Luffy: "Gum-Gum; Spear"!!!

Stretching his feet at his sandy clone, Luffy watched as his feet went straight through. Reeling back his legs, Luffy got hit with a stretched out sand arm.

*Wham*

Luffy: Whoa!?

*Wooosh*

*Crash*

Craig ran from his copy as best as he could, attempting to come up with a strategy to defeat it. Guido wrestled with his, but being made of sand made it difficult. Laura after swinging her claws at the sand copy turned to avoiding damage whilst trying to figure out the best way to fight.

Spidey was having the hardest time. His injuries were worse than he thought. Every acrobatic move caused intense pain, to the point Kitty had to step in and phase him through all the attacks. The two stood, phasing through all the attacks. Though they couldn't get hurt, they couldn't fight back.

Spider-Man: Ugh... Scorpion poison... And a bunch of broken bones is not a good combo. The more you know...

Kitty: Any idea how we can beat these things?

Spider-Man: They're sand... So acid, water, high heat, maybe even concrete mix.

Craig: Did you say water?

Running past, Craig heads for a water dispenser. Hugging the machine, he tries ripping the jug but pulls the whole machine.

Craig: Uhmmm...! Catch!

He throws it over to Guido.

Guido: Huh? Uhm...

Luffy:(smiles) To me! To me!

He throws it over to Luffy who stretched out his arms, catching it.

And like a football player he begins dashing across the museum with it.

Kitty: NO! STOP PLAYING KEEP AWAY WITH THE WATER! WE NEED TO USE IT!

Luffy: Laura! Catch!

Tossing it towards Laura, Luffy gets piled on by the sand clones. Laura catching the machine runs off with it.

Kitty: Nooooo! Not you too...

Kitty:(turns to Spidey) I'm sorry... They're a silly bunch...

Spider-Man: Heh, no, it's alright. Silly is the pick me up I need. Now let's end this.

Raising his hand, Spidey was about to shoot out web to grab the dispenser.

The fire alarm then suddenly went off.

*RING* *RING* *RING* *RING*

*RING* *RING* *RING* *RING*

The sprinklers went off, washing away the sand clones into piles of mud. Everyone looked around confusion about the sudden activation of the fire alarm, until Kitty noticed the sudden opening of an umbrella.

*Fump*

Getting covered from the rain as Sanji slid in close to her, umbrella in hand.

Sanji:(smirks) Here. You'll catch a cold in this rain, Kitty-Cat.

*Tap*

Spider-Man: Whoa!?

Stretching out his arm, Sanji shoved Spidey away so he could wrap his arm in and pull Kitty even closer.

Sanji:(smirks) In fact. Stay close to me. My passion for you will keep you nice and warm.

Kitty: Sanji!?

Laura: I knew we forgot something... At least we know now it wasn't important...

Sanji: Urk!?

Kitty phases through Sanji's embrace, to help Spidey up.

Spider-Man: Who's this guy?

Kitty: Right, you were unconscious when he left to get us food.

Laura: Which looks like he failed...

Sanji: Listen Fem-verine. I got sidetracked with this.

He leans his head and taps the earpiece he stole.

Sanji: I'm currently listening in on all the villains conversations.

Sanji: Which led me here.

As the sprinklers died down, Sanji tossed the umbrella aside and lit up a cigarette.

He blew a puff of smoke out as he flicked away some ash.

Spider-Man: Do you know what they're planning?

Sanji: They didn't quite begin randomly giving me exposition on their plans.

Sanji: But by listening in and through contex clues...

Sanji: I've learned that the big boss and that...(Smiles) pulchritudinous woman...

Sanji: Are currently making preparation to break into some building.

Sanji: The rest have divided up the city and are plundering whilst looking for the wall crawler here.

Luffy:(smiles) Cool! Let's go beat them all up.

Sanji: As soon as we go after the big bad and baddie, they are sure to come...

Luffy: Alright!

Laura strains the water out of her hair, as she and the others group up for the rest of the conversation.

Laura: Where was my umbrella?

Sanji: Aren't you the strong independent type?

Kitty: And I'm not?

Sanji: Urk!?

Sanji: *awkward chuckle* O-Of course you are, Kitty-Cat! It's just your in full costume and I just assumed you wouldn't want it to start squeeking when it gets wet.

Kitty: Wet? I can just phase through the water.

Sanji: But why bother, when I'm here?

Kitty: Hmph!

She turns to Spidey.

Kitty: Come on! I'll help you there!

She hugs Spidey's arm to help support him.

Spider-Man: I'm not that badly hurt...!

Sanji:!?!

Sanji glares such hate his eyes feel like they are on fire.

Sanji:(mumbles) Lucky bastard...!

Laura:....

Laura: You're a loser.

Sanji:!?

Luffy:(smiles) Shihihihih! Come on Sanji! Tell us the way already!

He leaps onto Guido's shoulders to ride him.

Guido: Yeah! Let's go!

Sanji: Alright.... Let's me show you the way. It's in a building in Greenwich Village.

Spider-Man: Greenwich Village? Oh no... We're going to be dealing with big Voodoo there....

Guido/Craig: V-Voodoo?!

Luffy: Whoa! Cool! Let's go, go, go!

Kitty: Wait!

Luffy: Awww... What? I wanna kick that Sandbags ass!

Kitty; If he can make sand clones of us all, he can do that outside the museum too.

Kitty: And we won't have sprinklers to save us...

Kitty: We need to first make sure we can identify each other, then find a way across the city fast.

Guido: Why don't we just draw a mark on everyone's arm? Like an X or something.

Laura: Just in case, we might wanna add some type of movement to it...

Spider-Man: As for getting around quickly, all together.... I've got an idea...

(On the roof)

With a combination of webbing and Luffy's rubber arms, the D-Men and Spidey pulled back, preparing to slingshot themselves across the city to avoid a large gap where they might need to deal with more sand clones.

Craig, Guido and Kitty were scared for their lives with this upcoming stunt. Luffy was smiling and giggling. Everyone else was preparing themselves.

Spider-Man: Get ready everyone! The rubber band express is about to take off!

Luffy:(smiles) "Gum-Gum"!

Spider-Man: "Slingshot"!!!

*FUMP-BOING*

The seven soared through the city skylines. And with Kitty's powers and Spidey's weblines connecting everyone, the terrified Shadowcat phased the team through building after building.

Spider-Man: Whooo!

Luffy:(smiles) Hahaha!

Kitty: I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!

Craig: WHAAAAAAA!?!!

Guido: AAAAAHHHH?!!

Sanji: Tch!

Laura:(grits teeth)

Spider-Man: Attention! Slingshot express is stopping! Hope you had a pleasant flight!

Kitty stopped phasing as Spidey pulled her close. Slinging webs at their descending trajectory he made a massive web net.

The sevent landed safely in the net, roughly a few blocks from their destination.

Sanji, Laura and Luffy easily got out of the net and hopped to the ground. Craig and Guido got off with some difficulty. Kitty was lowered by Spidey who she hold onto as he used a web to slip down.

Sanji:!?

Kitty: Is it over...?

Spider-Man: Yeah. *Chuckles* you can let go now...

Kitty; I'd rather not...

Spider-Man: Huh?

Kitty: Nothing!

She pushes away. Sanji walks past glaring at Spidey.

Sanji:(glares) Come on. It's this way...

Sanji: Hm?

Kitty: What's wrong?

Sanji: They're talking on the earpiece...

Sanji:!

Sanji: Come on everyone! We have to hurry! They know we're here!

Craig: How!?

Laura: Take your pick... The shouting as we flew or maybe that we're walking on sand which he can control from a distance?

Craig: Hey, my screaming was completely justified!

Luffy: Come on! Let's go!

Craig: Wh-whoa wait! Don't leave me behind!!

An army of sand people formed from the sand coated streets. The seven were too late and were completely surrounded.

The team gritted their teeh and raised their fists for a fight.

Spider-Man: This isn't going to be easy....

Luffy:(smirks) Shihihihih... If they think this is enough to stop us, then think again!

Kitty: Luffy, we don't have any water! These things are basically invincible!

Craig: The fire hydrants!! We can use those to wash 'em away!

Sanji: Without a hose, the range will be limited. But yeah, that could work.

Laura: I'll go cut one open.

*Snikt*

Laura: Just keep them off my back.

Luffy: Alright! Let's-

The roar of a motor distracted the team, who turned around to see someone riding some row boat size surfboard with an engine and flames blazing out the back

The roar, grew louder and louder, not only because of its growing proximity but because of the man somehow revving the engine into a higher gear with his hands in his pockets.

Laura: Tch! If they wanna fight!

Kitty: No wait!

Kitty: That vehicle... It can only be...

Luffy:(tilts head)

Leaning back just before hitting the team, the man and his motor surfboard went airborn with a flip.

Upside down, the man and Luffy's eyes met.

They both began to grin wildly.

For they knew each other. In facr, they've known each other for quite a long time, because this man was Luffy's older brother. One of the members of the X-Men.

Luffy:(smiles) ACE!!!!!!!!

This man on the surfboard flipped several more times before leaping off, holding finger guns near his hips as they fell towards the sandmen.

Ace: "Fire Gun Barrage"!!

*PEW* *PEW* *PEW*

Bullets of fire exploded from his finger tips. Hitting the sandmen, spots across their body immediately flash burn into glass, which fell straight through their bodies, making them unstable.

*Thud*

Luffy: ACE!!!

Ace:(smirks) Finally found you.... Luffy...

Turning around Ace's smile turns to shock and horror as Luffy was now inches way from him after slingshotting himself towards Ace.

Ace: LUFFY!!!!!??

*BONK*

The two go crashing through several sandmen, and eventually into a truck.

Everyone:.... Huh?

Hugging Ace off his feet, after pulling him out if the Ace shaped dent, Luffy laughs.

Luffy:(smiles) What are you doing here?

Ace: Ugh...

Becoming fire, he phased out of the hug, pulling his little brother into a arm lock he rubs his knuckles into his head.

Ace: Heard you were at the mansion while I was out! Once I heard, I came running after you!

Ace: Haven't seen you in a few years, so I had no choice!

Luffy: You live at that baldie's mansion?

Ace: Yep.

He tosses Luffy into the air as several spikes of sand pop out of the ground and through his body and come out from the other side as glass.

Ace:(smirks) That won't work on me... I'm a fire person!

He glances at Luffy's team and Spidey.

Ace: You might wanna clear the street!

Spidey and the D-Men clear the way as Luffy lands.

Ace: Like old times, Luffy!

Luffy:(smirks) Heh! I hear you!!

The two put their hats on. Luffy swings his arm back, Ace grabs it and helps stretch it out by becoming a flying ball of fire.

Luffy:(smiles) "Gum-Gum"....!!

Ace: "Red Hawk"!!!!

Swinging his arm forward, along with Ace, Luffy flings his brother at all the sand people. Ace transforms into a massive fire bird that transforms all the sand into glass. Spider-Man and the D-Men had to brace themselves against the glorious heat from the attack.

The team stepped onto the hot glass and over to the brothers.

Ace: You've definitely gotten stronger based on that swing, Luffy.

Luffy:(smiles) Shihihihih! I could probably beat you now!

Ace: Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Kitty: Mister Ace? You know Luffy?

Ace: Huh? Oh, Kitty! Yeah of course I know him! He's my little bro!

Luffy: "Mister Ace"?

Ace: I teach a bit over at the mansion. It's whatever...

Ace: Anyhow... Let me get a look at this team of yours...

He takes a nice big glance at Luffy's D-Men. Taking a lap around them, Ace nods to himself.

Ace: Hmm... Uh-huh...

Ace:(smiles) Thanks for being by my little brothers side! And I'm so sorry for all the trouble he's definitely caused you all.

D-Men:.....

D-Men:(smiles) It's no problem!

Luffy: Hey! I haven't caused any trouble!

Ace: Your middle name should be trouble, Luffy.

Luffy: Oh yeah!? Well yours should be.... Uhmm... Bubbles!

Ace: Yeah, Yeah...

Spider-Man: It's been a bit, Fire Fist.

Ace: That it has, Spidey. You look like you need a hospital.

Spider-Man: I'll manage.

Ace: I don't know... Just going off appearances. I say you need to stop while you're ahead.

Spider-Man: No can do.

Ace: Your funeral.

A large shadow grows over the group. They glance over at what was casting it to find a large tendril of sand.

Ace: Looks like I made a good impression.... You guys go do what you gotta do.

Ace: I'll make sure all the sand flows my way.

Luffy:(smiles) Good! I didn't want you to steal my fight.

Ace: Don't get too carried away, Luffy.

Luffy:(smiles) Where's the fun in that!

Leading his team away from the tendril, Luffy leaves his brother to deal with and draw out Sandman's attention.

Sanji guided the gang to a building. Spidey took immediate notice of what was across the street, a mystical house with an odd window shape.

There was no chance that this was a coincidence and he knew it.

*SLAM*

Sanji: They should be in here!

Kicking open the door, the gang ran into the building.

Spider-Man:!!

His spider sense triggered, but it was too late, the floor collapsed, and the entire team plummeted to the basement which was dug out even further down into the sewers.

Everyone: WHOOAAAAA!?!?

The walls were covered in sand, giving no one a place to latch onto.

They had fell for their trap, landing in a pile of sand that became a prison cell to contain Luffy and his team.

Luffy: Ughhhh.... Hm?

Sandman and Robin glared towards the straw hat boy and his team.

Luffy: Oi!

He grabs the sand prison bars which were packed together to be as hard as stone.

Luffy: Let me out so I can kick your ass!!!

The Black Queen throws several collars through the cage before crossing her arms.

Robin: "Siete Fleur"!!!

An arm blooms from Spidey and each member of the D-Men. These arms catch the collars and place them onto their necks before they could even realize what was going on.

The mutants lost their powers as Spidey felt himself grow even weaker.

Slumping to his knees, a tired and panting Luffy glares up at Sandman, grabbing the bars he pulls himself up and yells.

Luffy: FIGHT ME!!!!

Sandman:(glares)
