Chapter 27 | A Last Attempt
[Chapter 27 | A Last Attempt]
There was a knock at Yukimura's door. She got up off her bed, quickly fixing her hair then going to the door, opening it a little and peeking through the crack. "Daddy?"
"Yukimura. May I speak to you?" He asked.
"Yes dad..." Yukimura opened the door, letting him in. "Is anything wrong?"
"I have heard from...people that you are not interested Kyoya." He spoke. People? Yukimura wondered who exactly told him. "Is that true?"
Yukimura swallowed and looked down. "Ah, well...y-yes but..."
"Yukimura, why didn't you tell me?" He sigh. "You know I only want what is best for you?"
"You do...?" Yukimura looked out. This was her chance. Her chance to help Jun and Kyoya! "I-I don't want to be with Kyoya, I want to be with another man... Kaoru! He was one of the twins at the party..."
"Is his family of wealth?" He questioned.
"Yes! They are extremely wealthy." Yukimura quickly replied. "So can we...can we stop this engagement?"
"Yes." He nodded. "With them going to off together for the rest of the year," What little they had left before the next year. " I don't think it would work out with us here anyway."
"Yes..." Yukimura smile slightly, nodding her head. Her eyes then widened when it clicked. "W-Wait. Going? Going where?"
"I am not sure but they're going off. Yoshio wants to spend time with his family as well as do business over where they are going." He explained to his daughter. "And he hopes it will work out with his son, get him away from the commoner and have him think."
Yukimura's eyes widened further. "Oh no...!" She rose her shoulders. "Father. When are they leaving?"
"Tomorrow."He nod.
"I must go warn her!" Yukimura said, going to leave. He stepped in her way, shaking his head.
"I cannot let you do that, Yukimura." He snatched her phone out of her pocket. "We know you are friends with her too, I was told not to let you leave. I'm so sorry... When they leave we will be going back home too for awhile." He walked out, closing the door.
"N-No! Dad!" Yukimura went to the door, trying to open it by jiggling the handle but it didn't open as he locked it. "Dad, please!" She yelled. She couldn't believe this. Her father doing this to her but most of all, Kyoya's father taking him away!
This was his last attempt.
"I'm so sorry Jun..." Yukimura said softly, looking down and leaning on the door. She had this information but she couldn't help. She couldn't do anything and that was the worst feeling. "I am so sorry..."
[Next Day]
Jun woke up and yawned, sitting up and stretching her arms. Ah, for some reason she was super tired, like she hadn't slept at all. "Tired..." She hopped out of bed and instantly went into the shower. She got dressed in a purple dress with a black jacket that stopped under her chest and black shoes. She brushed her hair before going to her phone, checking her messages.
She had about fifteen missed calls from Kyoya. She blinked in surprise and picked it up, putting it to her ear. It rang and rang and finally he answered.
"Hello?" His voice came from the other side of the phone.
"Hey, it's me. What did you want to talk about? I've seen all those missed calls." Jun said, a little worried.
"My father is taking me on a trip with the rest of the family to France." He said. "I think it is to get me away from you." He said.
Jun's blood practically started to boil. She was so angry. " What...?" She muttered. Her mother walked into her bedroom suddenly.
"Jun. You got another letter like the one before..." She said softly.
"Hold on Kyoya." She said, taking the letter from her mother and placing down her phone. She quickly opened it. It was a letter this time from the same person.
' This is my last attempt and this is your last test.'
That was all it said.
Angrily she scrunched the paper in her hand. "..."
"Jun?" Her mother furrowed her brows in worry.
Jun got the phone and brought it up to her ear. "Kyoya. This will be the last time." She said. "I won't let him stop us from being together anymore. When will you leave?"
"We are leaving in an hour." Kyoya replied. "First a car from my house then to a private plane."
"I'll be there." Jun quickly said. She hung up and looked to her mother. "Mum, I'm going to go. I'll be back soon." She quickly walked out.
"Jun?" She called out, following. "Jun! What is the matter?"
"I can't explain right now, just trust me." Jun quickly called up a taxi before leaving the house, waiting outside. Quickly it came then she left.
She arrived there in about twenty three minutes. She got out of the car after paying. She went to the already opened front door, walking in. "Kyoya?" She called out. "Kyoya!" No one responded.
After doing a quick search of the couch she found...
They had already left.
She stood there, wondering why they left. Did Kyoya get the time wrong? Did he lie? Did his father just leave early to avoid Jun? Why leave the front door wide open? "...This is...too much."
Suddenly Kaoru ran in with the rest of the host club. "Kyoya!"
They stopped in their tracks when they saw Jun. "Jun-chan?" Honey furrowed his brows. "You know?"
"Yes, he called me." Jun nodded.
"He called us too..." Tamaki spoke up sadly. "And it is not only him but Yukimura was forced to go back home with her father."
"One piece of good news is that the engagement is off though." Kaoru added in, glancing to the side.
"..." Jun stared at them then away. She was at a loss. "What do we do?"
"I..." Tamaki stared at her sadly. He looked around the house and to the hosts. "I...don't know." He said, looking back to Jun. He really didn't know.
Last test? What exactly was she supposed to do? Go there? Also why is this suddenly called a test? Was he testing her before this? Is this what it's about?
There was no way she could go after him all that way... It was too far and her family would never, ever allow it. She looked down. "Kyoya..."
Kaoru stared at her. He felt as if he really felt the pain she was feeling at the moment and all the emotions that came with it. He went over to her and hugged her, bringing her face to his chest. "It's okay." He said. "It's okay..."
She hugged him in return, not saying a word.
He gently held her, looking down. His heart raced at just this. Feelings for her still lingered and the small ugly side of him saw this as a chance but he wouldn't do anything. He did like Yukimura, even if his feelings for her weren't as strong as her feelings for him.
Honey watched them sadly. He looked up at Mori who had a blank face with eyes that hid sorrow then to Hikaru who watched them with a sad expression and Tamaki who was looking down, wishing he could do something to help.
Kyoya was his best friend. They got along extremely well and he had never seen him with a girl, a girl he loved so much, a girl like Jun who was his best friend while at the same time being his girlfriend.
Jun was a good friend too and a wonderful host. Even as a girl, he hoped she would come back to the host club in the next year. God knows they'd need another person or two, since Mori and Honey would be out of school then, though they promised to come visit. Maybe their brothers could join.
Meanwhile, at Jun's home...
"No, I'm sorry she isn't here. She just rushed out...something was wrong." Jun's mother explained.
"Ah, I see..." Kyoya's older sister Fuyumi said. She had visited Jun's home with Akito. "We just need to speak to her regarding her boyfriend."
"Here, tell us when she comes back, yeah?" Akito gave Jun's mother a card with their phone numbers on it. She carefully took it.
"Oh...Okay." She nodded. "Will do."
"Thank you." Fuyumi smiled, quickly leaving with her brother. They got in the car. They didn't go with Kyoya and the rest of the family. They managed to get away. "So much trouble...I hope we can help. It's a shame she wasn't there, I really want to meet her..."
[GOD DAMN IT YOSHI]
