Main Characters

Xiao Zhan (20)

is half-human and, what he didn't know, a half-vampire. He grew up with his mother and godmother. Although he never had a father he never minded not having one. He loved his mother even though he thought of her as a little too overprotective. For some time he suddenly felt strange and thought that something had changed without being able to explain what exactly it was. He felt restless, listless, and he felt that something was missing, something important. He also tried to figure out how to break up with his girlfriend without hurting her. And as if it wasn't enough trying to solve the normal problems in his life, he suddenly had to cope with the fact that his mother has become a murderer.

Wang Yibo (1220)

is a strong and smart vampire. He is the youngest leader in history, leading the secret organization working for the royal family. His job is to make sure, Vampires comply with the rules and, if not, investigate who did what wrong and punish them for it. When the organization found out that there were two murders allegedly done by a human, even though the way the humans were killed points to a vampire, Wang Yibo begins his investigation.

Wang HaoXuan (20)

is Xiao Zhan's best friend and college mate. After it was revealed that Xiao Zhan's mother has murdered and his godmother had kicked him out, he allowed his best friend to hide at his father's house while his father was not at home. Little did he know that all these years his father had someone locked up in a secret cellar in that house and once he met that person, he strangely felt attracted to him.

Song Ji Yang (912)

is a Vampire who was abandoned right after he was born. He grew up in a foster family consisting of old vampires who never really cared about him. Once he came of age, he left that house and never returned, finding the life of normal humans more interesting than the life of a vampire. For several hundred years he traveled the world until he settled down in Shanghai, deciding to go to college and study medicine. When his college friend found out about his identity and asked him to turn him and his wife into vampires, he had to reject it as it was strictly forbidden. Unfortunately, his friend didn't accept a no and soon he found himself locked up in his friend's cellar.

Side Characters

Luo Jin (8.777)

is the King of the Vampires and Xiao Zhan's father. He never knew about Xiao Zhan's existence nor did he remember having ever laid with someone else than his beloved wife, the queen. The moment he found out, he felt so heartbroken and guilty to have unknowingly cheated on his wife, that he locked himself up and wouldn't want to see anyone. That only stopped when the queen tore down the walls and made him face the reality. Despite the guilt he felt, he loved Xiao Zhan and was happy about having a son who had many older sisters.

Tang Yan (7.777)

is the Queen of the Vampires is confident and bold and loved her husband like no one else. She and the King are bounded for life. She always was slightly disappointed for only being able to give birth to daughters despite knowing that no one, the least the king and her father-in-law, minded that fact. After finding out about the existence of Xiao Zhan she never once felt betrayed or cheated as she knew that one day, her husband had to lay with someone else to have an heir. She accepts Xiao Zhan as her own and would go against anyone who would try to harm him.

Xuan Lu (6000)

is the first-born daughter of the King and Queen of the Vampires and Xiao Zhan's oldest sister. Even though many of her younger sisters had already gotten married and settled down a long time ago, she still thinks marriage is not a must for one to become happy. After finding out about the wonderful news of having a little brother, she tried her best to make Xiao Zhan feel at home.

Wang YiZhou (14000)

is Xiao Zhan's grandfather and has abdicated as King of the Vampires to spend more time with his many granddaughters. He lives mostly in seclusion and only comes out from time to time to check on his son and his daughter-in-law. Albeit he disliked the current queen before and never approved the marriage between her and his son, upon finding out that the queen had a genetic defect and could only give birth to daughters, the king changed his mind and accepted her right away as in the past daughters were a rare sight within the royal family.

Zhu Zhanjin (9590)

is the adopted son of Wang YiZhou and the King's older brother. He always felt inferior to the King despite receiving a lot of love from his adoptive parents. No matter how smart he was, how good his swordsmanship was, or how many good connections and awards he had, he never had the chance of getting the title of king for he might be the oldest but had no blood relation to the royal family. Knowing that he had no chance of approval or acceptance he run away from home and no one ever heard of him again. Until now...

Liu YiFei (9000)

is the wife of Zhu Zhanjin and her life was followed by misfortune. She fell in love and married the Japanese King of Vampires when both just came of age. The young couple was madly in love but a tragedy killed the King, leaving behind his queen and his yet-to-be-born child. She tried to take her own life to follow her husband but was found and stopped by Zhu Zhanjin on time. He made her change her mind and helped her through the loss of her husband as well as her pregnancy. Unfortunately, the child was born dead and the Japanese Queen would surely have tried to kill herself once more if she hadn't Zhu Zhanjin at her side with whom she had slowly fallen in love and soon married.

Zhao Liying (38)

is Xiao Zhan's mother who loves her son more than anything else. Xiao Zhan's father was her first and only love and even after years of not seeing him, she was never able to forget him. Realizing the gift he, although unintentionally has given her upon leaving, she knew that, even if everyone was against it, she would keep it and protect it until the end. She always knew that Luo Jin was different ever since she slept with him and she also knew that something was special about Xiao Zhan. When she finally found out what exactly it was, she didn't mind her son's nature at all but decided to protect him at all costs. Even if that meant being separated from him forever.

Zhao Lusi (40)

is the best friend of Zhao Liying and the godmother of Xiao Zhan. She and Zhao Liying became friends in high school and were inseparable ever since. No matter what happened, she would always be on Zhao Liying's side. When one day the latter decided to sacrifice her life for that of her son, Zhao Lusi started to distance herself from Xiao Zhan. Although she started to hate her godson, she had promised her best friend to never tell anyone, the least Xiao Zhan, the truth of her sacrifice and to watch over him until Zhao Lusi was sure he didn't need protection anymore.

Feng MingJin (40)

is HaoXuan's father and a scientist. He fell in love with his wife when he was 18 years old and married her with the promise to put the world at her feet. Unfortunately, their marriage started on not good terms as they had a car accident that made his wife turn blind. Despite this accident, both were happy. Things however changed when his wife was diagnosed with cancer with no possibility of cure. He was heartbroken and tried his best to create a cure for cancer with no results. He almost lost hope but then a stranger approached him, revealing the existence of vampires and that Feng MingJin's college friend, Song Ji Yang, was one of them.

Lee Min-Ah(19)

is Xiao Zhan's girlfriend whom she dated for three years. She fell in love with Xiao Zhan at first sight. She is madly in love with him and knew right away that he was the one person she would marry once she finished college. When she slowly realized the strange behavior of Xiao Zhan, who seemed to distance himself from her, she got scared and feared she would lose him if nothing happened so she decided to risk everything and seduced Xiao Zhan, hoping once they did spend the night together, everything would turn back to normal.
