"She is gorgeous", I thought as I kept staring at my sleeping wife. A smile unkowingly crept my lips. I would not be this close to her for next few months, that thought caused a twinge in my heart. My hand moved towards her hair like it had its own mind and I brushed a few strands away from her forehead. She stirred in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes. The next thing I hear is a low gasp and a look of terror on her face."Viren! You scared me.What on earth is wrong with you?Why are you staring at me?",she frowned clutching at her heart. I grinned sheepishly further adding to her irritation."What?",she punched me hard."Ouch!Nothing.I was just wondering if you will atleast make the breakfast today", I said pointing at the time. She woke up startled that it was close to 8 and she had to rush in half an hour. I took the day off as my journey to the far far land would be today.I had some last minute shopping and woulsd finish it by the time she got back home.

She hurriedly moved around the room to gather her morning necessities.I kept following her every move with a smile on my face. After about few minutes she walked into the wash room to get ready. I wanted to spend time with her, get closer, know her little secrets, tease her,love her, but I had to go, leaving her here. It was not easy.She is probably angry with me. But, I don't think there is anything that I can do about this. I wish I could take her along but I am sure she will have to report at the office.I can only hope to wrap up my assignment as soon as I can and get back to her.

"You are still here? Why don't you go out for a bit.I need to dress up", she said,standing at the washroom door.Water trickling from her freshly washed hair, was making its way onto her forehead.Her shoulder was bare with the ends of her hair glued to it.She was wraped in a towel which showed enough skin and that gave me goosebumps. My reaction made her uncomfortable as she seemed to melt under my stare. I quickly stood, still looking at her and moved closer to the place she was. I could see her eyes widen as she adjusted her hair. As the distance closed I could hear my heart thump.When we were just inches apart, I quickly dashed into the washroom and bolted the door. I could hear her gasp and then chuckle. A smile crept my lips as I imagined what she had on mind.

"I will be back by afternoon", she said, finishing her breakfast. "I am sorry, I can't avoid this meeting. Most of your luggage is packed.You pack the remaining as much as you can,I will help you once I am back.Is that ok?", she questioned with guilt. " Relax! I will take care.Don't rush.Take your time." I assured her. With a warm smile she nodded and departed.

I wanted to plan a surprise for her, to see her happy and to apologize for my long absence. I wanted her to be distracted atleast for sometime after I was gone. I planned it meticulously and hoped she would like it.With everything in place, I relaxed. The packing was almost done and I geared up for the journey.

The moment finally arrived and we were at the terminal.May be I could kiss her? Would that make up for my loss of words, this moment? Just as that thought crossed my mind,I blushed."Viren,I asked you something. And why do I feel you are blushing?"."Huh? I wasn't paying attention.What did you say?" I asked hoping, my act wouldn't get caught." Nevermind. Just keep me informed when you get down for the lay over.Will you?", she asked softly. "Ofcourse, I will. Don't worry. Enjoy the stay at your parents, now that they have agreed to host boxer, you guys can havg out too", I smiled. She was silent but nodded to my suggestion. "Payal! Don't tell me you don't want to leave me? Do I see tears in your eyes? Unbelievable!", I exaggerated, to lighten up the moment, which I know was getting emotional. She laughed immediately saying "In your dreams". The smile on our faces did not leave as we looked into each others eyes trying to communicate our feelings that we were ourselves unaware of.

I was the one to break the trance as I know the time was ticking and I still had things to say. " Ok! Payal. I have something planned for you. It is a short treasure hunt around the city, which will lead you to something that I want to give you. I hope you enjoy this whole thing." , I said, forcing a hug and kissing her forehead. Surprisingly I could feel her responding as she held to me, not letting me go. After what seemed like a long time we let each other go and I handed her a box beautifully wrapped. I finally said my good bye and proceeded towards the terminal.
