Same Routine
Mad caused the car to skid to a stop in a parking space outside of Horst-Dohm-Eisstadion ice rink.
"Your coach's name is Knud Schenk, he's a retired ice skater that was pretty damn good in his time. I already paid him to coach you guys and rented the rink for a couple of days, so don't fuck anything up." Infelix instructed as he hopped out of the car, Dark and Anti reluctantly following him.
"Why can't we have our old coaches?" Anti hissed.
"I don't want you guys getting attached to them. Besides, I already have a plan for them." Infelix explained, handing each of them heavy, large black duffels and lightly shoving Dark and Anti forward towards the rink before returning to the car and driving off.
The rink was outdoors, reminding Dark of a football field with a track made of ice around it. It was empty except for one short man with short light gray hair, wrinkles, and crystal blue eyes that seemed to scrutinize Dark and Anti as they approached him.
"Are those contacts?" Coach Schenk gestured at Anti's eyes. Instinctively Anti flinched, Dark bristling at their coach in response.
"Never mind, I won't question the blue and green eyes." Schenk muttered to himself under his breath.
"Anyway, as you two probably already know, my name is Knub Schenk, but you guys will call me Coach Schenk or just Coach." Schenk introduced himself.
"I'm Dark-"
"That's really your name?" Schenk raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Is your first name really Knub?" Anti countered defensively.
"Watch it you two. I can kick you both out of this rink right now if neither of you watch your tongues." Schenk threatened.
"And let me guess, your name's weird too?" Schenk sighed as he glanced at Anti.
"If Anti's a weird name to you, then yeah." Anti shrugged. Internally he already wanted to punch Schenk in the face and go back to Murphy, but that would mean Infelix would probably go back on his promise.
And he was ready to get rid of Infelix for good.
"Alright, do either of you know anything about skating?" Schenk huffed impatiently.
Dark and Anti nodded.
"Show me." Schenk commanded, stepping back to give them space.
Anti opened his duffel, pausing for a moment as he retrieved his old black skates Murphy had given him. He shook his head before leaving them on, taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes, racking his brain to remember what his old routine was.
Anti went first, preforming his old routine he had done for his first competition.
"Sloppy, execution was poor and your posture was atrocious at best." Schenk commented before waving dismissively at Anti and motioning for Dark to preform.
Dark growled choice words under his breath before doing his old routine, his moves sharp and precise like a dagger.
"Decent." Schenk admitted almost reluctantly once Dark finished.
"Somehow I'll make a man out of you." Schenk decided as he glanced over at Anti briefly before focusing back on Dark.
"Take five, I need to fix a couple-well, several things on Ant eye's performance." Schenk instructed.
"It's Anti." Anti corrected him.
Schenk didn't replying he stood impatiently, waiting for Anti to start his routine again.
Anti sighed before begrudgingly starting his routine again.
He was constantly stopped and berated for the next four hours until Dark finally stepped in.
"We have to go, thanks for your time." Dark spoke in a clipped tone with a fake smile plastered on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Fine, just come back tomorrow at five." Schenk directed as Dark stormed away with Anti in tow.
"I fucking hate that guy." Dark huffed in barely repressed anger.
"Same here." Anti agreed, trying not to wince with every step he took because of his sore muscles.
"What did Infelix give us anyway?" Dark paused as he set his duffel down and dug through it.
He retrieved a pair of car keys, an envelope full of money, his skates, and a room key card for a hotel called Meliá Berlin.
Anti found the same things in his bag as well, except for the car keys.
"What do we have here?" Dark grinned excitedly as he hit the lock button, scanning the mostly deserted parking lot to find whatever car belonged to them.
The keys belonged to a black bug familiar to Anti.
"How the hell did Infelix get my car?!" Anti exclaimed as he jogged towards the bug. It looked exactly the same as it did last time he saw it many years ago when he was in high school.
"He's Infelix, what can't he do?" Dark shrugged as he tossed Anti the keys. Anti unlocked the car and got in, the scent of sweat, coffee, and rotten food wafting around him.
"You need an air freshener." Dark remarked as he wrinkled his nose, tossing a McDonalds bag still half full of food out of the passenger seat before sitting down.
As Anti started the car, he flipped on the radio and nearly stomped on the accelerator in surprise when rock music blared through the speakers.
"I'M BACK IN BLACK!" Dark yelled along with the song, nodding his head to the beat. Anti left the volume up as he pulled out of the parking lot and had Dark look up directions to find the hotel they were staying at so they could drop their stuff off before getting lunch.
"He certainly likes style." Anti remarked as Anti parked in front of the hotel. The building was huge and made of light tan colored bricks with revolving doors at the entrance.
"You know what this means?" Dark smirked playfully as he ran into the door, continuously spinning as fast as he could.
"Come on, it's fun!" Dark encouraged Anti, who was snickering at him.
"Okay okay." Anti gave in, joining in the door behind Dark.
It wasn't long until Anti came back out, wobbling towards the nearest trash can and throwing up into it.
Dark left too a moment after Anti, throwing up beside Anti in the same trash can with the smirk still on his face.
"Worth it." Dark chuckled.
"Agreed." Anti laughed, wiping his mouth off with the back of his hand before following Dark inside the hotel.
The lobby had a long black counter with lights under and in front of where the receptionists kept their computers, black lamps and circular lights in he white ceiling illuminating the white walled with white tiled flooring room. Flat screens were suspended from the ceiling about every several feet, all of them currently displaying a boring game of golf.
"I think they were thinking of a hospital when the people designed the lobby." Anti teased as they walked up to the counter.
"Who knows, maybe they did." Dark joked.
Dark showed the receptionist their room card before walking down the white tiled hallway and finding several black elevators to their right that took them up to their room on the third floor.
"Fabulous to the max." Anti remarked as they entered the room, stepping onto the beige carpeted floor and letting their door slam shut behind them.
The walls were cream colored, two queen sized beds covered in white sheets with a bright reddish-pink blanket draped over the ends of them and two small matching pillows in front of the large normal white ones. Next to the beds was a small wooden panel connected to a bedside table with a lamp on it and an alarm clock built into the panel, a wooden light green cushioned chair beside it.
There was a wall of light brown wood with a small rectangular hole cut out of the center of it and a desk built into it where the back of a computer could be seen, as well as a small light brown chair with a light green cushion.
On the other side of the desk was a black leather love seat pressed against the wall with a long white lamp on either side of it and a small wooden light brown coffee table in front of it, two black leather chairs on either side of the table. A flat screen tv was hung on the wall behind the love seat, high enough to still be visible from the bed.
What excited Anti the most though was the fact that there was a medium sized wooden table on the right side of the love seat that had a coffee machine on it.
"You want coffee?" Anti asked Dark as he started the machine, choosing a random flavor as Dark walked over to the large dark red curtains and pulled them aside to reveal clear door with a black frame that led to a black metal balcony.
"Sure." Dark flashed Anti a thumbs up as he stepped outside, closing the door behind him.
Anti quickly made the coffee, pouring it into two complimentary white coffee mugs by the machine before following Dark outside.
"Thanks." Dark nodded in appreciation as Anti handed him a cup, wisps of stream curling from the drink.
Dark blew them away before taking a sip, continuing to stare out at the busy city below them.
"You doing okay?" Anti gently nudged Dark.
"Yeah, just thinking." Dark admitted.
"About?" Anti prompted, scooting closer to him.
"What would we do when we're free from Infelix?" Dark blurted.
"I dunno, I guess we'd just keep doing what we're doing." Anti shrugged.
"We should get a dog." Dark decided thoughtfully, resting his elbows on the thin black railing.
"What kind?" Anti asked excitedly.
"I dunno, I'd like to go get one from a shelter." Dark nodded.
"We'd probably need a house since most apartments don't allow pets." Anti reminded him.
"Then we'll get a house first." Dark stated as he took another sip of his coffee.
"I love you, you know that right?" Dark asked Anti, tearing his gaze away from the city to look at him.
"I love you too Darkidoo." Anti smiled, allowing Dark to wrap one arm around him and gently press his lips against Anti's.
The moment was ruined when Anti's stomach rumbled loudly.
"You hungry?" Dark laughed as he pulled out of the kiss, smirking at Anti lovingly.
"What makes you think that?" Anti asked sarcastically, rolling his eyes as they walked back inside.
"Pizza sound good?" Dark yelled as Anti retreated into the bathroom after finishing his coffee.
"Yeah!" Anti shouted back as he closed the door.
The bathroom was almost as extravagant as the room with its brick red colored tile floor, giant mirror, white tiled walls, two sinks with a carpet underneath them, and wooden counter that as a slot in them to hold hand towels as well as soap.
Anti stripped out of his clothes and took a long luxurious shower in the large white shower, shamelessly singing random songs at he top of his lungs.
Once he was finished, he somewhat dried off his dark emerald green hair with a white fluffy towel before wrapping it around his lower torso and leaving the warm air to go search for clean clothes.
Anti caught Dark watching him as he opened the closet, relieved to see clothes for him in it since he had forgotten to bring any with him from his apartment.
Anti disappeared into the bathroom again and changed into a loose fitting white pj shirt and blue shorts with pink flamingos and flowers on them.
"Pizza's here!" Dark announced as Anti left the bathroom and hopped onto the bed next to Dark, grabbing one of the boxes he was holding in his hands.
"Pineapple! You know me so well." Anti smiled as he opened the box and retrieved four slices of Hawaiian pizza before setting them down on top of the box, using it as a plate.
"And because I love you, I ordered this too." Dark revealed a smaller box from behind his back and opened it.
Inside was a cookie pizza with warm chocolate drizzled on top.
"Thanks boo." Anti gave Dark a quick kiss on the cheek before taking the box from him, hastily eating his pizza so he could eat the dessert.
"Wanna watch YouTube?" Dark mumbled through a mouthful of Hawaiian pizza.
"Yeah." Anti nodded, moving the half empty pizza box to the floor and crawling under the covers, munching on a slice of the cookie pizza while Dark grabbed his phone and pulled up YouTube.
Anti snuggled closer against Dark's chest as Jack's newest Rock of Ages II started, sighing in content as he closed his eyes and listened to Jack yell in rage while Dark snickered at him.
