Chapter 13 | Letters

[Chapter 13 | Letters]

Akira walked inside from getting the mail from the mailbox, a blanket wrapped around her. She hummed a song as she looked through them and stopped at a fancy letter. "Oh...?" She read the front. "Ah, Jun. You have a letter!" She went to her daughters room.

Jun looked up from her book. She was studying. "A letter? Did I hear right?"

"Yes." Akira smiled at her and walked over to her, handing her the letter. "Looks fancy. Maybe it's from one of your rich friends...?"

"Maybe." Jun examined the letter before opening it. Once she opened it, a bunch of money fell out. Her eyes widened. "Money?" She mutter. Akira said nothing and just stared with wide eyes.

Jun looked in the letter. She then turn it upside down and more money fell out. There was nothing but money inside it. "What the hell?" Jun furrowed her brows. She  look at the letter to see who sent it but it didn't have a return address nor a name of who sent it.

"Jun...What is this about?" Her mother asked, worried.

"I don't know, mum. Maybe one of the hosts sent it as a prank..though..only Kyoya knows where I live..." Jun replied. "Kyoya wouldn't do this..." She gather the money and put it back in the letter. "I'll talk to him tomorrow at school." It was night now.

"Okay...but if you get into any sort of trouble, tell me, okay?" Akira said.

"Yes, mum. I promise I will." Jun replied. Akira smile softly at her.

"Good..Now i'm going to bed. Goodnight. Don't stay up too late." Akira gave her a kiss on her forehead and then ruffled her hair before leaving.

"Night." Jun watched her go. She looked at the envelope before going back to studying.

The very next day she went to school with the envelope in her bag. Instead of just going to class early, she looked around for Kyoya but of course  bumped into Kaoru, who had a habit of just popping out of nowhere.

"Not going to class?" Kaoru questioned.

"Not early this time, no." Jun replied. " I need to speak with Kyoya. Have you seen him?"

Kaoru put a hand on his hip. "Nope. Haven't seen him yet. What do you need to talk about?"

"Ah well, last night my mother came in and gave me a letter that was sent to me, though it had no words in the envelope..it was filled with money. A lot of it." Jun said. She reach into her bag, taking out the envelope.

Kaoru's eyebrows furrowed. "That's strange..." He took the envelope and looked at it. "No return address?"

"No. I have no idea who sent it and Kyoya is the only one out of you all that knows where I live." She pointed out. "I don't know anyone rich outside of Ouran either." She sigh." Most of all I just want to know why..."

"Maybe someone just saw how poor you were?" Kaoru blink. Jun glared at him. He put his hands up in surrender. "Joking. Joking. Anyway I was wondering--"

"Ah. Kyoya is over there." She spotted Kyoya walking with Tamaki and ran up to them after taking the envelope from Kaoru. Kaoru sighed softly and watched her go."Kyoya. Can I speak to you?"

Kyoya stopped in his spot. "What about, Jun?"

Jun looked to Tamaki then to Kyoya. "Last night I got this." She held out the envelope. "It has nothing in it but a lot of money, and I mean a lot."

Kyoya rose a brow. He took it and peered into the already opened letter, looking through the money. "Strange." He said. "You don't know who sent it?"

"No idea." Jun said.

"Well we can always put this towards the ho-"

"No." Jun took it from him. "This is somebody else's money. I don't know why they sent it to me but I want to give it back."

"They clearly don't want it back." Kyoya pointed out."

"And I clearly don't want the money." Jun put the envelope back into her bag.

"You're a strange one, Jun." Kyoya said, making Jun roll her eyes. "Anyway, Jun-"

"Jun!" Kaoru ran up to her. "You left while I was talking." He pouted at her.

"Sorry." Jun apologized.

Kaoru put his arm around her casually. "It's fine. Anyway I uhh..." His cheeks went a light red. "I was wondering if you'd like to go out sometime like...hang out."

Jun rose a brow at him. "Hang out?"

"Y-Yeah! Uh--- because well--- On the weekend, Hikaru is taking Haruhi somewhere! Well, they're going to commoner places." Kaoru explained. "I want to watch over them and I'd be bored if I did it alone so you can tag along..."

"HIKARU IS GOING ON A DATE WITH MY DAUGHTER?!" Tamaki was outraged. "I won't allow this! Not again!" Again?

"I agree with Tamaki. It cannot happen." Kyoya said, but not for Haruhi's sake. Kaoru looked surprised and was about to question it  but as if he read his mind, Kyoya explained. "I don't want to be annoyed by Tamaki if it happens."

Well, that was understandable. "Fine fine.. but we should go to class, yep. Let's go Jun. I'll walk you." He quickly dragged her away. Once away, he looked to her. "So you in?"

"I guess so?" Jun rose a brow.

Kaoru grinned. "Awesome." He said. " You don't have to dress up as a guy though."

"Won't Haruhi recognize me though?" She questioned.

"Oh, we won't be with them up close...just from afar." Kaoru grin.

"So we're spying?"

"Basically." Kaoru replied.

"...Fine. I guess so." Jun said. "I need a break from studying anyway." Something she thought she'd never say, but she did enjoy hanging out with Kaoru and well, anyone really from the host club.  She pulled away from Kaoru as they got to her class. "I'll see you at lunch."

"Yeah, see you then." Kaoru grin, walking off.

"He's trying to steal your best friend." Tamaki said as he started to walk with Kyoya again. Kyoya just sighed at him.

"Do you think she took the money, sir?"

Kyoya's father looked up from his desk to his assistant. "She's a commoner, of course she did." He said. "This is just one plan. If she takes it, I will go up to her and offer her more in exchange for her dropping out of Ouran and cutting off communications with Kyoya."

"But Ouran is everything to her." His assistant said. "A good education is what she's after, yes?"

"Yes, but forgetting that..we've learnt Jun is very close with her family from your research." He got up from his desk. "The money would make her family happy. Family comes first for her."

His assistant looked surprised. "You're right, sir.."She nodded her head in agreement. "So she would give her family a better life, not caring about her education."

"Yes, but that's just what we're assuming." He said. "We need to know more about her. Do what you have to do to find out more." He looked to his assistant.

"What if she doesn't take the money?" His assistant asked.

His brows furrowed. "...Then I will threaten to expose her." He said. " I will offer to anonymously pay her debt and send her to another school if she cuts off ties with Kyoya and Ouran or...I will expose her for who she is in front of the whole school."

His assistant got an idea. "Christmas is coming. Doesn't the host club organize a Christmas party? There will be many there..." She said. "There you can do it."

He nodded his head in agreement. "She will be expelled from the school and because she lied to a school like Ouran, her chances for getting into other high education schools will be low. I'll make sure they know of her. "

"You're brilliant , sir." His assistant praised him, but he didn't pay attention. He just looked out the window with an expression as cold as ice and cold thoughts to go with it.

He wanted Kyoya's possible future wife to be Haruhi. He wanted it to be like it was before it came. Haruhi a possible bride and Tamaki, a good influence on his son.

His son hadn't been himself and he knew it was because of his new found friendship with Jun.

"Sir.. Kyoya knows of her, yes?" His assistant asked.

"Of course he does." He replied. "And if I didn't know any better, I would say that he had feelings for this cross dresser." He wasn't pleased. "We can't let that continue..but for now, we lay low. Keep up your work though, find out everything about her. Everything."

[It's getting serious up in here.]
