Chapter 7: {Sea Monsters}
"Aaah..." Bakugou stretched carelessly, sitting up and awakening from his sleep. For a second, he even forgot where he was.
Oh yeah, wasteland. We beat that weird guy the other day...
Katsuki looked around, but Dabi was still lying on the ground.
Christ, is he dead? Damn, as much as I hate to admit it, that Deku's strong. That jewel he has...
Speaking of Deku, where-
His eyes widened and he looked down, blushing a crimson red.
How the fuck does his head keep getting on my lap?
"Geez...Hey, Deku." He shouted, making sure to be just quiet enough not to trigger the flames.
The greenette slept on.
What kind of fucking heavy sleeper is this idiot?
The blonde sighed and lay back down.
Guess I'm not moving.
"Aaaah..." Kirishima stretched and sat up, opening his eyes.
"Hey, shitty hair." Bakugou grumbled.
"You do know-" Eijirou motioned towards Katsuki's lap.
"Yeah, I fucking noticed. How the hell does this keep happening?"
"You could just move, you know." The redhead shot Bakugou a knowing smile.
"Like fuck I'm gonna do that." The blonde's cheeks dusted pink.
"We should probably wake him up."
"Idiot, don't you think I fucking tried? This guy is such a heavy sleeper that a goddamn chainsaw running wouldn't wake him up." Katsuki huffed.
At that moment, the green-haired boy's eyes blinked open.
"Good morning, guys!" He smiled brightly, noticing Bakugou looking down at him.
"Wh-Kacchan? Why are you-oh!" Izuku's eyes widened as he realized that he was on the blonde's lap.
He turned crimson to the tips of his ears and jumped up quickly.
Katsuki felt a small pang of regret that he quickly dismissed.
"Anyway, we should get going, guys." Kirishima spoke quickly, hoping to save Midoriya from further embarrassment.
"Um, o-okay." Izuku smiled gratefully.
"Alright, let's go." Bakugou stood up, dusting himself off.
"What time is it?" Izuku asked suddenly.
"I dunno, about noon. I'd guess that about a week or so has passed." Kirishima answered. "Why?"
"Oh, we really have to get going." Midoriya paled.
"Alright, Deku."Katsuki began walking.
"Uh, King?"
"What?"
"You're going in the wrong direction." Kirishima snickered.
"Oh, fuck you." Katsuki turned around, blushing.
Izuku giggled. "Silly Kacchan!"
"Don't you start."Bakugou warned.
The three set off on their trek through the rest of the desert.
"Hey, what's that?" Kirishima squinted into the distance.
A shimmering line of blue could barely be glimpsed on the horizon.
"I dunno..." Izuku wondered.
The three began walking faster.
"Anything's better than this fucking wasteland." Katsuki grumbled.
"Oh, stop whining. We're all tired, ya know." Izuku retorted.
Taken aback, Bakugou fell silent.
The shimmering line grew closer and closer, getting larger and larger.
"Wait, is that-" Eijirou peered into the distance.
"The ocean?" Katsuki finished in bewilderment.
"That must be the second stage!" Izuku took off running. Kirishima followed with foolish abandon.
"Wait, you idiots-" Katsuki yelled, when a flame shot up, scorching his foot.
"Damn it!" He took off after them, swearing colorfully.
Izuku and Kirishima had stopped and were standing at the edge.
"Kacchan, look! It's the ocean!" Izuku beckoned the blonde closer.
"So what?"
"Well, we must have to cross it somehow..." the greenette mused.
The sea stretched out as far as they could see. The sun shone on the glistening water, and it looked rather inviting. The water started at a seemingly random point, with no sand. It stretched far to the right and the left, in all directions.
"There's no way we can swim or fly across that." Kirishima scratched his head.
"Yeah, but I wouldn't mind going for a swim..." Izuku answered wistfully.
"Watch it. Last time we jumped into something we almost fucking died." Katsuki warned.
"Hey, what's that?" Eijirou spotted a white dot in the distance that was steadily getting larger.
Soon it took the shape of a large sailboat just big enough to hold the three of them.
There was no one at the helm or steering it. The boat glided towards them, stopping gently at the water's edge.
"...What the hell?" Bakugou cautiously poked the boat with his foot, half expecting it to disappear.
"A self-driving boat?" Kirishima stared at the sails.
"I...I think we're supposed to board it. Why else would it be here?" Izuku suggested.
"I don't trust this thing." Katsuki huffed. "It just comes floating up to us and we're supposed to trust it? It can't be that easy."
"Kacchan...I think this is part of the test. Please?" Midoriya looked up at the blonde with soulful green eyes.
"Tch. Fine. But I still think we're all gonna die."
Izuku stepped into the boat, beckoning for his companions to follow.
Kirishima jumped onto the boat, causing it to rock.
"Woahh!" Izuku slipped to the side, falling dangerously close to the edge and scrabbling for a hold.
Bakugou grabbed the smaller boy's hand, pulling him up and steadying him with his free hand, grabbing his waist.
"Deku, you gotta be more careful." The blonde dropped the greenette's hand and looked away.
The boy blushed red. "Ehehe, sorry Kacchan!"
You two really need to get a room. Kirishima thought loudly, snickering to himself.
Oh, shut up, shitty hair.
Eijirou fumbled around with the sails.
"How do I get this thing to go?" he mumbled to himself.
Suddenly, the boat started moving of its own accord, gliding across the sea at a fast rate. The land disappeared from their sight quickly.
"Magic boats are weird." Kirishima sat down, pouting.
Izuku giggled at his antics.
"Where the fuck are we going anyway?" Katsuki grumbled.
As if it was triggered by his words, the boat stopped.
"What the hell? Why'd it stop? We're in the middle of the goddamn ocean!"
"H-huh?" Izuku looked around. The sailboat was orbiting in a slow circle, with miles of water all around. There was no land in sight.
A feeling of dread began to pool in Katsuki's gut.
"We're fucking dead now."
"M-maybe it's just malfunctioning?" Izuku offered weakly.
The boat was spinning faster and faster now, creating a whirlpool.
"Woooah!" The three had to hang onto the sides to avoid being thrown off.
"Uh, what the fuck is that?" Bakugou shouted.
A pair of enormous sky-scraper-like tentacles began to rise out of the water.
They were a hideous green color and they thrashed, splashing the companions with salty water.
The boat abruptly stopped spinning, throwing the three to the side.
They were greeted with a horrible sight.
Two gargantuan tentacles, holding a man between them.
The man was wearing a black suit and straight jacket, that only left his large mouth visible.
In case you couldn't tell, this guy is Moonfish. He's a part of the League of Villains, in case you haven't watched or read that far into BNHA yet.
The man snapped and jerked, giggling madly to himself.
"Kill the heroes! Kill the heroes!" he repeated over and over.
The three stood.
"We're gonna have to fight this guy, aren't we?"
"Probably."
"Damnit."
Suddenly, the man-creature went limp.
"Uh-" Bakugou asked in confusion.
The man's teeth began to lengthen out of his mouth like deadly, stabbing swords.
"What the fucking hell?" Bakugou yelled, dodging one of the teeth swords."What is that guy?!"
The man's teeth began stabbing at the heroes, forcing them to dodge and followed them wherever they went.
"Shitty hair! Transform into a dragon!" Bakugou yelled."We need to get up there to beat him!"
"Ow!" Izuku yelled. One of the man's teeth grazed his arm, leaving a tear in his shirt and nicking him slightly.
"Deku!"
"I'm okay, I'm okay!"
Katsuki jumped on Kirishima's back and they shot into the air.
Go around him, try to get him from the back!
Got it, bossman.
Don't call me that.
Whatever you say, bosswoman.
Just go, damnit!
The two flew towards the man's back.
"Ouch!"came a cry from Izuku.
Damnit, what did that monster do to Deku?!
Feeling a burst of rage, Bakugou roared and smashed his fist into the back of the man-creature's head.
The teeth-swords that had been pursuing them shrunk back into the man's mouth, and the tentacles sank beneath the waves.
"I guess we beat him." Kirishima spoke, flying back down to the boat.
"Damnit...Deku! Deku! Are you okay?"
The greenete was lying on the deck, clutching his arm.
"Kacchan...I'm fine. He just nicked me."
"You're bleeding, dumbass!" The blonde tore a strip from his cape and bound the cut.
"Be more careful, idiot."Bakugou gruffly berated him.
"S-sorry."
"Hey, guys! The boat's moving again!"
