(Y/N)'s house

I was watching news on the TV. Someone once again threw a challenge against Leon and got squashed by his charizard. Nothing really surprising... I was going throught channels when mom called out that someone is at the door. I went to open it and came face to face with one of my childhood friends, Paul.

Paul : You ready? Hop said that his brothers comes home today and want us to meet up with him at the bridge.

(Y/N) : Yup! Just gotta grab my bag.

I went for my bag, it's not the biggest one but I can still pack some things in it. Mom called out that we'll be eating at Hop's place tonight to celebrate for Leon.

I followed Paul and we stood next to the bridge exchanging small talk as a quite a large group of people gathered near station and started to welcome Leon already. I looked at the road and saw Hop speeding towards us with Gloria behind him. They quickly ran over to us and looked towards the station.

Hop : He's here! Finally!

Gloria : P-Please... Slower...

Paul : Seems like Gloria's outta air, give her a second Hop.

Hop : But my bro is right there!

(Y/N) : Right? Not like he'll walk past us without noticing. Besides he might get lost on the way home...

Hop : Alright...

Seems like we don't have to wait for Gloria to take a breath since Leon did his famous pose so that everyone can cheer about it while he walked over to us with a smile. Afterwards he headed towards us and Hop of course went ahead to greet him first. In but a minute he was next to us with a wide and quite silly smile.

Leon : It's nice to meet Hop's friends!

Gloria : Wow, we're talking with champion...

Paul : So far, you're only staring and mumbling.

(Y/N) : It's nice to meet you as well!

After quick introduction we went to Hop's place. On the way Hop just keep on bugging Leon about a present he brought for him, to which he answered that he got something for all of us. Once we reached Hop's yard he called us closer before releasing four Pokemon out and letting them investigate their surroundings.

There was a bunny, who was probably fire type seeing that once he started to run around he left fiery pawprints.

A blue lizard-like Pokemon that went into the pond and decided to have fun there.

A green monkey-like Pokemon that climbed the tree and pulled out a stick out of it's fur before banging a fruit.

For the final was a fox-like creature with brown fur and cream coat around it's neck. It started to sniff before looking at us but soon joined the bunny in running around.

Leon quickly explained that bunny's name is Scorbunny. Lizard is Sobble, while monkey is Grookey. The fox is an Eevee that holds Metal Coat and doesn't want to let it go ever since he got it...

Gloria : Who is picking first?

Paul : Well, Hop goes last., that's for sure.

Hop : That's only fair since I already have my Wooloo, besides they're all cool to me so whoever's left will be me partner!

Paul : Girls first?

(Y/N) : Fair.

Gloria looked over the Pokemon that stood in line, each following her every move. She stopped in front of Sobble before picking it up and smiling softly which also earned her a small happy call out from the Pokemon.

Leon : Alright... This is Sobble is female.

Gloria : Neptunia!

Sobble nod it's head before winking at the readers.

(Y/N) : So, how do we do this?

Paul : You know damn well~

He put his fist against him open hand and looked me in the eyes. I smirked before taking a stance in front of him.

Paul / (Y/N) : Rock, paper, scissors!

Paul : Ha!

(Y/N) : What's with my luck?

Paul : Let's be honest, this was a battle between two people with close to zero luck.

He walked over to the row and didn't even hesitate when he picked up the Scorbunny who smirked and called out to it's new trainer.

Leon : Female, if you're wondering.

Paul : So, how does Cinder sounds?

In response he got a lot of happy call outs and paw waving but when she noticed Gloria and Neptunia looking at Paul she glared so much that even I felt it.

I stepped out and looked at Eevee, it's maw shaped into a smile as it's tail wagged. Come on, you're playing on my emotions. Don't do it to me... I can't resist the cuteness...

I picked up the Eevee that cried out happily before jumping out of my arms and onto my shoulder where she snuggled against my cheek before lapping on it causing me laugh.

(Y/N) : Okay, okay... That's enough. We're having a girly squad here so I'm naming her Artoria.

Thankfully I hit that it was a girl as she propped herself on my shoulder before jumping on the ground, when she raised and danced around I was sure that it's a girl... Funny enough thing about is that in a lot of regions it's not a common knowledge that Pokemon have genitals much like humans and sometimes there is quite a shock among trainers when they find out... One way or another...

Hop picked up Grookey and named her Amelia. Afterwards, Hop decided that we should battle. I was against Gloria while Hop boosted about how he's gonna beat Paul with his two Pokemons. It didn't end well for him...

(Y/N) : It's just a little practice, Gloria, no need to worry.

Gloria : Our first Pokemon battle...

Neptunia : Wow, my trainer is soooo confident.

Arturia : Have faith in her and give me your all.

Neptunia : Please don't aim for the face...

The battle was quick, especially since Arturia already knew quick attack which left Neptunia laying on the ground with swirly eyes. I chuckled as Artoria stood there proudly before marching over to my legs. I leaned down to pet her which was met with happy yelps. Leon laughed a bit and quickly healed all of our Pokemon.

Afterwards we just had a bit of fun while our mothers came over to prepare some BBQ. We ate and when we finally got tired after much interaction with our Pokemon we decided to head to sleep, we all bunked in Hop's room so it was a bit cramped but it was fun nonetheless...

But I still can't belive it. I finally have my Pokemon... I glanced at Artoria that was laying on my stomache and breathing loudly. I guess we can take part in the Challange... It's gonna be a blast. I can finally try to become the Pokemon Trainer and travel around Galar. Hm, wonder what else will I find on my journey?
