The entire ride was silent as Morty messaged Daemon nonstop. Ever since he was 15, he had kept a phone Rick had given him that would allow him to send messages from anywhere in space.

Currently, Rick regretted ever giving him that damn phone.

After a few hours, the pair found themselves in front of the same liquor store they had visited before Morty left. "Did I clean ya out again?" Playfully, Morty punched Rick's shoulder, walking into the small shop and looking around. Rick grabbed a few bottles and set them up on the counter, paying while Morty grabbed some of his own. As they walked back to the ship, Morty let out a groan. "The phone died!" Mentally, Rick fist pumped into the air. Physically, he pulled an apologetic expression. "Oh no, you'll eugh have to endure conversation like normal people." Rolling his eyes, Morty hopped into his seat again.

Half an hour had passed before either of them said anything. "I'm sorry for... for not saying goodbye, Morty." Rick seemed to actually mean his apology, leaving Morty shocked. "Don't worry 'bout it. It's alllll goood."

"No. No it's not. I can only assume eugh that I was the reason you... you euugh started drinking, Morty. A-A-And that-that's not ok-eugh-ay. I'm sorry. I mean it."

"Yea, well, you know... I'm sorry too." It was Morty's turn to shift, uncomfortable. "What do you have eugh to be sorry for? You did nothing wrong."

"I kissed my own grandfather, and here you are telling me that wasn't wrong. That it wasn't immoral, wrong, bad, incestuous?" Morty hadn't meant to snap like that, but it had been sitting at the surface for months. He watched Rick flinch before drawing a shaky breath. He looked genuinely hurt, refusing to reply. "Rick? I'm sorry... I didn't mean to yell like that. I just... it took me forever to get over that. I didn't mean to..." Morty was completely lost for words. "I'm sorry, Rick."

Smiling, Rick pulled into the garage, "That's alright, Morty. I'm assuming Daemon means you're over that now?" His smile would make anybody get on their knees in front of this man. Laughing, Morty just wandered through the garage, looking at the new inventions that lined the shelves.

"Y-You never eugh answered my question, M-eughMorty." Rick followed him around for a while. Morty kept walking around, picking up pace as Rick moved quickly to match it. He spun around quickly, causing Rick to run into him.

"Am I?" Rick stared at Morty with wide eyes. "Who knows?"

"M-Morty, what-?" Rick couldn't find what he wanted to say. A light shade of pink dusted his face before Morty laughed, backing away. "Morty?"

Walking out of the garage, Morty called to Rick, "Seems like you've found yourself in a bit of a pickle, Rick."
