It's been two months since Monica hasn't spoken to me. Her plan didn't work with Pete. It turned into a colossal catastrophe. The peak of which was his question "Does Alice has a boyfriend 'cause I'm really into her?" No wonder that Monica dragged me out of the bookstore and asked from me never to come back again. But she still doesn' t want to talk with me. She knows I don't like him, not in that way at least. Why she is acting so weird? It's none of my fault that he doesn't respond to her feelings. I don't know what to do to make her forgive me though I know it ain't my fault.

I'll try for a last time to get my bestie back. I'll buy her a coffee from her favourite place and a book. This is the only way to say "Please forgive me" that I know it might work with her.

So I got ready and went out. I went to the local bookstore since the other one is of limit. I searched for something to cheer her up but there it wasn't any. I found a book for friendship and I decided that was perfect. On my way to the counter, I spotted with the corner of my eye something. A familiar cover to familiar book. It was the one I saw before - with the boy and the girl on the cover with their half-shown half-hidden faces. And I felt again strong power of attraction from it. But it wasn't the time and the place. Now it was more important to get my best friend back. So I baught her the book I chose and I left the store.
