TWO.
Jennie lets out a small groan as she shoves her face into her pillow, trying to block out the filtering sunlight from her grand windows. Jennie had a light headache from the night before, and her body is a bit sore from dancing, but it doesn't stop the smile from overtaking her face from the memories of the night.
Lisa.
Jennie actually squeals into her pillow at the thought of her name. Last night felt like a glorious dream made of dust and moonlight. Too perfect to be true, Jennie almost wouldn't believe it, if Lisa hadn't left her her pocket watch. Jennie throws her hand out, patting around the bed for the watch. Her fingers feel the hard, circular shape and bring it up to her face to look at.
Jennie holds it above her face with the chain. Intricate carving detail on the silver watch can be seen in the sunlight. It certainly has been through many things. Some details have been worn down by constant rubbing and there are quite a few scratches on the outside shell. Jennie presses the button to open the cover, staring at it with heavy, barely awake eyes. The inside is also slightly tarnished from heavy use with a greying glass. Jennie wasn't able to see all these small details last night when she was too busy saying goodbye to Lisa.
After Jennie had tried every trick to delay Lisa's departure, begging for another dance, trying to get her to tell more stories, she had worked herself into a small mood. Lisa noticed and was very worried, it pained her to see Jennie so sullen, she was about to cancel her important meeting but Jennie snapped herself out of it. She was being dramatic.
Jennie quickly fixed her mood and reassured Lisa she'd be fine with a wet waterline. They stood at the doorsteps to Jennie's house as Jisoo and Chaeyoung stood in the doorway, watching over as they said their goodbyes. Jennie could tell she wasn't hiding her emotions as well as she should because Lisa still wouldn't budge from the steps. Lisa held her hands tightly, eyebrows creased and a frown on her face as she searched over Jennie's face.
"I promise, I'm fine. I was just being dramatic again, my love." Jennie reassures, for the hundredth time.
Before it was Jennie begging Lisa to stay. Now it was Jennie begging Lisa to leave. Lisa doesn't look convinced as she reaches into her suit pocket and pulls out the pocket watch she used before.
"Here, keep this with you at all times. It's a physical manifestation of my promise to see you as soon as I can." Lisa said, as she put the watch into her hands. "It's a very important watch, passed down my family line and used by each person, so you know I'll be back for you. In the meantime, keep it safe."
Jennie nods determinedly as she cups the watch, ready to take great care of it. "I will,"
Lisa smiles as she sees the sad emotions on Jennie's face be wiped away by determination. "I know you will, cara mia."
After that, Lisa planted a kiss on her forehead and headed off in her vintage car. Jennie stood on the doorsteps watching the car leave until it blended in with the dark cloak of night.
Now, the morning after, she hasn't let the watch leave her body. She spent the rest of the night with her sisters, watch in hand, and went to sleep with it clasped to her chest. The big smile on her face wouldn't leave.
Jennie is so happy, the lull of sleepiness has completely disappeared. She lays, spread out like a starfish, on her huge bed, made for more than one person but Jennie liked the space.
One side of her bed was against a dark, glossy wall, and was parallel to the balcony doors that ran along the long side of her L-shaped room. On each side of the balcony doors were several big window panels, framed with dark wood, that let in lots of natural light during the day and allowed Jennie to see the sky at night. To her right was her big vanity table and an emerald green chair beside her racks of clothing. To her left was the short jut of the L-shape room where one door led to the hallway and the other to her ensuite. In the corner was her grand, full body mirror and on each side of her bed were bedside tables.
Most of the decor was dark to fit the theme, but what brought a sense of coziness to her room was the small details. Jennie's balcony had green vines weaving everywhere and the comfy seating area brought a sense of ease to the room. Jennie's usually messy bed, thrown about clothes, and unorganized vanity reminded her that the room was thoroughly lived in. Since she lived on the highest floor it was also very quiet, so she liked to fill the space with music from her record player and light it with candles.
The morning sun was very bright coming into her room. It made the dark sheets on her bed seem grey. Jennie took a deep breath as she sat. Since she was awake she might as well get ready for the day.
She walked over to her bathroom, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Unlike her room, her bathroom had some more colour with emerald green and white tiles and bronze visible piping. The main attraction was her huge tub, with enough room for three people, and the walk-in standing shower with multiple jets. The house may be ancient but the amenities were certainly not. Her family knew how to live in style.
"Good morning, November. Did you have fun last night?" Jennie says, voice gravely as she looks into the mirror.
Amid the mess of her bedhead, Jennie spotted November crawling about. She could feel small tugs here and there from her movements. She picked her up and placed her along the mirror edge. Jennie smiled as she watched her move about, spelling something with her web.
In the meantime, Jennie went to work on herself, taming her hair and washing up. Once she was done, she walked over to her rack of clothing picking out the outfit for today. She checked herself over in the body mirror, turning her body side to side.
She went for a simple outfit today. A two piece set in her signature colour, of course. The top was a sleeveless crop top that ended around her sternum and hugged her chest tightly. The bottom was a straight fabric skirt with two slits along her legs that went up to her hips, leaving a rectangle of fabric between her legs. She added some cross body, silver chains and her usual silver face jewelry, then attached the pocket watch so that it hung around her hips. She walked back into the bathroom to find that November had written 'FUN' with her web.
"I'm glad," She says, as she picks up November and puts her along her ear. "I had a pretty magical night as well but I'm sure you saw it all."
Sometimes, she and November communicated through web writing, but most times Jennie could just tell what she was saying.
"Let's go for breakfast. I wonder what they tried to make,"
They head through the uniform hallways and past numerous doors that led to who knows where. Jennie could hear the faint echoes of Jisoo humming a nonsense tune, which she followed to the kitchens and solarium.
"Goodmorning Jendeukie," Jisoo immediately greeted her as she entered the room.
"Morning,"
Jennie entered through the side door that was located between the solarium and kitchen. She found Jisoo with her hair tied up, sitting at the table in the solarium, under the sunlight. She was reading a newspaper with an empty plate discarded to the side.
"Chaeng made my favorite: burnt benedict." Jisoo mentions. "Try some."
Jennie looked to the other side of the room, where the kitchen was, and found Chaeyoung's elbows deep in dishes. The kitchen was huge since it's centuries old when servants used to do the cooking. It was one big room with lots of exposed brick, weathered by old age and smoke. The kitchen could fit multiple chefs if needed, since it was designed for hoards of workers, but now it was only used by a few.
On one side of the room, across the main cooking area, was the solarium made of a wall of windows that curved at the top. It had many herbs and vegetables, grown by her family, used for cooking and a dining area where they usually had breakfast and lunch. The solarium looked out to the forest, displaying the colourful trees.
Jennie walked over to the kitchen area and served herself some benedict before sitting beside Jisoo. She let November down so that she could go hunt some food as well.
"You had quite the night," Jisoo voiced over the top of her newspaper. "Everyone couldn't stop talking about you and Lisa, mentioning what an attractive couple you two are."
Jennie blushes. "Oh, unnie, that's not true. It was yours and Chaeyoung's night, you guys were the stars."
"Please, everybody knew Chaeng and I were basically married already. The ceremony only confirms it on paper."
"I guess," Jennie retorts, as she cuts into her food.
"How is it?" Chaeyoung asks, as she comes over, sitting beside Jisoo with her own plate of food.
"Perfectly burnt, lovie. Amazing job." Jisoo replies, as she leans over to kiss her cheek.
Chaeyoung lets out a shy smile as she digs into her food.
"So how do both of you know Lisa but I've never met her before?" Jennie questions.
Jisoo folds up the newspaper and places it onto the table. "Hm, well I guess it was just bad timing."
"I guess it was." Chaeyoung pauses as she swallows down a bite. "You were away at Hexes and Curses School while Lisa was still spending the majority of her time travelling and in the Bermuda Triangle."
"She only visited a few times and even then it was very brief because she was such a busy woman." Jisoo adds.
"That's why my main form of communication was letters or the occasional email when it got too hard to reach her."
Jennie hums in acknowledgement.
"But of course she knew all about you, since I wrote about you all the time. I guess it just happened that you two never met." Chaeyoung concludes.
"How did I know almost nothing about her then?"
"Jendeukie, we talked about her all the time, you just weren't listening." Jisoo chortles.
Jennie tries to rack her brain for mentions of Lisa and does vaguely remember her family going on and on about some old friend that must have been Lisa.
"You guys always said she was some old friend, I thought you meant like an old family friend! I thought she was a hundred years old, not your age." Jennie huffs. "Plus with the number of achievements she's accomplished it added to the idea that she was old."
Jisoo guffaw as she reaches for her cup of coffee. "I guess it was all some major coincidences that you somehow never met Lisa."
"Unnie, how do you know Lisa?"
"Disciplinary school for children. Remember when I was sent away for a few years when you were a child? We were best mates there but then slowly lost connection over time as we grew up. It was a miracle, actually, that we both knew Lisa." Jisoo says. "It was through Chaeyoung that I was able to reconnect with Lisa. We call every week, none of that writing letters nonsense."
"Writing letters is a sincere art form. It's almost like meditation." Chaeyoung defends. "You loved the letters I wrote for you."
"Yes, dear, they were truly thoughtful but telephones are just so much easier."
"Somehow I really missed out on knowing Lisa sooner." Jennie remarks, in between their talking.
"Yes, but that doesn't matter now." Jisoo says, "Look at you two now. It was like you were made for each other. I've never seen you so captivated, Jennie."
"Souls don't meet by accident." Chaeyoung utters. "It must have been fate that you two didn't fully meet until last night."
"And you were so happy. Your eyes barely left her."
"I was," Jennie replies, eyes glazing over as the memory of her first seeing Lisa comes to mind. "She took my breath away."
"What do you think, Jennie? Is she the one? Finally after years, do you think you've found the one?" Jisoo asks, eyes wide with excitement.
"I do. I really think so." She says, cheeks flushing with a wide smile.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you, dear unnie. Lisa is the perfect addition to our family and the perfect partner for you." Chaeyoung says, smiling at her.
Jisoo reaches for Jennie's hand and gives it a tight squeeze.
"Plus, it helps that she's incredibly wealthy and successful." Jisoo adds, with a sly wink.
"Oh, unnie, you know that doesn't matter."
"True, it does not, but it's always a nice bonus."
Jennie throws her head back and laughs.
"Chaeng and I will be going to the market to pick up some groceries today, anything you need?"
"If you could get some star anise and nutmeg, that would be perfect. Oh, and maybe some dynamite? I think we're running low."
"Of course."
"Thanks"
Jennie finishes the crumbs off her plate before washing her dishes.
"You know where to find me!" She shouts to her sisters as she leaves the kitchen. "November, I'll meet you at the greenhouse!"
Jennie stops by her study to find her dagger. She took it off for the celebration last night so that it wouldn't get in the way when dancing. It's the perfect multitasking tool used for rituals, sacrifices, embalming, and gardening!
Her study is more or less a square room with messy bookshelves running along the entirety of two walls and a large window facing the door. She has a desk with piles of paper and books thrown about and her smaller potion station. Jennie finds it under a pile of loose papers after shuffling things around.
She grabs it and heads off to the greenhouse, skipping down the halls while whistling. The greenhouse was where she spent most of her time, tending to her plants. It was large and beautiful and filled with so much green that it took both her and Chaeyoung hours upon hours everyday to care for everything. The greenhouse was attached to the house but to preserve the temperature and sunlight it could only be entered by one door on an assuming wall. Anyone passing by could easily assume it led to another room of the house, unless you knew.
The greenhouse was shaped like a cross with the short end forming a dome. The lower half of the building was made out of layered stone with a rounded ceiling, all made of glass, supported with a black, wooden frame. The door from the house opened to the longest section of the cross with wooden benches and shelves running along each side.
Here is where Jennie and Chaeyoung propagated plants or kept any potted plants that lined the shelves running taller than Chaeyoung. Leaves spilled over the shelves, creating a cascading green network.
Jennie walked along the benches, touching plants here and there to feel how they were doing. She followed the black and white checkered floor to the intersection where a seating area was placed underneath a dome. The golden sun shone directly over the dome, warming the plush cushions and coffee tables. Jennie could be found in this very seating area hours a day, reading or enjoying lunch.
The left section of the cross was multi-coloured, filled with flowers and fruiting plants taking up any available space. At the very end was a tangerine tree, gorgeous gem-coloured fruit hanging heavy on their branches, taking up its own space. To the right of the cross was a sea of green shades. This was where she did her heavy work. It was filled with a variety of poisonous plants that she worked with, extracted poison from, or experimented with. A work bench could be found at the end where she conducted her experiments. It was covered in loose notes, tools, and potion jars.
Jennie walked over and got to her maintenance routine. She carefully tended to each of her plants, talking to them along the way. She recounted her night, telling a detailed account of how she met Lisa and fell for her instantly. The connection, the dancing, the feeling of her hands on her body. Jennie was lost in the story, body working automatically on her plants.
"Then the confetti started falling and it was so magical. It felt like everything stopped, as if Satan stopped time." Jennie says, as she harvested some Nightshade berries into her jar. "It was absolutely perfect. Nothing has felt more right than being in Lisa's arms."
Jennie sighs as she closes the jar. "It's been less than a day but I desperately want to see her again." She looks at her vibrant Oleander flowers. "Do you think she feels the same?"
Her flowers stay silent.
"I hope I'm not being too much or going too fast."
Jennie bites the inside of her cheek as anxiety blooms in her chest.
"Oh dear. Maybe I was too much. Maybe I was reading the signs all wrong."
The pounding of her heart seems to grow a thousand times stronger, the feeling radiating through her chest. Her body feels too hot and her thoughts are filtering through her mind a mile a minute. The seed of negative grew quickly in her mind, the roots planted deep and the stems overtaking anything else.
Even Jisoo and Chaeyoung noticed their connection, that must mean something. Jennie didn't misread her actions. Lisa seemed very genuine with Jennie. She wasn't pretending. Jennie hoped not.
Jennie spiraled deeper into her thoughts as she worked on her plants, not paying attention to the sun slowly making its way across the sky. Jennie was so caught up in her worries that she almost missed the faint whistling of a knife being thrown.
Almost.
Jennie tilts her head just slightly to the left as she worries her lip, missing the knife that lodged itself into the nearby wall.
"Jisoo unnie, about last night. Do you thinkㅡ" Jennie didn't got to finish, turning toward the direction from where the knife was thrown.
Her sullen words are cut off as she catches sight of who threw the knife.
"Lisa!"
She runs at full speed towards the woman, standing there casually with a toothy smile on her lips. Jennie jumps the last few steps, wrapping her arms around her neck as Lisa catches her at the waist.
"You're here!" Jennie exclaims, into her shoulder.
Lisa laughs heartily as she spins Jennie around, keeping her off the ground.
"Yes, my darling. I've made it back to your arms, just as I promised."
The surge of joy through Jennie wipes away all the negative doubts from her mind. She feels so light in her arms, the warmth from Lisa's body soothing her anxious mind.
Lisa sets her back onto her feet but they do not separate, arms wound tightly around each other.
"I thought I wouldn't be able to see you again for a few more days." Jennie mumbles, as she stares into Lisa's inky doe eyes.
"After my meeting this morning, I made sure to clear my entire schedule this week so I could spend more time with you." Lisa says, as her hands grip the sliver of bare back between her crop shirt and skirt.
Jennie sighs dreamily as she melts into Lisa's chest. "Really? You went through all that trouble for me?"
"It is no trouble at all, my moon. I have found you and now I cannot bear to spend so much time apart from you."
"Truly?"
"Of course."
Jennie smiles widely at her words, cheeks bunching so hard. She can see the honesty shining in Lisa's eyes, her face poised in earnesty for Jennie to believe her. Jennie takes the moment to quickly twist her body around, planting one leg in between Lisa's. She tightens her grip on Lisa's neck and flips her over the side of her body. Lisa is momentarily stunned as she lands on the floor on her back. Jennie takes the moment to press her knee into her chest and whips out her knife to press it against Lisa's neck.
"I'm so happy you're here," Jennie spokes, from above her.
Lisa grins playfully as she regains her bearings, eyebrows slightly slanted in surprise. Lisa uses her arms to push Jennie's lower body off of her, using her briefly freed legs to finish the momentum, flipping Jennie over top of her. Lisa follows Jennie, quickly pinning each arm down with a hand.
Now it was Jennie's turn to be surprised, staring wide eyed up at Lisa above her. Lisa has most of her body pinned expertly to the floor, not enough mobility in her legs to try and get her off. The hand holding her knife can't do anything either as Lisa has it completely immobilized.
Lisa looks down at her with a gloating smirk on her face because she knows Jennie can't get out of this.
Jennie tries to fight against Lisa, body jerking against her restraints, but it's to no avail as she can't move. She can see the smirking growing, amused at her resistance, but Jennie is stubborn and competitive. She needs to win.
Lisa stays unbothered as Jennie grows more insistent beneath her, brows creased in concentration as she tries to figure a way out of her arms. Lisa only grows more fond seeing the determination in her face.
Jennie is so caught up with trying to escape that Lisa catches her by surprise again, slotting their lips together. Her eyes grow wide as she feels the softness of Lisa's lips. She thought she might have been exaggerating how soft they felt against hers, but she was wrong. Lisa's lips were extremely soft and warm and smooth. Jennie's eyes fall shut as she overcomes her momentary surprise, responding to Lisa.
Jennie tilts her head closer, desperate to feel Lisa impossibly closer to her, but Lisa is still restraining her movement. Jennie grows needy as she increases the pressure of her lips against Lisa. They're lips are moving rapidly, wetting with saliva. Lisa releases Jennie's arms so that they can wrap around her neck, bringing them even closer together. Jennie feels the neediness overtake any logical thought she had before. She needed to feel Lisa against her, the warmth from her body underneath her fingertips; the beating of her heart that belonged to Jennie. Lisa was hers, she could feel it in her bones.
Lisa parts with a gasp, chest heaving as she stares down at Jennie. With her hair laid out around her like black rays, flushed cheeks, and saliva-slicked, berry-red lips, Jennie looked like the incubus sent to enslave Lisa, and she did so successfully, Lisa ready to give her everything.
Jennie still has the need to win, buried underneath her racing heart. She quickly flips Lisa over so that she's straddling her waist, hands sprayed over her chest. Lisa doesn't bother resisting this time, more than happy to see Jennie on top of her. She simply rests her hands on Jennie's bare thighs, on display from the slits in her skirt.
"I win." Jennie mumbles, in-between breaths.
Lisa smiles in amusement, eyes soft as she watches Jennie triumph in her win.
"You did." Lisa drags her palm along the milky skin of Jennie's thighs. "Although, if this is how you win, I would be more than happy to lose every single time."
"You brute." Jennie lightly smacks Lisa's chest, hiding her red cheeks.
Jennie rises from her spot on Lisa's waist, sliding the knife onto her thigh garter. She dusts off the wrinkles from her skirt before extending a hand to Lisa.
As Lisa took her hand, she shook off the slight dirt on her pants and stood up straight. Now their faces were aligned, noses barely brushing as they stared into each other's eyes.
"How are you, darling?"
"I missed you terribly. More than I probably should have."
"I missed you too. Do not fret as I missed you a thousand times more than you could possibly imagine."
"Not possible," Jennie utters, a small smile on her face.
Lisa drops a quick kiss against her smiling lips. "It is true."
Jennie chuckles as Lisa pulls back. "Alright, come. Let me show you around."
Lisa releases her hand but keeps the other on her lower back as Jennie walks them around.
"You've already seen this section, the preparation area." Jennie says, as she gestures toward the long wooden tables and benches filled with pots.
Jennie directs them around the central seating area, towards the fruiting flowers.
"This is where we plant most of our edibles."
Jennie pushes aside some nearby leaves to reveal a round, plump, orange pumpkin.
"That looks amazing," Lisa says, eyebrows raised. "You have incredible talent, love. All these plants look well taken care of and are flourishing amazingly well."
"It's not much really. Both Chaeyoung and I care for the garden; she's the one with the green thumb. Each of the plants are like her children that she pays special attention to."
"Do not discredit yourself so easily. It clearly takes more than one person to keep this greenhouse running and feeding the family."
Jennie peaks shyly at Lisa through her lashes. "I guess so"
Jennie takes her further into the section, pointing out the variety of tomatoes and berries.
"This is the crown jewels of the garden," Jennie says, looking at the tangerine tree. "She always gives us the best tangerines, each year. Extremely reliable this one."
"May I?" Lisa asks, reaching for a fruit.
Jennie hums her approval, watching Lisa pluck a nearby fruit. She brings it to her nose, sniffing the citrus, before pocketing it in her coat.
"Now, this side is the fun part, but I am biased," Jennie says, pulling Lisa along.
"They're my babies. All poisonous in one form or the other, of course. Some bougainvillaea and azalea here," Jennie pointed out the deep pink flowers. "Aren't they beautiful, I just love their shade."
"Over here, some foxgloves, water hemlock, and these precious little lilies" Jennie says, brushing past some small white, bell shaped-flowers.
The entire time Lisa watched her with a fond smile on her lips, thumb rubbing soothingly on the patch of her exposed waist, as she listened to Jennke talk about her plants. Lisa delighted in seeing the way Jennie's eyes went wide with excitement as she pointed out each flower for Lisa, confidently telling her a quick rundown on them.
"And of course, the garden wouldn't be complete without some nightshade," She says, coming to a stop at her desk.
"I usually collect them to study or for my potions. Or I just find them extremely beautiful." Jennie rambles, looking around at her huge collection as she leans her hip against the desk.
"Each plant here is incredibly complex and beautiful, I could study them forever and still not know enough. Chaeng also works with them but doesn't study them as much. She likes to leave that to me. Of course there's more but I would take up all your time trying to show you them all. I'm sure you wouldn't want to waste so much time listening to me talk about my plants." Jennie finishes, slightly winded from talking so quickly.
Lisa tried to pay attention to each flower pointed out but she was too captivated by Jennie, the prettiest flower of them all.
"Not at all, my love, continue, please."
Jennie looks at her pointedly. "You're just teasing,"
"Am not, please continue about this plant here," Lisa insisted, pointing behind her in a random direction.
Jennie laughs at the earnesty in Lisa's face. She knew Lisa spent the majority of her little presentation staring at her face instead of the flowers.
Jennie leans in to plant a quick kiss on her cheek. "Come let us sit for a bit,"
They walk over to the seating area where Lisa settles herself in the plush cushions, motioning for Jennie to curl up beside her. Jennie gladly sits beside Lisa, leaning into her side as Lisa wraps an arm around her shoulders.
"My moonflower [A/N: not the moonflower flower, just combined moon + flower just though it's cute :o], I hope to spend every waking moment with you this week. Is that okay?" Lisa asks, reaching into her coat pocket for the tangerine.
"Of course, I wouldn't want to do anything else." Jennie replies, watching Lisa peel the tangerine with her long-elegant fingers. "I'm sure Jisoo unnie and Chaeng would love to see you around more. I can show you around the house and grounds. We can visit the rest of my family as well!"
"I thought I already met your entire clan at the celebrations last night,"
"Only those above ground!"
"Ah, of course." Lisa says, eyes round with realization as she holds out a piece of tangerine for her.
Jennie takes the piece with her mouth, humming pleasantly at the sweet and citrusness. Lisa's eyes crinkle a bit watching Jennie eat, before trying a piece herself.
"You were right, dearest, this is truly the best tangerine I've ever had."
"Yes, she never disappoints."
They quickly devour the tangerine, Lisa alternates feeding between them. Jennie notices a flash of light in the corner of her eye.
"Ah! November, there you are dear." Jennie shouts, walking over to a juncture between two sections of the cross.
November was in one of her webs, feasting on a new victim. Jennie held out her hand, near enough for her to crawl on.
"Are you enjoying lunch?" She coos.
"Come, I want you to meet someone important," She whispers, walking back to Lisa.
As she approaches she sees Lisa straighten up a bit, looking curiously at her spider.
"Lisa," Jennie says, sitting down. "This is my dear friend and companion, November."
She brings her hand towards Lisa, where November sits waiting on the back.
"Hello," Lisa says quietly, looking at November nervously. "My name is Lisa Manoban. I'll be in your good care, Miss November."
Lisa stands up and does a full bow, bending at the waist.
"May I?" Lisa asks, holding out one hand.
Jennie lifts her hand so that it's touching Lisa's. She waits with bated breath to see if November will move to Lisa.
November has always been extremely protective of her. Jennie thinks it must be because November has seen her cry one too many times over new people she's tried to meet. Unless they were family, November was generally not too welcoming to strangers. Which is why Jennie was so nervous as she watched her on Lisa's hand. She hoped November would approve because she trusted her instincts completely. If November didn't approve of Lisa, she doesn't know what she would do.
November stops right before the area where Jennie and Lisa's hands meet. She seems to crawl around a bit, laying a few legs onto Lisa's skin, before removing them. Their eyes are glued on the little widow, both silent as they wait for her decision.
Jennie lets out a sigh of relief as November crawls over to Lisa. The small tension she had in her shoulders, that she hadn't noticed, releases itself and Jennie can finally smile, relieved. Lisa looks just as shocked to have November crawling around her hand, eyes wide and eyebrows raised.
November makes her way up Lisa's coat clad arm before taking a pause on her shoulder.
"Oh! I think she really likes you!" Jennie squeals, hands clapping in delight.
Jennie watches with a pleased expression as November makes herself at home on Lisa's shoulder, burrowing into the creases and folds.
"I'm glad," Lisa replies, carefully relaxing back into the cushions.
Jennie's eyes crinkle as she leans into Lisa's side, waving a finger in front of November.
"I have a partner too, Octavius. Quite the dashing young man."
"A spider?"
"Mhm, a panther."
"Ah, fitting."
"Yes, he's at one of my abodes right now. It's a bit hard to travel with him, quite the cranky one, but I would love to introduce you to him."
"I would love to meet him," Jennie exclaims, face lighting up with excitement.
With Jennie looking like that, Lisa could never deny her anything. "One day, my darling, you shall. I promise."
Jennie notices the sun is much lower in the sky, just above the treeline, filling the sky with a softer light. It must be late afternoon by now, almost dinner.
"November, come." Jennie says, laying her hand on Lisa's shoulder. "Let's find my family. I'm sure unnie and Chaeyoung would love to see you again."
Jennie waits for November to crawl over, but she does not. Instead she crawls into Lisa's hair.
"Hm, do you mind? She seems to like you very much." Jennie remarks, eyebrows furrowing a bit.
"Not at all,"
"Perfect."
Lisa carefully gets up and offers her arm to her moonflower. Jennie melts a bit internally at how hauntingly-devilishly gorgeous Lisa is. She looked dashing as well, with her black turtleneck paired with black pants and long coat, accentuated with a leather belt and silver earrings.
Somehow, this unearthly being was her.
Jennie accepted her arm, before she was dragged up against Lisa's side, arm wrapping around her waist, fingers resting on her bare skin. They glided off to find the rest of their family.
