"Faith! Come here!" My mom yelled. I groaned. "Ugh... What time is it?" I complained, looking at my clock. 10:00. "Crap!" I yelled, running to the kitchen. My mom smiled at me. "Good morning, dear! I have wonderful news!" She chirped. I stared at her. "News? What kind of news?" I asked. Her smile grew wider. "You know Professor Juniper, correct?" She said. I nodded. "Yeah, why?" I asked her. Mom looked at me, grinning. "She said that today's the day you can get your very own Pokemon!" I was stunned. "Really?!" I said, excited to get my new Pokemon. Mom nodded. "Yep! In fact, your friends are getting their own Pokemon, too!" I was super excited. Leon and Hugh have been my best friends since childhood. I ran out the door. "bye, mom!" I yelled as I made my way to the lab.

Hugh and Leon were waiting for me in front of the lab. I smiled. "Hey, guys!" I said. Leon smiled back. "Hey, Faith! Ready to get a Pokemon?" He said. "You bet I am!" I said. Hugh smiled. "Come on, you clowns. Let's go inside." He said. We walked in. Professor Juniper smiled as we walked in. "Welcome!" She said. "You three must be Faith, Leon, and Hugh, correct?" We nodded. She smiled. "Wonderful! Now, I'm sure you know about Pokemon, so, I will give you each a choice of three starter Pokemon. These will be your companions on your journey. You may only choose one." She said. Suddenly, she took three pokeballs out of her pocket and tossed them in the air. When the pokeballs hit the ground, three Pokemon appeared. "Wow!" I said. Professor Juniper smiled. "The Pokemon you see are Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig! Choose your partner." I looked at the three Pokemon. Which one should I choose? I wondered. I looked at Oshawott and smiled. I picked him up. "I want this one!" I said. Professor Juniper smiled. "Oshawott. Good choice." She said. I looked over at Hugh and Leon. Leon chose Tepig and Hugh chose Snivy. I ran out the door. "Bye, Professor!" I yelled. From here on out, I start my Pokemon journey!
