1. Hot New Neighbour
|Rayansh|
The siren kept going off, but I still couldn't find anyone coming to help me. It was funny though, cause I know how to swim but no matter how hard I flap and flail my arms, I just seemed to be stuck in one place. Darkness consumed my surroundings and I couldn't see nor could I breathe.
I was running out of breath, and couldn't seem to hold on much longer. But the siren kept ringing on and on and on. I just wished it would stop and let me die in peace at least. And that's when I ran out of breath.
I thought I was going to die, but what happened was me gasping awake, as the siren kept ringing away.
It took me a moment to orient myself, as I blinked my eyes. The siren which had sounded far off started to sound louder and louder. And that's when I realized I was in bed and in my room, not on a ship nor was I drowning. Was that just a dream?
Groaning, I shuffled in my bed sheet, as my head turned to the right, but found nothing there. And then turned to the left. Nope. Still nothing. Where the hell was this ringing sounding from?
That's when I started to recognize the sound. It was my phone. But now, I had to find the dàmn thing. ‘Where is the stupid phone?’ I yelled mentally, not having enough energy to even let my voice out loudly.
I didn't even bother to open my eyes all the way, as I started searching for the phone, my right hand patting all around me. I was even lazy to lift my head. All I wanted to do was just go back to sleep, still not recovering from the hangover from last night.
So, right about now it was evident that whoever the fvck was calling me wasn't going to shut up until I banged my head into a wall because that god dàmn phone was nowhere to be found.
I shot up from the bed and let out a frustrated breath as my eyes adjusted to the light peeking into my room from the wide window across my bed.
What time is it?
I looked around and there it was, on the other side of the bed, on the verge of falling on the floor and earn some not so beautiful scratches. I hated scratches. This might be the fourth phone in the whole month that I bought from the money I didn't care how hard my dad worked to earn. I'm just simply my momma's boy, one kiss on her cheek and her eyes would be glaring at dad and hands would be caressing my cheeks. Dad? Well, he would just let out a frustrated breath and roll his eyes, and would call his PA to transfer some love in my account.
“Sup?” I answered the call once I saved the damn phone from its suicide attempt.
“Dude, get yo asß up and hurry down. I'm at the parking lot. We need to hit the gym quick or we won't get the necessary working out time,” I heard a voice yell, and honestly it only made me irritated more.
“Shane! Calm down, dude. I’m having a brutal hangover and you yelling is only making it worse. SO SHUT THE HELL UP WILL YOU!?” I screamed back, frustrated.
“Ohoo, you should've thought of that when you decided to enter that silly contest. Dude, 10 bottles? You downed 10 bottles, and then flaunting up and down like a crazy…”
“Dont….”
“Bîtch,” I heard Shane, as he continued. “And then dancing. Oooh~ don't want to forget how you started peeling off your clothes in public. Dude…”
“Shane, don't…” I could hear him laughing like some psychopath in the background.
“And..and..O.M.G, how the girls flocked over to you and started to grope you and you yelled ‘Mommy’ and ran away from them. Oh my god...”
“SHANE!” my pitch started getting higher.
“You should've seen your face...priceless man, I tell you, priceless,” he still continued laughing at my previous night's drunken fate.
“I get it! You had the fvcking best time of your life,” I growled running hands through my messed up hair, poking like thorns. “And where the hell were you and Haisley, when I was showcasing my precious repo like some bloody prostitute?” I made my way to washroom and looked at my face in the mirror.
“Fvck! We obviously were watching the show and having the time of our life,” he said, still laughing, I don't even know what was so funny about me dancing. I'm not that bad at it.
“And Haisley put a bet on you too,” he said and that got my attention as I kept my phone on speaker so I could wash my face.
“What bet?”
“That at the end of the night you won't be able to make diference between a guy and a girl,” he told with a cackle.
“Hold up, hold up. What did I do?” No way in hell! I forgot that I still had soap on my face, as I grabbed the phone.
“Well, you were all over the bouncer of the club, trying to smooch him, and he tried prying you off of himself, but had to call the extra security to help get you off him” by this time, Shane was wheezing from laughing so much from the memories which I had no freaking idea about.
“Tell me that was it and nothing further than that happened,” I asked praying under my breath, as I looked myself in the mirror and found myself looking like some snowman.
“Well, nothing further, other than you crying out in front of everyone that you loved him and couldn't live without him and wanted to make love with him.”
“No! Tell me you quietly removed me from the scene, please,” I pleaded, setting the phone down again, realizing it was technically on speaker, as I went to splash water on my face.
“Well, I had to leave early but Haisley was there and she told me all of the latter stuff. And she also got to the trouble of dropping you back home too.”
“What? How in the hell did that five feet human carried and dropped this six feet four inch me on the seventh floor of the building?”
“Beats me man, that girl is stronger than she looks.”
“Yeah! I agree to that remembering the day when you lost arm wrestling to her. Thrice, I might add,” I threw some insult on his face too and heard his laugh faltering for a fraction of second.
“Dude, that was intentional. You know how she behaves after losing.”
“Yeah! Yeah! Keep living in your fantasy world,” it was my turn to laugh now and so I did while making way to the closet. “And now let me get ready or do you want to start doing squats in the parking lot itself?”
“Fine, do your thing,” he said finally in some sane mind, “and oh, Haisley asked me to remind you.”
“About what?”
“Your date with Sandy!”
“Sandy, as in Sandra the hottie?”, I asked confused, as I had no memory in asking that girl out.
“No. Sandy, as in Sandy the bouncer.”
“WHAT THE F-” before I could complete, he disconnected the phone, slamming another embarrassment on my face.
Cursing under my breath, I threw the phone, which fell on a soft cushion at the far off end of the closet. I still didn't want any scratches on my baby.
I grabbed a set of clothes, black track shorts and a red workout hoodie and put them on. Picking up my dirty clothes, and my phone, I made my way out of the closet and dropped the clothes in the laundry basket and shoved my phone in my pocket.
Walking out of my room, I marched straight for the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of cold water from the refrigerator and made my way out while drinking.
I had to get my hands on Shane, that stupid little- He very much enjoyed toying with my predicament.
Keeping the bottle on the table and grabbing my car keys from drawer, I finally got out of my apartment and closed the door behind me and securely locked it. Plus the few touches of the modern security system I had installed recently.
And that was when my eyes fell on a being pulsing with light. Well, that's what it looked like to me first, before my eyes adjusted and I realized the light was actually a strong beam of sunlight falling on a girl standing there in the hallway.
To say the girl was hot, was an understatement. But what really caught my attention was how she was having trouble with opening her apartment door. And it looked like she was new ‘cause I had never seen her around. Believe me when I say, I would've certainly noticed if a hot girl lived next to my door.
My phone rang again, and I answered it.
“Dude are you not done yet with your makeup? Your date isn't right now, you know? Get your asß down quick, I'm tired of waiting. What the hell is taking you so long?”
“Whoa! Man. Whoa!” I said and lowered my phone completely unaware that this way he won't be able to hear me “It's just, my new neighbor is so hot.”
That's all I said before disconnecting, my eyes fixed on the girl as she struggled with the locked door and I took a step in her direction, preparing myself to say ‘Hello’.
