2. Hot Ninja Jerk
|Breeze|
“Are you sure this is the right place?”
“Yes, ma’am! This is the place. See that’s the board,” the driver pointed his finger behind me “Lakeswan Residence,” he read as I turned back to see that he was right. Right there, was a big board with the same name written very stylish calligraphy.
“Oh!” I mumbled and turned back to face him again “Fine. Here,” I said as I handed him the money his meter was displaying.
After the cab left, dropping me at the place I need to be, my new home to be specific, I inhaled a deep sigh of relief.
Coming back after ten years, I couldn't help but notice the changes this city had gone through. This huge twenty-floor high-rise building, was only on papers when my dad had booked an apartment here and now it is full and flourished.
The Irony is, when last time I was here, I was with my dad, standing in the same place, as I am right now, but today, he isn’t here and he never ever will be either.
Carrying the bag on my shoulder and getting hold of the only suitcase I brought, which literally has a month of clothes and necessary things I’ll need. Aunt Viviana thought differently though, packing three suitcases for me, saying, “You’re a grown up girl, and mind my words, so sexy as fvck. You need to be presentable all time,” quoting her, word by word.
You’ll think she’s crazy. Don’t worry, you just think, but I KNOW the reality. She IS crazy, but adorable at the same time. She’s always so cheerful and so full of life. I wish I could be like her, but even if I want to, I can’t and that’s only because I don't want to. Does it make any sense? No, Right? Well, it doesn't make any sense to me as well.
Just like my life. Senseless and purposeless.
Looking around, I walked inside the building, hauling my suitcase behind. The guard wearing the usual guard uniform was the first person to grace my eyes. Standing straight on his feet, ready for an army salute but weirdly his eyes were shut. Did he even know I was here?
I waved my hand in front of him, but he didn't budge. Instead, he started snoring. I frowned.
What the hell?
Is he sleeping on duty? Wait! But he's standing. How could he~Ugh! People like him just disgust me to no limit, not taking their responsibilities seriously.
Dropping my suitcase, I clapped my hands in front of his face, with the intention of waking him up. And guess what? It did the trick.
“Who-Who's there?”, he suddenly shouted out, startled awake, waving the black stick he had in his hand. I had to jump a step back to avoid getting hit.
“What are you doing, sleeping in your post?”, I asked him, glaring a bit. He needed the intimidation, as I crossed my arms across my chest.
He gulped and tried not to look afraid. I saw tiny beads of sweats forming on his forehead, as he struggled to calm himself down and let out some sane words in his defence.
But I cut him off, “Is this the way you take your responsibility? Who is the head of this building? Call him! I would like to have a word with him.”
“Please Ma'am, it won't happen again,” he told me, his voice pleading. Clearly he was scared of the head, at least I could make that out.
Sighing, I walked past his counter, not before shooting him another best warning glare of mine and entered the hallway. Here, I waited for the lift, leaning against the wall as I did. It was early in the morning, so I decided to spare him, for my sake. I didn't want to get into any sort of heated conversation right on the first day itself.
It's hard to believe that I'm finally here. Since the day I came to know that dad left this property in my name, I was shocked and distressed. As if he knew, what was written in the future. Though, he was a futuristic person, planning and mapping out our whole life, but this was a little too much to handle. How did he even know that…..
The lift dinged open, snapping me out of my melancholic trance. I sighed and wasting no other minute, walked in, trolling my suitcase behind and pressed the seventh floor button as the door closed soon after.
After several people, walked in and out of the lift, finally I made it to my floor. A sigh of relief left my lips, as I walked, looking around to find my allotted apartment. Walking through almost whole corridor, I finally found it but suddenly……I froze.
“Breeze, I'm sorry if daddy isn't spending time with you. Daddy is busy in finding us a gorgeous house,” his words echoed in my mind out of nowhere.
“But daddy, this place isn't that bad. I love it here.”
“I know Breeze, but this place isn't enough and for your better future we need to move to a big city so you can have best education.”
I snapped out of the eerie flashback, this time on my own. Taking a deep breath, I stared at the apartment door.
My new home.
Leaving the suitcase on the floor and shoulder bag too, I shoved out a silver key from my pocket and hesitantly, walked towards the door. I don’t know why but i was really nervous. My heart was beating way faster than my liking and a knot in my stomach was tightening real bad.
I don’t know why I’m so nervous. Don't know if I can step in. The home my father bought for us, no, for me. I didn't know what to feel right now. Perhaps, I should've stayed back at my Aunt's.
I shake the thought away, and steeled my resolve. No!! I wanted to stand on my own feet and here I am. I'm going to make this work.
With that determination, I took a confident step and used the key to open the lock of MY home.
But funny thing was, the lock seemed to be jammed? I was feeling like effing Athena, ready to take on my destiny and stuff, and then the lock had to jam on me, breaking all that reverie. That's just great.
I pulled out the key and looked at it. It wasn't the normal sort of key with jagged teeth. No! It was some sort of flat key with circular indentions. It was weird. I've never seen keys like this before, and so as expected, I didn't know how the damn thing worked.
But I tried. Once. Twice. Thrice. But damn! It wasn’t ready to grant my only wish, I guess.
Huffing in frustration, I was about to give up on it when I felt eyes on me. You know, the eerie sensation of when someone is watching you.
Tucking back my strands, that had fallen on my face when I had bent slightly to open the lock, I turned around, only to see an unknown, but insanely hot, guy. His eyes glued to me and a strange amusement in them, that made me frown, instantly.
He was leaning against the opposite door, which only made me think that it was his apartment. Was he...my neighbor? Well, it didn't really matter anyway.
Turning away from his amused expression, I was starting to feel annoyed. Why is this guy just standing there and staring? Couldn't he just scurry off to wherever he had to go? And what was he? A ninja? I legit didn't hear him come out of his apartment.
Trying to ignore his presence, I started to work on my lock, again. Inserting the key, which wouldn't go all the way in. I blew out a breath of frustration, and tried again, pulling out the key, only to this time insert it in the opposite direction. At least, this time the key went further in, if not all the way. I just couldn't figure it out.
“You know, you won't be opening that door today if you do it that way,” I heard a masculine voice speaking up, and since the only person, of the opposite gender, I had seen was the guy who was staring, I assumed it to be him, without even turning to look and confirm.
I merely grunted lowly in response, not even bothering to give a second of my time to guys like him. Yeah, call me judgmental, but I have very low opinion of the opposite gender, especially their fvck boi tactics.
That was when I felt a sudden warmth beside me. Startled, the key dropped out of my hand, as I took a step back, only to see the guy who was way over the opposite side, now standing next to me, with the same infuriating amused smile in his eyes and lips. His gorgeously beautiful deep eyes and delicious lips.
Ugh, what am I even thinking?!
And on another thought, I concluded. Yup! he really was a ninja. How did one even move that fast or without making a sound? Or maybe I turned deaf in the past few minutes? Could be either, except I think my ears are working perfectly fine.
I heard a small deep laugh erupt from his lips as he bent down to pick up the key that had fallen from my hand. But, only to smack his head with mine as I bent down at the same time too, and I fell down smack on my ass.
“Ugh!”
Okay, I'm gonna confirm, he is also strong headed, and not in a good way. I clutched my head which seemed to break open any moment now.
Okay okay, I was exaggerating, but still. It was painful. I sent him a piercing glare, rubbing my head slowly, to quell the pain.
But then I saw something glinting in his hands, only to realize it was my key. Well, he managed to hit my head plus grab the key in one go.
Ninja for sure!
“Whoa I'm so sorry. Are you okay?” he asked, as he hurriedly got up, and extended a hand towards me. I stared at his hand blankly and then up at his face. Did he think I need his help? Huh! I can get up by myself just fine. I didn't need his damn help. He was the reason why I was on the floor, in the first place.
Slapping his hand away, I got up on my feet, and looked up at him, just to see him mask a hurt feeling on his face. Ohh did I just wound his itty bitty ego?
Great! Meet Breeze, the ego breaker!
I just glared at him, and he just looked back at me. Our eyes locked, and unspoken words floated. And it was clear, this was a guy I should stay away from. And I intend to.
I hope he learns it soon that this was one Breeze, he shouldn't dare try to sail in.
The next chapter up for you guys.
