After you read
Here we are, once again, at the end of a 35 chapter journey saying farewell to yet another book as we gracefully ease into the third and final part of Selene's turbulent story.
I'm writing this on a cold, cloudy Sunday morning, sitting on my dining table with the faint but sweet fragrance of boiling stew wafting through the crack on my kitchen door. I could think of no better way to pass such a marvelous time than to write my parting remarks and finally end this book.
I began this book earlier this year with the full intention of ending Selene's journey once and for all. However, this is not the case. Once again, as I approached the final chapters, I began to realize there was a lot more I hadn't done and couldn't do in one book. Thus, the third part of this story was born.
As October gradually ripened into November and I began to pen down the final parts of this wonderful book, I couldn't help but remember the promise I made to myself last year during the pandemic that I would participate in the 2021 NaNoWriMo.
For this reason, I decided the project I would work on during the 30 Day writing sprint would be the last book in this trilogy. I'm pretty sure that by the time you'd read this, not only would the sprint have ended, but I'd have also put plans in place to begin uploading the final book.
First of all, I'd like to appreciate my readers for their never-ending support. I began this year with little or no expectations however, I can clearly say it was one of the most difficult years of my life.
For the readers who closely followed this journey every week, they would have noticed that my schedule began irregular and at a point, I stopped writing all together.
As consistency is one of the traits I believe I possess, you can imagine I was deeply troubled by this. Yet at the same time, I couldn't bring myself to find the enthusiasm and energy I once possessed.
I got so detached from Selene's world that I considered deleting the book altogether and perhaps my Wattpad account since I began to believe the story wasn't worth writing anymore.
Thankfully, I got out of the funk and decided I wouldn't leave any stone unturned. I've never been one to start something without finishing it.
I'd begin releasing the final book in 2022 as a good omen for the new year. I can sincerely guarantee it would be one of my best books ever!
Thank you all, once again for reading, sharing, and voting on the chapters of this book.
Till we meet again
~MenteMelan
