Chapter 14 | Misdeed

[Chapter 14 | Misdeed]

"I have been told she is looking for the sender to return the money." She said.

Yoshi Ootori looked up from his desk to the sound of his assistants voice. "She's not taking it?"

"No sir." She shook her head. He frown and looked away.

He wasn't pleased.

Not at all.

"Jun-kun? Junnnn-kun?"

Jun snapped out of it and looked to her customers who looked at her with worry. "Was I spacing out again?" She asked. The customers nodded sadly. "Ah, I apologize. I'm just trying to figure things out about that envelope..."

"Well it is strange...we don't blame you!"  One of her customers smiled wide. "I do hope we find out who sent that..." The other girls nodded their heads in agreement.

"Me too."

"Jun can I speak to you?" Jun looked up at the voice. It was her teacher. She got up and walked over to him. "Jun, your grades aren't the best. What happened?"

Jun blink slowly. "What? I've been doing well, sir."

"Well I've been looking through your work and it's not like your work earlier in the year." He explained. "If you don't get your grades up you will be kicked out of Ouran, you understand that don't you?"

"...Yes sir." Jun replied. He gave her a nod then walked away, out of the host club. Jun didn't know what to think at the moment. She had been getting better. She was studying everyday and learning more and more but yet...her work was worse?

Kyoya walk up to her. "I heard what happened from over there." He said. "Have you been lazing around?"

"No, in fact I've been studying more than ever. I mean, I was studying the night I got the money even." Jun explained. "I don't know what's going on, Kyoya." Kyoya's eyes narrowed at that. He believed her, of course he did. Jun was hard working. She wouldn't ever let her grades fall.

"Hm..Well then, we'll just have to check that won't we?" Kyoya took out a key ring that had many keys on it. "I have copies of all the keys in the school just for situations like this." Jun look surprised.

She slowly smiled, her eyes lighting up. "You never fail to amaze me, Kyoya."

Kyoya smirked at that.

Kaoru watched from a distance as they got along. He wasn't pleased.

After the host club had finished, Kyoya told the car to wait while he and Jun went and finished cleaning in the host club. That was a lie obviously.

They made way to their classroom. Kyoya took out his keys and unlocked the classroom, walking in with Jun. He closed the door behind them. "He keeps the student work in the drawer on the right." He stated.

Jun immediately went to the drawer and opened it. She took out the papers and looked through it, spotting her work sheet with her name on the top and took it out.  Kyoya walked over to her and silently looked through the work with her.

After a moment of silence  Kyoya spoke up. "All your work is right." Every single one. He looked through the papers and found another one of Jun's worksheets. "Even on this one, all is right except the third question."

Jun felt her blood starting to boil in anger. Was the teacher lying? Why? Did the teacher not like her at all and that's why he was doing this? Or was there another reason? "Why then...?" She looked through more papers and all her work was good.

"..." Kyoya looked onto the teachers desk. "Isn't this envelope like yours?"

Jun looked up and to the envelope on the teachers desk. It was opened up but nothing was inside, but it looked exactly like hers. "It's just like mine." She grip the papers in her hand tight.

"If I didn't know better I'd say someone was out for you." Kyoya said. "But who?"

"And why?" Jun added.

There was chattering in the hallway, which caused Jun to panic as she thought they were about to get caught. She quickly went to move but bumped into Kyoya, causing both of them to fall over and the papers scatter. She fell on top of Kyoya, her wig falling off in the process along with her cap and going onto the ground. It has a habit of doing that.

When she realized what had happened, she took note of their position. She was on top of Kyoya and their faces were close.  Her hair draped over her shoulders. She was about to speak up but Kyoya signaled her to be quiet and so she did.

The chattering soon passed, it getting fainter and fainter as the people went further away from them.

"..." Jun slowly got off him. "Sorry." She apologized, her cheeks a light red. "That was my bad, I panicked."

Kyoya got up off the ground, straightening his uniform once he stood. "It's fine. We should go though, before we do get caught." He pick up Jun's wig and put it on her, his touch gentle as he did so. "There."

Jun smiled at him. "Thanks."

Kyoya's cheeks too couldn't help but turn a light, very faint red. He pulled away. "No problem. Come on." They put the papers back before leaving, locking the door again and walking down the hallway with him.

He then took her home and they said their goodbyes.

On the way to his home, Kyoya looked out of the window, filled with worry. He didn't know why but he wanted to protect her, keep her safe.

He really liked her but to Kyoya, it's all about his family and money.

There was no merit for his family if he chased his feelings for her, his developing feelings. Just like he had stated with Haruhi. Dating or marrying her would have no merit but yet he didn't know his father wanted him with Haruhi.

He didn't know his father wanted Jun out of the picture, though if he found out..what would he do?

He always wanted nothing more than to make his father happy and proud. If his father wanted the girl he cared for away...who's side would he go on?

Merit was important, but Jun was too.

"Why do that to her grades, sir?" Yoshio's assistant asked.

"It's a threat, Kyomi." He replied.

A threat.

[What's his problem tho. Don't worry. I won't let it go too serious~ Yet.]
