"ℋ-help me..."
The broken words rang through the dull air, dry to the touch.
"Help me... Hero-King..."
Tears. Warm and wet tears streaming down her face.
"Lend me strength... tell me who I really am..."
It was Lucina who spoke; the
eldest daughter of Exalt Chrom and
Sumia— well, at least, when they existed. Ever since the second commotion between Plegia and Ylisse, Lucina lost hope with finding peace again.
"Let me fix what my father attempted to do... please... I need your guidance..."
She was silent after that, hoping for a reply.
But instead, she was welcomed with the eerie sounds of silence.
Lucina's sobs only gotten
worse. It had been days— weeks since she had tried to come in contact with her ancestors. Why? How could it not be possible? The princess forced her eyes shut, opening the memories flying in her mind.
"Children, you are all capable of doing so. You may not be smart alone, but your combined strength and knowledge will pull you through the obstacles."
How in gods name was she
capable? Lucina highly doubted it; it was Chrom who had the confidence— the strength, the knowledge to pull through the life of sorrow. Why couldn't he do it instead? One answer was only appropriate to match with her question— he couldn't. He was dead.
"King Marth... Naga... I need
your strength... I beg of you..." She kept her head low, although she could still sense the glowing stars of the night through the ceiling of the abandoned fortress.
It was quite large, with narrow
corridors and large cracks embedded about. Torches hung against the ancient walls, sparks crackling every second. Keeping her senses focused on her prayer, Lucina waited.
And waited.
And waited.
But instead, there came no
answer.
What a fool she was. Why in
gods name would Lucina expect such a miracle to happen? There was no such thing as wishes coming true in this world, not until now.
You see, young Lucina always had hope. No matter how big or small, there was always the tiniest bit of the courage in her mind that her father had.
Nevertheless, Lucina couldn't
find her confidence any longer. seconds passed, minutes. Silence. Sadness. Darkness.
Not tonight. Nothing tonight.
And she cried, letting the tears of guilt
and sorrow stream down her pale cheeks.
