WHY?

Sweat poured from my face and my body shook with fear. No, terror.

Beware! That sinister glorious thing had warned in my dream. It had no face. Just a warm zing of lightening dancing in the middle of the room. My room.

It was a dream, but it felt so real. Hell! My room felt warm like it had been really here. But that couldn't be possible...right?

I will come at the right time. Trust no one and tell nobody of this. I will come, and when I do, I will destroy all darkness. It said

I had a very strong feeling that thing was a part of me. If my right eye wasn't enough proof already, I don't know what will be. It's shape was exactly  the shape of the zing in my right eye and that terrified me even more. I'm...a monster?

"I know the answers you seek but I cannot tell you anything. The queen made me swear an oath to tell no one of what I saw that day. She would kill me if i speak of it since fairies' memories cannot be altered" Yasmin said behind me, her tiny wings fluttering and her voice solemn.

"Mother? Why would she do that. I'm sure it's nothing big, she'll tell me eventually" I shrugged however the look Yas gave me made me re-think my statement.

"Why do you hate the king of Alxae?" She suddenly asked. My mood went sour immediately.

"Don't be so bothered about that beast. I hate him because-" I stopped short, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. I have known Corey since I was but a child, yes but I didn't remember a thing about him. Not one instance that we fought or argued. My head felt...empty.

"Because?" Yas nudged.

"I-I can't remember. Why? Tell me Yas" Tears glistened in my eyes. Everything was wrong in these realms. I felt betrayed and used.

"You should take a stroll. It's the early hours of the morning and I doubt anyone is up. Just clear your head a little okay?" She suggested looking away sadly. She didn't want to die.

"But my head is already empty" I wanted to argue but I didn't. Instead, I stood up and walked away.

The silky robe I wore slipped from my shoulders, exposing my creamy skin. The cold desperately attacked me and I shivered. I shouldn't be able to feel cold but the sun wasn't out yet. My power grew with the sun and receded in the night. Not completely, but not as heightened.

My robe slipped again and I groaned, reaching for it before cold's greedy claws could seep into my pores. A warm hand came from behind and a blue cloak fell on my shoulders.

"Don't expose yourself to cold princess. We don't want you getting ill" he said and I narrowed my eyes at him.

Why did I feel so much anger anytime I saw him? Was someone perhaps controlling my emotions?

The anger and hatred was so thick and suffocating, the more I tried to hold it in, the more it blossomed and grew.

"Your knight in shining armor is always here for you foolish human" he chuckled this time and my attention drew to his exposed toned chest.

"More like kidnapper in a black hoodie" I retorted. I was about to stick out my tongue at him when I took in the surprised look he had in his face before stopping.

Kidnapper in what?

"What did you just say now? You remember?" Corey came closer to me, joy danced in his green eyes. For the first time, his eyes didn't look so dead. They looked alive, hopeful.

"I don't know why I said that. Perhaps from a movie I watched back on earth" I waved it off. That had to be the reason.

His fist punched the wall beside me and looked at his eyes. They flashed crimson red and short fangs peeked shyly from under his lips. I should be scared but for some reason, I'm not.

"What's that? You look different." I asked, amazed.

"Aren't you scared?"

"No, I trust you. I'm your priority remember?" I whispers reaching for the tiny baby horns that had grown on his forehead. He was different, I like different. The hatred I felt before dissipated into a dull dislike.

A necklace, a promise.

I looked behind him in time to see the orange hue casting on the balcony as the shape of wide wings arched in the cloud. Big and magnificent.

It was the second time this week I had seen it. Perhaps it was a sign, I don't know.

"Damn right you are" Corey said replying to my earlier statement before burrowing his nose into my neck and taking a long sniff.

When he looked back to me, his eyes were a light shade of green.

"My first and only priority"
...

"I have given you two whole weeks! Two weeks to choose a weapon for yourself and you still haven't been able to decide which to use? Look at the array of beautifully and royally defined weapons at your disposal and you can't make a choice. These are the best you'll ever see made from the most expensive and strongest iron and wielded by the most talented blacksmith. I cannot train you if I don't know which weapon you're to use and surely you can't go to the battle field against lissers like this."

"I don't feel connected to any of them. I don't see myself expertly using something I'm not intrigued by" I stated firmly and the well built fae snarled bitterly at me. He was tall and had a jagged scar running from his left ear to just under his chin.  His hair was shaggy and his face was always in a snarl. His body was decorated with fading and scabby scars. Some looked a bit fresh and I was amazed at how well he was ignoring the pain. He is after all one of the best warriors mother has.

"Pick. One. Princess" he gritted and i had to look away from his ugly face. Isn't this amount of ugliness illegal? No?

His breath smelt foul and his teeth looked yellowish. The only thing he was probably good at was fighting. His bulging muscles and numerous injuries were enough proof. Maybe he was even born fighting. His mother must have had a hard time containing him.

"Pick a sword. Your sassy twin loves it" he suggested indifferently.

"No, I don't really fancy that"

"And I don't really care" he bellowed. This thing just got uglier.

Goodness me!

"We're all doomed of you become queen one day" he sighed to himself but my sensitive ears caught it.

"Hey Luca." My sister yelled walking towards the ugly Fae monster. He turned to face her sporting a bored look on his face. Before we could comprehend what was happening, she kicked him hard in the groin. He didn't double over like we expected him to but his face went red.

"Don't talk to my sister that way. She'll figure it out eventually. I believe in her" She winked at me before dragging Luca out of the weaponry room.

I sighed before falling to the ground. Maybe I should pick randomly?

Use me

I jolted, looking behind me to find nobody there.

Use us. This time, it was chirrietta's voice mixed in with the light intoxicating one I heard earlier.

"H-how?" I asked confused

Just hold out your hands and will all your powers into one.

I stood up and held out my hands. I envisioned all my current powers merging together, grasping unto the strenght from the bright sun. Nothing happened at first and I almost gave up but a sudden cackle from my finger tips grabbed my attention and i focused harder.

I felt power drawing from me and pooling around my open palm. Soon a staff formed in my hand and heavy puffs came out from my mouth. All my energy was being drained faster than the sun could replenish me.

By the time I snapped my eyes open, what I saw made my eyes wide like saucers. It was magnificent, unique, exciting and intriguing.

There was a staff in my hand, the shape of the zing I saw in my dream but much smaller. It sizzled with electricity but didn't harm me in anyway. It shone a vibrant gold, beautiful but promising pain and cold death.

Around it lay balls of fire and tendrils of wind stayed around it. Whispering and swishing yet the presence of one affected not the presence of another. It was as if they were in perfect harmony, none seeking to hurt or quench the other .

Fire. Wind. Lightening and thunderbolt.

"Amazing" I awed at it. Without a doubt, I knew this would be my weapon forever. It felt like a part of me.

My vision went hazy and I attempted to walk to my room groggily. I used up too much energy.

The floor rushed towards my face and I tried to let out a scream but i hit the ground before I could.  My staff vanished.

"Kira! The palace is under attack." Calvin's voice sounded behind me. The seductive call of blackness pulled me in and I found myself loosing the little grasp I had on consciousness.

Boom!
