Chapter 9 : Food Fight!

The dining hall wasn't like any other dining hall. It was like entering a grand hotel restaurant. The crystal chandeliers, a huge red carpet with the same floral designs on that covered the entire hall, flower pots here and there, huge arch windows, candles lit around the walls, different coloured lava lamps and on the ceiling were stars and moons in yellow that glowed. The tables were rounded tables with beautiful black clothes on top that had the same stars and moons in yellow as a design on it. The chairs were nearly placed around these rounded tables.

But, that wasn't the best part. The best part was, the tables were filled with different types of food. Yes, if all the different types of food from around the world were to be placed in one restaurant, then this is the right place to find food like that. The moment we stepped into the hall, Aoi ran towards a table right at the corner near one of the arch windows. The table happened to be filled with desserts and a few other cuisines. He went for the chocolate for sure.

Aoi is someone that hates chocolate. Note the sarcasm there. Yeah, if he were to go to Charlie's chocolate factory, Aoi would turn into a huge 16 feet tall chocolate ball. He's a sucker for chocolate. This is why you never take him out to a candy store. NEVER! I mean never take him there or he'd finish your first day pay from your part time job in just that minute.

"Oh hell yeah baby! This is what I call heaven right in the palm of my hand!" Aoi screamed with full excitement as he stretched his arms wide.

The whole place got silent for Aoi's reaction and for the loud voice that in just a split second everyone started laughing like they hadn't laughed in years. I was the only one who didn't, as I knew Aoi better than anyone. Rue, who had been adding cupcakes to her plate, suddenly stopped when she spotted Aoi. I swear, to how her mouth was open in an 'O' a fly could have even gotten in. Enzo, who was beside her munching on some Nachos, had to close Rue's mouth while laughing.

She suddenly placed her plate down on the table with a loud thud and speed walked towards Aoi, flipping her black hair behind as it got to the front.

"Omg! You love chocolates too?! Me too!" Rue exclaimed with excitement that it surprised me to see this side of her.

Aoi, who was busy swallowing down a third chocolate ball, screamed at the sudden appearance of Rue next to her as she even had her black hair fall in front of her face. He almost tripped and fell on his butt if he hadn't maintained his balance by holding onto one of the chairs.

"Oh fudge nuggets! What the hell is wrong with you women? Showing up like that scared the shit out of me! I almost got choked with that chocolate ball I just ate!" Aoi exclaimed in surprise as he placed a hand over his chest to stop his heart from beating fast to how scared he got of Rue.

"I asked whether you like chocolate too!" She asked in a calmer tone, though there was a hint of excitement to it.

"Of course I love chocolate, what do you think I was doing right now!" He exclaimed in annoyance as he went back to deciding on what to eat next.

I sighed as I just walked towards the table, while Xin and Key followed me. Rue and Aoi started to get along as they mostly started to talk about different types of chocolate they liked. Enzo joined the table as well. His eyes were mostly on Rue and I knew there was something going on between both of them. As I was pretty hungry, I looked for something to eat. I need to fill my stomach before I chit-chat with the rest of my gang.

A table next to the table where Aoi was, I spotted some dumplings. Since I had a liking for Chinese cuisines, I walked up to the table, grabbed myself a chopstick and was about to eat one when that spring roll of a poop-head Lana appeared into my vision. Before I could grab the dumplings, she grabbed them and handed it over to Bri. Hello! Excuse me! I was the one who saw it first! She just flipped her hair and gave me a smirk. Total bitch much! Since I didn't want to start a fight here with all the food, I just ignored her and looked for another to eat. I spotted some mooncakes next to a noodle bowl and was about to grab it when Lana grabbed them faster than me. That's it, I have had enough with this bitch. Mooncakes were my favourite and no one should ever dare to steal them from me.

"That would be mine thank you!" Lana exclaimed in a sassy tone that annoyed me and made me frustrated.

"I saw them first! What have I even done to you to make yourself do this to me?" I asked her with my hands fisted to the sides.

"Don't you remember me, Ms-Know-It-All!" She smirked as she placed her hands on her hips.

Those words suddenly got to my head to process when I was reminded of the girl I met in 7th grade. She was the girl that was new and was a transfer student from France. She wasn't pretty good at English back then and children used to make fun of the way she spoke with her French accent. At some point, whenever she used to talk, I used to laugh a little but that was unintentionally. Once when she was being laughed at, without the bullies knowing, I spotted my homeroom teacher and acted as if I needed help with a subject. I did that so that he could see that some girls were bullying Lana and he did see it and rushed to help her. If I helped her, why is she being all rude to me? That was the main question.

"Why are you doing this to me? I never did anything to you!" I exclaimed with so much confidence in my tone.

Her smirk face turned into an expression that made a shiver go down my spine. Can I say, this was the first time I got scared of someone like Lana. Suddenly, I felt this huge rush of powerful energy and it was coming from Lana. A glow of green flames started to circle around her like an outline when she directed her left hand towards the noodle bowl. As I stared, I watched the bowl levitate off the table and as she directed her hand towards me, the bowl floated towards me and when she put her hand down, the bowl dropped down on my head, spilling all the noodles on me.

"You used to laugh at my accent! So Ruby, I practised day and night to master your accent! It wasn't easy! I was always invisible to people and no one cared! You didn't even help me most of the time! You were like the rest of them!" She screamed in anger as I felt her emotions.

But regarding not helping her, I always did help her. It's her fault for not noticing that. She didn't even know what I was going through myself back then. At least I did try to help her and I did. Why couldn't she see that? Is she blind? My blood boiled as I realized that me being too kind to people will in return only make them angry and to hate me. I spotted this huge bowl of soup and grabbed it. It was quite heavy, but I managed to hold it. I speed walked and just threw the huge bowl of soup on Lana. She screamed and fell on her butt. As I looked around, I didn't realise we had created a huge crowd.

The more everyone stared at me, emotions inside of me went a bit uncontrollable as I started to slowly walk backwards. Just as I was about to sprint off, I saw Luca and Rose. Rose had a shocked expression while Luca didn't look happy to see the sight of me. My hands grabbed on to the necklace and as I turned towards the exit door and started to run. As I ran, I heard Luca call out to me and heard his fast running footsteps. Before my eyes could close shut and imagine my room to leave, I bumped really hard into someone.

"My goodness child! What happened to you?"
