tension between him and Max so he did nothing. His behavior made me want to start talking now. All I had to do was figure out how. Minutes later, Ross stood up. "I'm gonna use the bathroom." He walked away from the living room. Now was my chance. Although, I can't make it obvious that I want to talk to him so I need an excuse. And Alesa gave it to me. She noticed Ross being gone so she said, "Skylar, can you grab me a drink." I nodded and stood up. Then, Jess noticed. "Me too, soda please." Then Shelby. "Me three." Alesa grinned to herself. "Also, can you pop some popcorn? The packs are in the cabinet next to the microwave. "Got it." I replied. I turned around and headed to the kitchen, silently smiling to myself.
After I gathered all the drinks, I headed for the cabinet. When I closed the cabinet door, I heard the kitchen door open. I turned around quickly. Ross was standing there and nodded at me nervously. He went to the coolers and grabbed some drinks. Now's your chance. I placed the popcorn in the microwave and started it. Then I casually turned around and hopped on the counter. I looked at my jeans. I sighed. Here I go. I looked up at Ross. "Um, hey. So you haven't been talking to me or made direct contact with me for the past couple days. I just wanted to know, like, what's up?" He shrugged and rummaged through the cooler. I arched my eyebrows. "Is there anything wrong? Are you mad at me?" Ross shook his head and pulled out a drink. "You can tell me anything, you know, I'm your friend." Ross ignored me. Then I got frustrated and jumped off the counter. "Ross, just because someone tells you, you can't talk to me, doesn't mean you should listen to them." He turned around. "You know about that?" I walked around the counter. "I was listening to your conservation. Do you really think I wouldn't notice this or wouldn't care?" Ross turned around towards the cooler. "Well, I thought you would be fine with me not talking to you. I mean, you are just moving in to the offices so you should focus on your work." I crossed my arms. "That still doesn't mean you ignore the new girl. Especially if that girl wants to talk to you." He closed the cooler and grabbed a bottle opener from the cabinet drawers. I rolled my eyes and walked towards him a little. "Ross, Max shouldn't be able to manipulate you like this. Your an adult! You can make your own decisions." Ross continued to ignore me while he opened some bottles. "Ross." He did nothing. "Ross!" He just shook his head and headed for the door. I ran up to him and stood in front of the door. He sighed. I looked at him. "Ross..." He looked at the ground. The microwave beeped and I walked away to grab the popcorn. I glanced at Ross to make sure he didn't go anywhere. I placed another bag in the microwave and started it. I walked up to the counter and placed my hands on it. Ross slowly turned around and placed the bottles on the counter. He looked up at me. His facial expression made me concerned. Then, he sighed. "You didn't hear everything after that."
