A/N: long time no see my friends but don't fret I'm finally updating lmao. But anyways I recently hit 510 followers and I just wanted to say thank you so much for everyone who takes their time to read my stories and everyone who actually presses that follow button lol. Anyways enjoy!!

"How'd you get into this mess?"

"What do you mean?"

"The war...everything."

"It's a long story."

"I have the time."

"Well I don't."

And that was the end of one of the many conversations Jyn tried to start during their long ride. It was obviously no use to try to converse anymore so she tuned herself into the sounds around her.

The crunching of the leaves, the wind through the branches, the sounds of frenzy and screams.

Screams!

"Cassian..."

"Jyn I already told you, I —"

"Cassian! No time to talk! Run!"

"What —"

He turned around for a small moment and Jyn watched as his once calm features morphed into a face of pure panic.

"K2! Faster!"

Listening to the sound of his breathless voice the horse's pace got much faster. Jyn doubted he needed to go that fast but felt as if the horse was going that extra mile so that the possibility  of Jyn falling off his back was higher.

"Slow down!"

"Sure of course...if you want to get killed! K2! Faster!"

Jyn made a face before wrapping her arms around Cassian tight. He made a sound of annoyance but didn't make an effort to move her arms away.

Cassian knew how to prioritize. To him escaping from an enemy that'll kill him and capture Jyn seemed a lot worse than getting aggravated at the touch of a girl he couldn't exactly stand in that moment.

But then again the contact hadn't bothered him that much. But that was something he'd never find himself admitting.

Shaking off the temporary feeling Cassian decided to focus on the main problem at that moment. The fact that he was spotted by the enemy was the problem.

A big one at that.

"I see a cave!"

"What?"

"I see a cave, it's in the distance. Think we could make it?"

"I hope."

Jyn nodded and the two headed towards the right side of the clearing, their eyes towards the cave on the side of a mountain.

"Do you see them behind us Jyn?"

"Not at the moment but maybe they're hiding? Either way we can't slow down."

"I know that."

Jyn didn't reply, and the two didn't say much after that. There wasn't time for talking either way. It was a race for their lives, there wasn't any time to waste.

"Are we almost there?"

"Yeah."

"Good."

Jyn took one last look behind her and immediately regretted it.

The eyes of the head of the group caught hers. His stare was brooding and harsh. But Jyn saw past the glare, for in his eyes was recognition.

He knew who she was.

That her name was Jyn Erso. That she was the daughter of Galen Erso and that terrified her.
