Chapter 3

A/N: so sorry for the long wait for the next chapter! I've honestly been so caught up with homework and other stories but here it is!

"So Cassian Andor? That's your name right?"

"Yes..."

"I have a few questions for you."

"And why is that?"

Jyn crossed her arms over her chest, still maintaining eye contact.

"I'd like to know more about the man that kidnapped me."

"I didn't kidnap you, I rescued you and if it was up to me I'd return you to the cell you came from."

She didn't reply instead deciding on narrowing her eyes at him. Jyn would've knocked him off his high horse right then and there but he had mentioned her father, and she was desperate to find him.

"You mentioned my father?"

"I guess I did."

"What do you know about him? Where is he?"

Cassian chose not to answer, instead deciding to take interest on what was scratched onto the cave walls.

"Where's my father?"

"That's information you'll find out when we get to the Rebellion."

Jyn started to get up from where she was sitting, pulling her thin jacket over her.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"I'm leaving."

"It's dark outside."

"So? If you're not providing information then I might as well leave."

"You can't do that."

"Watch me."

And with that she was gone but only for a few minutes. He heard an "ouch" and the sound of a body hitting the ground before peaking his head outside.

Jyn was sprawled out into the dirt, a look of pure anger apparent on her face.

"Get your horse under control."

"That's what happens when you try to escape Jyn, now come inside it's cold."

"You can't make me."

"Well, if you want to freeze to death or catch another disease be my guest."

Cassian headed back inside the cave, settling by the fire as he took his armor off. A few moments later Jyn came back inside.

"Back so soon?"

"My father is what's most important and I need to find him."

"You will, I promise. But not until we get to the Rebellion."

She nodded, the fire's light dancing across her face.

"We should go to sleep soon, we need the energy for tomorrow." Cassian pushed his armor off to the side before curling up on the ground.

Jyn followed suit, laying down opposite to him. The fire continuing to burn throughout the night.

That night she couldn't sleep. No matter how many times she closed her eyes, they never remained shut.

Her thoughts decided to keep her awake. Jyn tried to imagine the life she had been taken from.

In the fire she imagined the sight of her mother, lying on her deathbed, the marks of the bubonic plague apparent on her skin.

"Stay strong for me."

Those were her last words as she strung a crystal onto Jyn's neck. Her hand reached for it, the smooth surface bringing comfort to her.

With her mother dying, her father turned to The Empire, exchanging his brilliant mind for medicine.

Galen Erso should've know they were up to no good.

But it was far too late, Jyn's mother died the next morning and Galen was taken away.

"Be safe, Stardust. I will find you again."

The sound of his voice flooded her ears once again and she was filled with a new found determination.

Jyn will find her father.

And with that thought she finally fell asleep.

A/N: sorry the chapter is a bit shorter than usual, it's more of a filler and I have homework to work on today but I hope you liked it <3
