Mother's Advice

Izuku stared down at the dirt path before him, lost in thought as he walked down the familiar road to the house in which he grew up in. The faintest hint of a smile was on his face, his scarred hands gripping his bag tightly as he mentally checked off landmarks in his mind. His jade colored orbs found the small cottage almost immediately through the thick cover of greenery, his grin only growing larger as he sped up his pace to a slow jog. When he stepped up onto the stairs leading up to the door, he let his bag fall from his grasp, freckled fingers curling into a fist, slowly rising up to touch the wooden entryway lightly. Withdrawing his hand a small bit, he sighed, finally knocking twice.

He heard the small yip of a dog inside, his heart filling with joy as the nostalgic sensation of his childhood filled his mind. "Coming! " His mother's voice rang out from inside, before the door opened slightly, the plump form of his mother peeking out. "I-izuku? " She asked in disbelief.

"Mom, " He said with giddy filling his tone.

"Oh, Izuku, Sweetheart! " The Omegan woman lurched forward, arms capturing her son in her tight embrace. "I missed you so much, honey! " The two hugged for a few minutes, before Inko was practically dragging the boy inside their home. Izuku chuckled at his dam's actions, leaning against the wall to pull his boots off. When finished, he placed his bag near the door, subconsciously holding the red cloak closer to his body as he sat down on the old, beat up couch. A cup of steaming tea was placed down on the table in front of him, the curly haired boy pulling his legs up into a crossed position, before taking the warm cup in his scarred hands. "I thought you weren't going to visit until next month, dear! Why are you here so early? If I had known, I would've prepared your favourite meal! Oh, I might have the ingredients for Katsudon-"

"Mom, " Izuku broke her out of her thoughts with a small laugh, "You're as bad as I am! " Izuku joked, bringing the tea up to his mouth and taking a long sip.

"Sorry, dear, I'm just happy to have you home! " She gushed happily, before her nose twitched, a frown forming on her face. "What's that smell.... Is that... Alphan pheromones?" She asked, placing her cup down on the table as she stood, sitting next to her son. She pulled back the collar of his shirt, nostrils flaring as she inspected his scent glands. "Izuku, you reek of Alpha!" She exclaimed.

"Mom, it's not what you think," He said calmly, his mother looking at him to continue. "There's... There's an Alpha courting me... " His dam's eyes softened, her hands coming up to cup his face.

"Who is it, sweetheart? "

The curly haired Omega sighed, shifting his gaze away for a few moments. "It's... The king, " His words were a mere whisper, the silence becoming overwhelming.

Inko's eyes widened as she stared at her pup, "The... The king? " She asked, earning an anxious nod. "Honey, that's.... But what about..."

"I-i know... Mom, I don't know what to do... " He began to cry, his mother wrapping him in her warm embrace once more.

"Izuku, how do you feel about him?" She asked gently, rubbing her hand up and down his back in a soothing manner.

"I-i don't know! I'm so confused! After what happened back then.... " He sobbed into the woman's chest, hands fisting her coat.

"Izuku, " She spoke softly, "Look at me," She said, watching as her son slowly met her eyes. "I know what happened in the past was heartbreaking.. But Katsuki, he's changed, I'm sure. He didn't know how you felt about him when you two were little, if he did, I'm sure he wouldn't have left like he did," She spoke calmly, brushing a curl out of her pup's face. "He had to take his role as King, he didn't have much of a choice, he had to leave."

"But... I don't think he even remembers me... It's so hard pretending like I don't know him, or that I don't... Love him, mom.."

"Izuku, what has he done for you so far? Is he treating you well? What has he done to court you so far? "

"He's... Well... He's gifted me these... Expensive nesting materials.... " He mumbled, his dam nodding for him to proceed. "And... He gave me clothes and supplies for my journey here... As well as... His cloak, he said it was to keep me safe.. "

The pudgy woman's laugh rang throughout the room. "Goodness, he gave that to you as a sign for other Alphas to know you're taken! " The plump Omega chuckled, kissing her child's forehead, before pulling away. "Kiddo, I assure you, from what I've heard, his intentions are pure. Let him in, talk to him about what happened in the past. Try to come to an understanding with each other's feelings. "

Izuku nodded, wiping his tears with a small smile. "I should get cleaned up, it was a long trip.. " The greenette muttered, standing from the couch and heading towards his old bedroom.

The freckled Omega pulled the blood red cape up to his button nose with a deep sigh, eyes fluttering closed as he breathed in the scent that always seemed to leave him with the warm feeling of being safe and secure, protected by the very essence of the powerful Alpha in which the scent belongs to. His scar covered fingers clutched the fabric close to his chest, a small smile tugging at his pink lips as he curled into himself, eyes slowly opening to stare out the window, jade orbs watching the twinkling stars with adoration. "Katsuki, " He whispered softly to himself, purring softly as he nuzzled into the crimson cloak closer.

He let himself wonder for a few moments if Katsuki was staring out at the night sky too, before shaking his head. "That's so silly," He mumbled. "He's probably... Asleep. "

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Katsuki sighed as he leaned against the dark railing, head resting on his palm as he watched with crimson eyes at the bright moon above. "Izuku Bakugou," He chuckled to himself, a light smile tugging at his mouth. "Has a nice ring to it, if I do say so myself. "
"It does, doesn't it? " The Alpha tensed at the voice, a deep growl reverberating in his chest as he turned around. "Oh, shut up brat. Can't recognize your own mother's scent? " The woman snickered, crossing her arms over her chest.
"What are you doing here? " He sighed, walking forward and digging his hands deep into his pockets. Mitsuki glanced to her right, turning to sit down in one of the chairs.
"Sit, " The Alphan woman replied simply, crossing one leg over the other as she leaned back, watching as the King sat next to her. "Do you remember Inko? "
Katsuki raised a brow in question, eyeing his dam with confusion. "Yeah? Isn't she the lady you used to always invite over when I was little? "
Mitsuki nodded, her eyes shifting to the small table between them. "Do you remember her son? " She stated, meeting her pup's eyes.
The Alphan boy stayed silent, chewing at the inside of his cheek. "I'm... Courting him. "
"Ah, so you do remember who he is? Well, that poor boy is in pain because of you right now. He thinks you forgot him, he's convinced himself that you didn't love him when you two were younger. "
The male sighed, "I did... I still do..."
"Then you better get to explaining, because when that boy gets back, you're going to tell him everything. "
