THREE.

"Lisa, you must stay over!" Jisoo shouts from her seat at the table.

The sun had long set and the moon had begun its journey across the starry sky. They were seated in one of their informal dining rooms. This one had an intricate flower and tree patterned wallpaper accentuated by hints of bronze and many picture frames filling one wall. There was a raging fireplace going on one wall and windows framed by heavy curtains, looking out over the cliff, on the other wall.

They were seated at a decently sized, dark wood, square table, meant only for four people. The room was lit with a chandelier hanging above and some candles at the center. The family of four were almost finished with their main course. Dinner had been broken up with many bursts of conversation, the candles in the center had to be replaced once because dinner had extended for so long.

Everyone took up one side of the table. Jisoo and Chaeyoung had their hands clasped together on the table as Jisoo probed Lisa.

"Come on, Lisa! You took the whole week off to see Jendeuk, might as well make the best of every hour and just stay here with us," Jisoo exclaims, resting her chin against her free hand. "No one would mind right?"

Both Chaeyoung and Jennie immediately shake their heads, more than happy to have Lisa staying over for the duration of the week.

"Yes, mon chéri, I wouldn't mind seeing you every hour of the week." Jennie adds, she looked at Lisa as she put her hand on her thigh.

"I don't have anything with me right now," Lisa says, sullenly.

"You can borrow our stuff." Jisoo says.

"For a week?"

"Yes!"

"I couldn't do that. It's too much,"

"But I really want you to stay over," Jennie pouts, face dropping with disappointment.

Lisa's heart aches as she sees her darling deflate in her seat.

"I'll go home tonight, but tomorrow I'll come back with my stuff for the rest of the week. How's that?" Lisa says, hoping to cheer Jennie up.

It works because Jennie perks up at the idea. "Okay! I'll take that."

"It's settled! A full house." Jisoo wiggles in her seat at the excitement.

"Cheers!" Chaeyoung holds up her wine glass.

"Cheers!" Everyone shouts back in unison, as they clink their glasses together.

Jennie feels her heart full with content as she looks around the table at her family. The light from the candle gives the image a warm glow. Their plates almost empty, utensils laying on their plates, wine glasses almost empty as well. The newlyweds chuckling as Lisa tells a story of how she once stabbed her prison guard with a glass. The warmth from the fire reaching her feet, the crackling of wood creating a nice background noise. Jisoo lifts Chaeyoung's hand to give her knuckles a quick kiss, and Chaeyoung takes a moment from listening to Lisa's story to give her a warm smile. Lisa threw her a questioning look as she noticed Jennie was off in her own world but Jennie sent her a reassuring smile.

This was her family and it was all she needed.

"I'll get dessert," Chaeyoung says, getting up from her chair.

"Thank you dearest," Jisoo softly uttered, eyes fixated on her wife as she exited the room.

"So... how's being a married woman, Kim Jisoo?" Lisa asks with a teasing raise of her eyebrow.

"Ohㅡ Hush, nothing has really changed. It's just official on paper, you know that." Jisoo exclaims, waving Lisa off.

"Not true. Now they keep referring to each other as 'my wife' and won't stop. You'll be sick of it by the end of the week." Jennie groaned.

"As if you two are any better. 'My love', 'darling', 'my moon', 'cara mia', 'mon chéri', blah blah blah, you two won't stop."

"Clearly, we are just fools in love." Lisa concedes with a playful grin, her eyes sparkling mischievously. She winks at Jennie before raising her glass to take a sip of her drink. Jennie's cheeks flush a soft pink as she shyly looks down, a smile tugging at her lips. Unable to hide her delight, Jennie lightly kicks Lisa's shin under the table, their legs tangling briefly.

Jisoo rolls her eyes playfully at them as Chaeyoung comes back in with a platter of cake.

"Jennie's specialty! Elderberry cake."

Chaeyoung puts the platter near the center of a table, revealing a deep purple cake topped with a white frosting and flower petals.

"Looks delicious, my love." Lisa compliments.

Jisoo playfully nudges her shoulder at the term of endearment, which Lisa brushes off with a joking smile.

"Please, dig in."

As they were enjoying their slices of cake, Lisa brought up another topic.

"So, Chu, Chaeng," she mentions, looking at each of them pointedly. "Kids?"

Both newlyweds paused their bites, Jisoo paused her hand midway to her mouth. They gave each other a side glance before Chaeyoung swallowed her bite.

"We are thinking about it," Chaeyoung says, carefully.

"We would love to expand the clan," Jisoo adds.

Chaeyoung nods her head in clear agreement. "Yes, but we decided one step at a time. There will be a time for it to happen, and when it does we will be ready, but not right now."

"Enough about us though, how about you two huh?" Jisoo says, flipping the topic.

"Kids?" Jennie questions, confused.

"Yes, and more," Jisoo replies.

Jennie blushes at the implication. "Oh."

She looks towards Lisa who stares back with a teasing smile on her lips.

"One step at a time, yeah?"

Jisoo seems to be happy with that response because she does not probe anymore.

"You know what Lisa, bring Octavius with you tomorrow. I'm sure he would be lonely without you for a week at home." Chaeyoung comments, cleaning up her piece of cake. "We have more than enough space for him and we can accommodate anything he needs. I'm sure Noodle would love more company, other than November."

"That's true." Jennie agrees.

She looks to the corner where Noodle is curled up near the fire, the light creating hints of rainbow on its scales, and up in the corner, November is having her own dinner.

"Octavius will fit right in,"

"And we can take more time showing you around the house and outside."

"Yes, Jennie mentioned wanting to give me a tour."

"I'm sure one day, you'll have to give her a tour of your many houses."

"Where are some of your houses, Lisa?"

"One in town where Octavius is currently, we can visit it another day." Lisa assures. "One in the Bermuda Triangle, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Where my major auction houses are, essentially."

Chaeyoung whistles. "Wow, your business has really grown."

"You should know, Chae, you own like half of it." Lisa remarks, eyes twinkling.

Chaeyoung giggles. "Right."

The night moves along slowly, as if the moment was once again suspended in time. Jennie thinks Lisa just has that effect. That makes time seem irrelevant, like the moment will last forever, filled with laughs and never ending conversation.

Eventually, the group does make its way to clean up with Jennie and Lisa doing the dishes while Jisoo and Chaeyoung clean the area. Even then, burdened with new chores, things were still fun. Lisa and Jennie bumping hips as they stand side-by-side washing the dishes. Lisa flicking Jennie's nose with bubbles. Chaeyoung following after Jisoo, like a lost squirrel, as she carries the plates in. The small moments seem to resonate indefinitely in Jennie's mind, etching itself into her heart.

Before she knew it, Jennie was in the same situation she was 24 hours ago. Standing on the stair leading up to her doorstep, the newlyweds wrapped up in each other in the doorway, Lisa's hands in hers as they try to say goodbye.

"You have to leave again," Jennie states, her voice tinged with a defeated tone.

"I do," Lisa responds quietly, looking up at her from a few steps below on the staircase.

"I don't want you to go," Jennie whines, her voice cracking with emotion. She reaches out, grasping the railing tightly as if it could anchor her to the moment, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. The ambiance feels chilly, the distance between them growing with each passing second, despite their physical closeness.

"And I do not want to go, but we talked about this. I'll be back early in the morning and then you can have me all week." Lisa soothes, rubbing her thumbs in indescribable patterns along her skin.

Jennie feels the warmth and fuzziness from a wonderful night slowly being sucked from her soul as Lisa gets further away from her.

She sighs in reluctance, knowing standing here and pouting will change nothing.

"Hey," Lisa says, trying to make eye contact with Jennie's downcast eyes. "You still have my pocket watch, right?"

Jennie nods her head, reluctantly meeting Lisa's eyes.

"Then it's a promise, I will be back." Lisa swear, solemnly.

Jennie gives in and wraps her arms around Lisa's shoulders, burying her face into the crook of her neck.

"Okay..." She mumbles into her shoulder.

Lisa pulls back just enough to slot her lips with Jennie. She melts into the feeling, leaning more heavily onto Lisa who supports her body weight with her arms across her back. The kiss is soft and so gentle. It's nothing more than the touching of their lips, moving together only slightly, but it comforts Jennie immensely. It grounds her in Lisa and fills her body with molten lava. Her bones feel weak but she feels present, nothing else matters. Every little worry vanished in her mind, only the feel of Lisa's lips crossed her thoughts.

Lisa pulls back and rests their foreheads together, breathing in sync. Jennie's eyes are still closed as she relives the feeling of Lisa's lips in her mind over and over again. She can feel Lisa pull back a bit more and Jennie eyes shoot open thinking she's going to leave, but she leans up to kiss her forehead, keeping her lips there for a few moments before pulling back.

Their eyes meet and Jennie sees in them a fondness that softens the edges. She also sees another emotion that Jennie can't quite put her finger on, but she sees how strong it is, bubbling just at the rim, ready to overflow and all consuming.

"I'll see you in a few hours," Lisa whispers, faces just a few inches apart.

"I better." Jennie remarked.

Lisa smirks at her answer before fully pulling away from Jennie.

Just as she did 24 hours ago, she stands on her stairway and watches as Lisa climbs into her car, sending one last wave to them, before getting into her car and driving off. Jennie stays there, watching the backlights of the car disappear into the darkness of the night. Even then, Jisoo has to pull her into the house once the lights have clearly disappeared.

Jennie lays in bed that night, the moonlight shining across her bed, with Lisa's pocket watch in her grip. She turns to her side as she traces the patterns on the outside shell.

"Mon amour." she whispers into the night.
