Chapter 30 | France and Family

[Chapter 30 | France and Family]

The ride to France was long and tiring. They didn't speak much, only some chats every now and again but that's about it. Most of the time Fuyumi stared out the window and conversed with Jun sometimes, asking about her life and her and Kyoya. Kyo slept most of the time and Akito did his best to ignore everyone else, be it by listening to music or reading a good book.

The four all walked together in the place they were staying. It wasn't a hotel but small house that looked nice and cozy. Though it was small and seemed ordinary it was expensive.

"So!" Kyo said as they walked into the lounge room of the home. "Where's Kyoya so we can go get him?"

"No idea." Akito said.

Kyo stopped in his tracks and looked over to him, brows raised. "We came all this way...and we don't even know where in France he is?"

"Pretty much." Akito leaned on the wall, watching the other male.

"WHAT?" Kyo was outraged. "Christ- How will we even find him then?"

"We will find him." Jun butted in. "We didn't come from Japan for nothing, Kyo. It'll be hard to track him down exactly but we'll manage."

Fuyumi sighed almost dreamily. "Jun, I admire your spirit. You're going to be a great sister when you and Kyoya get married."

"That's assuming that they'll get married." Kyo quickly said.

"Anyway-" Akito got off of the wall and walked over to them. "We have people here that we know and have connections, I already told them that we need to track down our family. They're our best bet."

"And what if they don't come through?" Kyo asked.

"Then we'll search France all by ourselves, got it?" Akito said, slightly annoyed. Yeah, Kyo and him were going to get along just fine.

Fuyumi glanced to the clock on the wall. Four in the afternoon. "We should go out somewhere, all of us." She said, looking back to them. "We should go out and eat together as a family."

"Fuyumi, they aren't related to us." Akito sigh.

"Not yet. I have faith in these two. I have faith in Jun and Kyoya." Fuyumi nodded her head. She looked over to Jun. "Not everyone would come to France and announce their secret in front of the school for the one they loved."

Jun's heart raced at that. Fuyumi had such fondness in her eyes, truly believing the words she spoke. It was beautiful. "... Yeah, we should go out somewhere." She murmured, unable to help the heat on her cheeks.

Fuyumi lit up. "Good, good! I have a nice place in mind for us to eat at. Let's unpack first then we will go out and eat as a family."

Kyo yawned. "Yeah, okay." He stretched his arms and spun around, walking to the room he had claimed while they were going to live here.  Akito rolled his eyes and walked off too.

Fuyumi gave Jun a wide smile before she too walked off, her walking quick because of her excitement.

After they left, Jun took out her phone and looked down. "Or we can call and ask him..." She murmured, calling Kyoya's number. She lifted the phone and put it to her ear. There wasn't any ringing, just a robotic voice.

"This number has been disconnected."

Anger flashed through her eyes. That bastard Yoshio. She gripped her phone tight before relaxing her grip and shoving her phone into her jean pocket.

Yeah, he was going to pay.

She was going to find Kyoya and make his father pay.

A last test.

[Unknown location, Kyoya]

Kyoya walked out of his room, dressed nicely in black pants and a light blue button up shirt, it's collars lifted up a little, covering most of his neck. "Father." He walked into the room his father had chosen for their stay here.

Yoshio lifted his head, looking up and over to his son. "Yes?"

"This is unnecessary." Kyoya said.

"So you've told me." His father replied with a sigh. "Jun is just a teenager, she doesn't deserve this. This is too much for her. You shouldn't of taken me to France. I've heard it all from you, Kyoya. There is not much more today and there are no new answers you will receive."

"Do you think she will come all this way?" Kyoya asked.

"For you? Yes." Yoshio looked out the window and to the sky. "There isn't a lot of people who have the look in their eyes like her."

"What does that mean?" Kyoya rose a brow.

"Determination. Utmost determination and the will to follow through what she wants to do or what she is willed to do." He answered. "Kyoya. After this, there will be no more."

"There will be no more what?"

"There will be no more conflict."

[Restaurant, Jun]

After they all packed, they had headed out and gone to a real nice restaurant, one that was very expensive. Jun protested going because obviously she couldn't pay, meaning Fuyumi and/or Akito had too, but they didn't listen to her. Kyo on the other hand had no real problem with people paying for his food. Hey, free food.

Finally, they all sat there and ate together. It was silent but the silence wasn't uncomfortable. It was a normal, comfortable silence between people who were close or who were meant to be close. A silence between (almost) family.

"You want to know a story, Jun?" Fuyumi spoke up, breaking the silence. "About Kyoya?"

Jun swallowed the food she had in her mouth and looked over to the older woman. "A story about Kyoya? Well, alright." She nodded her head.

Fuyumi chuckled. "When he was little, really little he probably can't even remember, I used to put some of my girly products on him and he loved it."

Jun's eyes lit up in amusement. "Really?"

"I remember that." Akito spoke up. "I was walking out to get something to eat and suddenly Kyoya is there with some blush on his cheeks and a hot pink scarf."

Fuyumi laughed and Jun chuckled. "It was quite funny." Fuyumi beam.

"You treated him like a barbie doll!" Akito sighed rather dramatically.

"Because he was a pretty barbie doll." Fuyumi grinned. "Oh, Jun, don't tell him I told you that, since I don't think even he knows."

"I won't, I promise." Jun smiled. It was nice to hear stories about Kyoya, even if the stories were silly and comedic like this one.

In the corner of Jun's eye, she saw him. Raven black hair and glasses, sitting down at a table with other people her brain didn't even bother to try and identify. Her eyes widened and she quickly turned her head and body around to see him properly but of course, it wasn't him.

It was an older man that looked like him.

A sigh left her lips and she turned back around with eyes that were dull though a second ago they were lit with amusement.

"What's up?" Kyo asked as he stuffed food into his mouth.

"Nothing, I just thought I saw something." Jun started to eat the rest of her food.

She missed him incredibly. There was an emptiness that only Kyoya could fill in her heart and without him the emptiness was deep and terrible.

Did Yoshio really have nothing better to do then try and ruin the love life of two teenagers? It was like he was some villain in a really bad teen comedy or cartoon.

If this really was a test and it was her last test, what will happen if she passes? She couldn't help but wonder. Would he come around or will he just try something else? Probably the second option.

After that they just ate and spoke while they did so, telling stories and such.

It was nice, even if Kyoya wasn't here it was nice.

Fuyumi was a nice person and so was Akito, well, when he wanted to be. Kyo too, he seemed to be fitting in more easily then Jun had originally assumed. Slowly it seemed the pieces of this puzzle were all coming together yet at the same time it seemed like they were so far apart, widely spread and that was only because of Kyoya's father.

Jun came to Ouran for education but she found so much more.

She found love in Kyoya and the host club, who were like family.

"I love the host club and especially those who come to see me there everyday."

She found friendship.

"You two are best friends. That's why you spend so much time together."

She got memories which she could keep and laugh at forever.

"It was funny actually watching you, Jupiter."

She got moments that made her heart race.

"Be more careful, okay?"

Ouran had changed her life and brought her so many amazing people. Ouran brought her the host club, Lobelia and Kyoya most of all.

Ouran was family and nothing can tear family apart.

Not even Yoshio.
