04.And they knelt...
Namjoon curiously followed Yoongi, JHope was on his right. The boys had told them about the girl and now they were dying to see her. Yoongi felt like he was a zookeeper taking tourists around. "Just don't make any sudden moves or Ino will get scared" he warned leading them up the stairs.
"Jungkook described her as extremely beautiful?" JHope mumbled and Yoongi nodded blankly. "Damn, what can't hide a little dirt!" grinned Namjoon. Yoongi rolled his eyes, it all looked like a game to the boys, but the girl was in his home and he had to deal with her.
Opening the door, he looked around the room, Ino clearly wasn't used to being on display, so he searched the corners. Frowning, he turned to the terrace, walking towards it. "Ino?" he called out to her, though he probably wouldn't get an answer.
The terrace door was open, but he couldn't see the girl. "Ino?" he tried again, going outside. "Where ,the hell, is she hiding again?" he thought, leaning on the railing and looking around the mansion. There were guards walking around, hardly anywhere in the open.
A pat on the shoulder made him turn around, thinking it was Namjoon or JHope. Ino looked at him curiously, Yoongi hadn't sensed her at all. "Is that her?" Ino jumped as if someone had punched her, running right into Yoongi's arms. "God, I'm sorry, I didn't know she was that cowardly" JHope raised his hands in front of her.
"Don't worry, they're friends" Yoongi wasn't the type of man who showed closeness, he didn't like it, but with this girl he simply had no choice. She clearly had some kind of trust in him, or so it seemed, so whenever something scared her and he was nearby, she invariably threw herself into his arms, clearly expecting him to protect her.
And caught close, Yoongi wrapped an arm around her waist, brushing the hair that had fallen into her face. "It's okay, little one, look" she timidly looked in the direction of JHope and Namjoon, both of them with their sweetest possible smiles beaming right at her.
"Does he treat everyone like this?" Namjoon asked as he and Ino openly studied each other. "Only with me and to some extent with Jungkook. To everyone else she reacted like she did to you." Yoongi explained, sighing in annoyance as Ino slumped further into his chest.
"What are you going to do with her and not ask about the bet? She's obviously helpless alone." Jhope asked and Yoongi smirked. "I wouldn't exactly call her helpless, she nearly killed one of my men last night" Namjoon and Jhope stared at him in disbelief.
"Or at least give him a good scare." he added looking down at Ino. Last night, after she'd been out in the rain for at least an hour and Yoongi had finally managed to get her inside, he'd tried to talk to her. But apart from "I don't remember" nothing else came out of her mouth.
Clinging to his hand, she avoided looking anyone in the eye all evening, except for Jungkook, whom she even allowed to shake her hand. Maybe because of their close age or something she saw in him that the others didn't have.
"But in general, I have no idea what to do with her, I don't want to put her back on the street, but even if she stays with us, she will be in danger." Yoongo looked thoughtfully at the scar on her left temple. Ino looked up at him and then at something behind him, he turned as well, the sky was quickly darkening. "Can you feel the rain?" for some reason it made him smile when she nodded and her otherwise blank eyes sparkled with life.
"Is there much left?" she shook her head, backing away from him. Yoongi stepped back and stood between Namjoon and JHope, crossing his arms over his chest. Ino turned her back to them, and like last night, raised her face to the sky, waiting patiently. "What is he doing?" Jhope asked in a whisper. "Watch" Yoongi replied, watching as she stretched her arms down and spread her fingers.
A few minutes passed, in which she didn't move at all, in the distance there was a thunder. Ino turned and looked at Yoongi with a big smile, her eyes shining with joy, as if she had been waiting for this moment all her life and now her dream had become a reality.
"Last night she did the same." Yoongi explained. "It's like she can sense when it's going to rain and can't wait to feel it" he sighed, shaking his head, staring at her back as she turned back towards the clouds.
The raindrops slowly began to soak into the cement floor of the terrace. Ino took a deep breath, leaning against the railing, her shoulders tensed, and Yoongi gently pushed Namjoon and JHope inside so they wouldn't get wet too.
Drenched, Ino was enjoying the heavy rain. The clothes clung to her body, causing the three men behind her to stare in amazement. The white t-shirt she was wearing began to show more and more. "What the hell is that?" Namjoon made the mistake of stepping forward and touching her.
Her body stiffened for a second, Ino jumped back, spinning, her arm flying out and Namjoon barely avoiding the blow, and Ino found herself crouched, tiptoeing over the railing, her fingers digging into their edge and a murderous glare. Her hair stuck to her face, making her look like she was ready to attack at any moment.
Namjoon froze, her eyes following even his breathing. "Ino!" Yoongi's voice sounded cold and commanding, she looked at him tilting her head. "Namjoon, step back slowly" as Namjoon started to step back, Yoongi did the opposite, reaching out to the girl.
She looked at his hand and then at Yoongi, who nodded blankly. Ino stood up and gracefully jumped back onto the terrace, entwining her fingers with Yoongi's. "Good girl, now show me your back, little one" she obediently turned around.
Yoongi used his other hand to lift her t-shirt. Her entire upper back and part of her lower back was tattooed. "Angel wings!" gasped Jhope narrowing his eyes. "And a god's messenger appeared and they knelt down, bowing their heads before the angel of death" Yoongi looked at Namjoon with raised eyebrows.
"It's from the Bible, the appearance of the first angel, but in this case, someone paraphrased it" Namjoon tried to get a better look at the tattoo without getting too close. "As long as I hold her, she won't attack you" Yoongi prompted and Namjoon stood, leaning over to get a good look at Ino's back.
"Do you think this has any meaning or is it just a tatoo?" JHope asked and Yoongi glared at him. "I don't know, but whatever she was before she lost her memory, those movements from a while ago were a simple reflex and well-practiced. Otherwise she'd be on the ground below now with a broken neck given the slippery ledge at the moment," he muttered thoughtfully, and Namjoon looked at the ledge, reconstructing Ino's stance from a moment ago.
"Military?" he looked at Yoongi, standing up and stepping back. "I don't know, but hardly, she only practiced personal self-defense" Yoongi shook his head, dropping her t-shirt and turning her to face him. Ino looked at him like a pet looks at its master, nothing like the look she gave Namjoon.
"Who are you, little one?" he asked, looking at her scar again. "Do you remember anything at all?" he asked and Ino blinked, brow furrowing. "Whatever, anything?" he insisted a little more firmly and she looked up at the clouds. "Water" was all Yoongi got as an answer.
