Where do I even begin with the ten million thoughts in my head? I met my mate, the most gorgeous and down to earth man I had ever met. His eyes are a beautiful light brown color that match his hair and skin tone perfectly. His skin is flawless with small beauty marks across his cheeks and a bigger one right above his lip that just draws attention to his perfect lips. He has a slim build and has a nice round ass that I love to touch. He is in every sense of the word, perfect.

He is also human, the future King of the country I was born in and he's unfortunately sick. It's taking everything in me not to mark him and have my Alpha cure him.

With a heavy heart, I regret that he'd ever come here. Maybe if he stayed then he could have gotten help. I was planning on traveling the world to find my mate regardless but he found me first. How wonderful is irony.

What's so cruel, however, is I'm just a repairman for the town. How can someone like me compete with royalty? They may say with their words they accept me but I don't feel worthy. Even in my pack I don't have a title so who's to say their actions will prove otherwise and I'll lose my mate at the blink of an eye.

"Quit that, you know thinking in such ways will do you bad." My Alpha and father figure since my birth reminded me.

"I'm sorry Alpha, it's just the thought of the future King being my mate worries me." I looked at him.

"Boy I tell you, if your parents saw you now they'd have my head." He chuckled and shook his head.

"I'm sure they would appreciate you for saving me, it's just the idea of being so… boring. I'm a repair man and he's royalty. I was premature and blind when I first met you. My parents were head security and were desperate when I was born so thank you." I sighed and looked away from the castle.

"You may be an average everyday werewolf but your job in itself is necessary. You get to travel all over Dormar" He sighed and I hugged him.

"You may be right, it's just my constant fear of rejection that worries me. And I appreciate my new life you've given me, thank you Alpha Adon." I smiled and he smiled before pulling me out of the bedroom.

"What shall we do today? I have no meetings until tomorrow so I'm all yours." He cackled. I knew he was trying to get me to think of other things and a lighter subject.

"Are you sure you're thirty four and not younger?" I teased and he glared at me and I chuckled.

"No dessert for that remark you." He huffed.

"On a serious note I just want to stay home and train, there's not much to do here. The current King and Queen are the youngest we've had, thankfully they built that amusement park but there are no malls or movie theaters, it's a tourist attraction for old people and history freaks." I yawned dramatically.

"Then it's a good thing you're mated to the future King, you can help him by telling him what would make the country better, he's the future King so l final decisions are his but you can help him make the changes required to make the country better for everyone. I taught you better than that Glenn. We Moonlite Wind Pack members don't leave anyone behind, sick, dying, healthy or injured. We carry them on our backs if we have to and bury them where they rest peacefully on the cliff with our human brothers and sisters. Our pack may be primal but we are not savages." Adon lectured and the thought occurred to me just then.

"You forgot unless it's a full moon, then is the time we rest and our wolves roam and protect the country from the shadows." I smirked.

"Well look who's been paying attention to my history lessons mister 'history freak'." He teased and I giggled.

"I'm just recalling what you've taught for so many years. I love this country and I love Ashton more than anything. If there ever came a chance to leave I would take all the people I can." And then he covered my mouth with a smile and covered his nose.

"You have a strong bond with him because you have been together for a few months. I mean I can smell your arousal.” He snickered and it made me blush. Just the thought of Ashton made me go wild with need.

“Don’t think about leaving just yet when your mate is so ill. I’m trying all I can to help you my boy but it will take some time. For now, just be there for him, like you have been. That's all he needs, just you there for him." Adon reminded me and I nodded.

"Sorry you're right. I'll do everything I can for him,  I promise. Especially since I bit him, it wasn't a mate mark per say but it did connect us and that makes our bond even stronger so the desire to mate with him is at an all time high. Maybe I should get him some flowers, maybe some roses or is that too cliche?" I asked with a smile on my face at the thought of my beautiful Ashton.

"You can retrieve some roses, orchids and possibly some gladiolus flowers on the base of the cliff. Leave some for your parents for me. I've been meaning to for a day now and I feel bad enough." He said and I ran off.

"Bye to you too, say hi to Ashton for me if you make it there before I do. I have to check on training." Adon said.

"Yes Alpha." I said and began to pick a variety of flowers we keep on the land.

As I finished picking all the flowers I wanted and needed, I began to pick at the ones I won’t be using for my parents or Ashton and spread the petals along the lands whispering a silent prayer for all to hear in their eternal slumber until I got to my parents and sat in front of them.

“Hi mama, hi dad.” I smiled at their headstones.

“Where do I even begin since yesterday? I have so little to tell you now but I guess I should say I miss you guys and I hope you both are looking down on me and still continue to guide me from above.”

“I know you both are trying your hardest to help my mate even in death. You both continue to do your duty in protecting the royal family and I will be forever grateful to you both if he pulls through this. I need him, I love him with all my heart and would give my own life just to save him.” I sniffled and wiped the tears I didn't even know I cried, I need Ashton to be ok, to be healthy, and to live. I don't know how much longer he has and that hurts so bad.

“I brought you both your favorite flowers. Adon says he’s sorry for not bringing them sooner. I’m sure you both would slap him upside the head because it’s only been a day since he last came. That’s just how he is so don’t be too hard on him ok? He’s an honest and great man and I hope in your eyes he has raised me well.”

“I hope you both continue to bless us and look down on us with pride. I love you both.” I bow to them and place the flowers down and place a rock on the steams so they don’t blow away.

On my way to the Castle, I put the flowers I got for Ashton into a vase. Then suddenly my heart rate sped up unexpectedly. “What the heck?”

The closer I got the harder it was to breathe.

“Ah, Glenn, here to see Ashton?” King Asher asked.

“Yes sir, I brought him his daily flower arrangement and I really just wanted to see him.” I said and looked at the flowers.

“How are you doing today sir?” I asked as I looked at his features for any hint of a lie. He’s going to be my father in law one day. He must be going through hell as well as the Queen.

“He’s not getting any better unfortunately. I had to call in outside help as a last resort. The chemotherapy and radiation are no longer effective. I have to save my son at any cost. I just got him back.” I smiled and nodded. I admired this side of the King. He cares so much for his people and Ashton. He’s definitely not the stereotype to blow off his child.

“I understand sir, I hope whatever help you have brought brings him great strength.” I said and gave him a flower and went on my way to see Ashton.

As I approached his room I was hit by the unfamiliar scent of a few wolves. I may be just an average wolf but when I smell what's unknown to me like these Alpha's scents, I go into protective mode and can smell three others and go on high alert especially when they’re so close to my mate.

“Ashton, I’m here to help you. Please allow me to.” I heard a deep accent.

“How can you help me when I’m so far gone?” I heard my beautiful mate’s voice. He sounded so out of it so I myself paid attention.

“I gave the doctor my venom to cure you. Not enough to turn you but heal you. You’re my mate Ashton and so is Keith.” I did not like this at all. I have to share my Ashton with two others. In all the history of Moonlite history I was now stuck with all this.

I had enough of them trying to claim Ashton as theirs. For all I know they could be lying so as I walked in, I was hit by several scents of wolves of most ranks.

"Who are you?' I heard a voice from my side and looked over to see six people sitting in the chairs in the waiting room.

"Better question is who the hell are you? Why are you so close to my mate and why do you smell of rogue?" I asked them, not liking they are here and so close to Ashton.

"Your mate?" One guy asked and I didn't even respond, I was too focused on Ashton and the other guy in his room.

"Again who are you?" I asked again.

"I'm Ajax, this is Justin, Carter, Gregory, Travis, and Keith. Who are you?" One of the Alpha's answered and asked.

"Names Glenn." I said and listened to the man in the room with my mate.

"Who the hell is that guy?"

"Matthias. King Asher had asked him to come and help his son." This time Gregory answered.

I knew of Matthias and Keith, the men that drove my mate to come here. I should honestly thank them in time.

"Which I'm thankful for but he's saying my mate is mated to him and another? How do I know he's not lying? If he was their mate, why hurt him like they have? Why didn't he know they were mates? And how long have you all been here?" I was pissed, I just wanted to see my beautiful Ashton and cuddle with him but now it seems that can't happen yet.

"We're here until we're not needed anymore and for everything else you asked, ask them." Ajax answered and he glared at Keith. Hmm I think I'm going to like him after all.

"Later, right now I'm going to see my mate." I said and walked into the room, to see Matthias holding onto the edge of the bed, his eyes red and his aura strong.

"Who are you?" His voice was deeper and he was staring me down hard. I knew he was an Alpha but he's not my Alpha so I being a hardass stared him down as well.

"Glenn, get away from my mate." I said and he didn't seem to like that very much since he growled loudly, walked over to me and put his hand around my throat and slammed me against the wall.

The door slammed open and the guys who were out in the waiting room ran in and tried to get him to let me go. I couldn't breathe and was struggling to get him to stop squeezing my windpipe.

"Let...him…" Ashton tried to speak but he was coughing and it seemed like he couldn't breathe either and that's when I was seeing red, I with all my strength raised my leg up and kicked as best I could at Matthias in the knee to let me go. Once he dropped me, I took in a big breath and coughed and so did Ashton and I got off the ground and ran over to his bed and took him into my arms and comforted him as he calmed down.

"You fucking idiot. Since you did that to me, he felt it because he wears my mark so if you kill me, you kill him!" I yelled at the son of a bitch who was looking at me with murder in his eyes.

"Get the hell out of here, do what you gotta do for Ashton but I don't want you back in this room." I said and I may be asking to be killed but Ashton is my mate and he needs someone to protect him, even if it kills me.

"You can't tell me, an Alpha what the hell to do! Who do you think you are?!" He yelled back and Ashton was shaking in my arms, from fear and I tried to soothe him as best I could but the aura in the room wasn't helping.

"Apparently I'm the only one who is looking out for Ashton. If you care at all about him, you will leave so he can calm down or can't you see that he's scared?"

"That's enough!" The King said when he came into the room with the Queen and I bowed my head to them.

"Leave." King Asher told Matthias and he had no choice but to leave the room. The others followed him out and the King and Queen came over to the bed and sat on the chairs beside it.

"We're sorry about that Ashton and Glenn, we were with the doctor talking about what Matthias has to do to help Ashton and heard the yelling when we came out of his office." The Queen said as she rubbed Ashtons arm gently.

"I don't know who they think they are but that didn't need to happen, that Matthias guy scared Ashton so bad he was shaking and he needs his bedding changed because of it." I said and they looked to see Ashton had wet the bed and King Asher went out of the room to, I guess, tell a nurse.

"We're going to handle them and get this done. Once Ashton is cured, we all can talk about this whole mess." Queen Ashley said and King Asher walked back in with the new bedding along with a clean gown for Ashton.

I picked Ashton up and carried him into the bathroom to get him cleaned up as best I could with all the tubes attached to him.

As I finished giving him a sponge bath, and got him changed. I got him back to the newly changed bed and they began to give him the venom from the arrogant Alpha. It took a few minutes to an hour to work through his system but it did it’s job and he looked brighter in color and not so ill. I’m sure over time he’ll be as good as new and so I wheeled him to the King’s office where everyone was waiting.

When we arrived I sighed at the sound of King Asher having to show his Dominance under these circumstances.

“I invite you to this country in hopes to heal my son, you’re a grown man and here you play tug of war with a man who has done everything he could to help my son. All you two have done thus far is cause my son more misery. I have half a mind to ban you from this country but my better half has agreed it wouldn’t do anyone any good in the end so my next option is to file a temporary restraining order until Ashton is ready to see you both.” King said and I wheeled in Ashton.

The moment they saw him, the King and Queen were at his sides and hugged him and kissed him, telling him how happy they were he's going to be ok and had happy tears instead of tears of pain and they looked relieved, much like myself.

"You can't keep me from my mate, King or not." Matthias growled out and Ashton was shaking in fear again and I put my hand on his shoulder to help him calm down some.

"Just leave Matthias, you have done nothing but hurt me in one way or the other and I don't want to see you, not when I'm so scared to be near you. You claim I'm your mate but you act like this. A mate doesn't cause the one they love harm, they protect their mate at all costs but all you have done is cause me heartache and misery. Leave." Ashton spoke up before King Asher could.

"You heard the future King, leave. We will send word whenever he decides to see you again, if he does." The Queen said this time.

“We respect your decision, King Asher and Queen Ashley.” Ajax said with a bow and I looked at him. He has a good head on his shoulders. I should tell Alpha Adon to reach out to him so we can have a treaty with him. He reminds me of my dad.

As the group left King Asher’s office, I told them the events that lead to the ‘tug of war’ as he said. He didn’t like it one bit that a grown man would act so out of character when he has harmed his son in so many ways. Maybe I am worthy after all. That thought alone brought a smile to my face and I made a vow to do my honest duty as Asthon’s mate and be the best mate I can be.

“Thank you Glenn for all you’ve done for this family and my son. The country is in your debt.” King Asher smiled and I all but passed out. That’s like…the highest and best compliment I have ever gotten and from a royal no less.

As we just stared at each other with smiles. The King cleared his throat and looked over at his son.

“He’s gained some color back. I’m positive this was a great move although a stressful one. Again, I’m sorry about that. Hopefully with time and rest he’ll be as good as new.” The King smiled

“Please get my son out of here so he may rest. I think my husband has said it all. As unexpected as this all has been and as stressful as this situation has been. No one may have been able to help him but Matthias himself.” Queen Ashley smiled and I bowed and wheeled my mate to his main room.

“Glenn, wait up.” I came to a stop as I heard a voice and turned in the direction it came.

“I want to formally apologize to you as I understand what it’s like to see a sick mate suffer. I hope you all can build a bond that’s unbreakable.” Ajax smiled and gave me a card.

“With all due respect Alpha Ajax, It’s not you who should apologize, it's Matthias and it should be to Ashton. I doubt though we all will bond, I don't want anyone besides Ashton, I'm not bound to them, only he is. It's his choice if he even still wants them as his mates at this point. You’re a great man and Alpha, I feel it in my core being that you’re a great person and make people proud. Thank you though for the apology.” I said and smiled.

“Call me anytime and I’ll do all I can to help you both.” He said as he jogged away and I smiled to myself. He’s definitely going to be a great father.

As I got Ashton in bed I just cuddled with him and let my heated body comfort him. That’s body heat by the way perverts. I can’t wait until Ashton is back to normal, I want to do so much with him, to him and for him. I love him so much.

"Glenn?" Ashton whispered as he was laying on my chest, my arm around him and holding him close. I kissed his head and he looked up at me.

"Yes beautiful?"

"Thank you, for everything. You were my rock through all of this and I am so grateful for you, for all you have done for me. I love you." He said and I smiled and kissed him, deeply. That's the first time he's said I love you to me.

"Gosh I love you too Ashton, so much. You don't have to thank me for being here, it's my job as your mate to be here, to take care of you, to do anything I possibly can for you. That is a promise I will never break Ashton Blake Cooke, from the moment I met you until my last breath, you will always come first." I said and he bit his lip and his cheeks went a deep red.

"I haven't come in a long time." He said as he put his hand under my shirt and kissed my neck.

"As much as I want to keep going because Lord knows how bad I want you, you are still healing and need to rest but I promise, when you are better, I will make you cum as many times as your body can." I said and he sighed but stopped kissing my neck but left his hand on my chest over my heart.

"Ok, that should be in the morning." He gave a cheeky grin and I chuckled.

"Yes Prince Ashton." I growled lowly and he shivered in my arms and I could smell how turned on he was and I wasn't any better.

"Get some sleep because when you wake up, we won't be leaving this bed." I kissed him and he laid back on my chest and I held him as I felt my body growing tired and whispered I love you too my sleeping beautiful Prince.
