17. The Bridge
Boss' POV:
"Kya kaha unhone Boss?" Shankar asked.
"Unhone kaha ki woh at least 2 weeks tak kuch nhi kar sakte... aur unhone yeh bhi kaha ki yeh hamari galati he..." I said in dissapointment.
"Ab kya karenghe Boss?" He asked. Even I didn't know what we were going to do.
"Shankar, ab toh ham intezar hi kar sakte he, senior staff ke free hone is" I said helplessly.
Diksha's POV:
As written on the map we entered the lava tube... I was looking so scary, the walls were black and grey. There was still some lava on the walls and on the ground. I was so scared. Zaan who was walking with me held my hand tightly. I looked at him. He continued to walk.
Everyone was walking quietly, and that was making the moment worse.
"Mujhe bohot dar lag raha he" Aarti spoke first, who was walking in front of us with Rohit.
"Kuch nhi hoga hame... ap bas shant rahiye" Rohit said.
I must say that the tube was so long. It wasn't going to finish soon.
Suddenly we heard some sound.
"Yeh kesi awaz he?" I said.
"Hey bhagwan! Pichli baar yaad he kya hua tha jab hamne awaze suni?" Zaan said. I remembered the fall...
"Lekin yeh awaz kuch alag he? Paani jaisi?" I said... everybody looked at me.
"Arey bhagooooo!!!" Rohit shouted. We started running as fast as possible. The sound was so near. After running for nearly 5 minutes we saw an exit on the left wall and got our from there. We run for 5 more minutes. We heard the noise increse until we saw some splits of lava... we understood everything.
"Toh woh lava tha?!" Aarti esclaimed. We nodded. We rested a bit because we were out of breath. Soon we started walking again.
"Bhagwan ka shukar he ki ham abhi bhi sahi raste par jaa rahe he..." Rohit said while examining the map. We nodded.
"Zara dikhana" I said. He gave me the map.
"Hmm... ab ham glacier chamber me enter hone vale he. Mujhe lagta he hame apne coats pehen lene chahiye" I said looking at the map. Everybody agree. We took the coats out of our bags and put them on.
"Chalo ab chalte he" Zaan said. We nodded. We entered the chamber. It was the same as Aarti described. It was actually cold but we had the coat on so it was still better.
"Yaha toh bohot khubsurat he!" Rohit exclaimed.
"Mene kaha tha na... ki khubsurat toh he lekin kuch alag he..." Aarti said looking around.
"Arey alag toh hoga hi na... yeh woh chamber nhi he jaha tum gayi thi... yeh alag he" Zaan explained to her. She nodded.
"Ab map par likha he ki sidhe jaa kar ek lake milega usko par kar ke ham yaha se bhahar nikal jayenghe" I explained. They nodded. We continued to walk until we reached the lake. As expected the lake was ice.
"Agar yeh tut gaya toh?" Zaan asked looking at the surface.
I went there and touched the surface. It was looking quite hard.
"Yeh nhi tute ghi kyun ki surface bohot zada hard he" I said confidently.
"Okay we trust you" Aarti said. I chuckled on the comment because she doesn't say that often. We started walking on it. As I said, nothing happened and we safely reached the other side of the lake.
"Diksha Sharma ap mahan ho" Zaan said acting like if I was a king. We all laughed.
"Nautanki band karo aur chalo woh dekho ham pohonch gaye he" I said pointing at the exit. We got out of the glacier chamber and took our coats off.
The place was so dark. Now we were going to cross an bridge. We thought it was going to be an easy task but as we arrived near the bridge we understood that it wasn't going to be easy. It was looking sooo old. The bridge was the only way to get to the other side. There was a big hole and black down the bridge. I don't think that we will be alive if we fall from the bridge.
The bridge is made of wood and many ropes to support it. But as I mentioned it was old so it was obviously weak and many of the wood plates were broken.
"Yeh toh bohot khatarnak lagta he..." Rohit said.
"Lekin hamare pas aur koi rasta nhi he Rohit" I said.
"Arey wah! Pehli baar tum kisi khatarnak kaam karne ke lie maan rahi ho... aur woh bhi itna easily" Zaan laughed. I rolled my eyes.
"Ho gaya tumhara?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Anyways, pehle kon jaa raha he?" I asked.
"Ladies first" he said. I looked at him with widened eyes.
"Seriously?!" I asked in disbelief.
This time everybody laughed.
"Hasna band karo! Ham ek important task kar rahe he... focus guys!" I said. They nodded like good kids. I smiled.
"Me jau pehle?" Rohit asked. We agreed and he went first. He reached the other side very quickly and easily. One thing I noticed was that the bridge moved after every single step. That could be my weak point. But I didn't loose hope, I can't give up now... after Rohit, Zaan and Aarti went and they also reached the other side safely. Now it was my turn.
So guys are you enjoying... please tell me if I have to improve something or any idea that you have in your mind. I will surely use it in the fiction. Thanks for the support.
Diksha.
