They Come in Twos
Nikki sat down as she calmly watched Kanan and Ezra. Cal left on the Mantis to chase a lead, and Astor decided to help train newer Rebel recruits. Kanan and Ezra stood side by side as they stared at Chopper. The droid was their latest target for the lesson Kanan was teaching. Kanan nodded his head,
"Alright, Ezra. Today, we're going to work on levitation. Try to lift Chopper using the Force,"
Ezra nodded, his face scrunched in concentration as he extended his hand toward Chopper. The droid beeped and whirred, its feet firmly planted on the ground. Meanwhile, across the room, Zeb and Rex were deep into a game of Dejarik, with Cody watching with a smirk. Zeb laughed,
"I think you're getting rusty, old man,"
Then Rex moved his piece into a winning position, and he chuckled,
"Or maybe I'm just better than you, Zeb,"
"Maybe I let you win,"
Kanan glanced over at the two with a small smile as he shook his head before turning back to Ezra. He could sense that Ezra was trying his best, but Chopper still did not budge. Ezra's face grew redder until he finally slumped and grumbled,
"I can't do it, Kanan,"
Rex and Cody glanced over at him, and Rex smirked with a twinkle in his eye,
"Maybe it's because Chopper here has been sabotaged."
Nikki laughed with Sabine and Chopper as Chopper's feet unlocked, and he rolled forward, mocking Ezra with a series of beeps and whistles. Ezra gasped,
"That's not fair!"
Kanan put a hand on Ezra's shoulder,
"Life's not fair, Ezra. A fight never is. You have to be prepared for anything,"
Rex leaned back in his chair and smiled,
"You know, your training reminds me of my time with Jedi General Skywalker,"
Cody nodded,
"We also started training Nikki in unorthodox ways,"
Nikki winced,
"I have been pelted by balls and cannons, Ez...but it made me better,"
Rex chuckled,
"General Skywalker was a great warrior because he combined his Force abilities with his wits. He always thought outside the box."
Kanan folded his arms,
"Ezra has plenty of wits. What he needs is discipline."
Nikki rolled her eyes as she foresaw another argument break out. Then Hera walked in with a datapad in her hand,
"Alright, everyone. We have a mission. Sabine, Chopper, Zeb, I need you to salvage some medical supplies from an old Republic medical station."
Nikki stood up,
"Hera, I would like to join along. I know those old Med stations very well,"
Hera crossed her arms,
"Did Kix clear you?"
Cody nodded and patted Nikki's shoulder,
"He cleared her, Rex and I were there,"
Hera nodded,
"Alright. Nikki, Zeb, Chopper, and Sabine, you four are heading out now,"
Sabine nodded,
"I'm flying,"
Nikki laughed and patted her shoulder,
"No disrespect, Sabine, but I like flying more than being a passenger,"
Rex rolled his eyes,
"Nikki, you can not always be the fl-"
"Watch me,"
Zeb sighed,
"How did we get another stubborn-"
"Don't even think of finishing that sentence, Garazeb Orrelios,"
Zeb raised his hands in defense, and Nikki smirked,
"Also, outside of this ship, once again. My name is Sora, not Nikki,"
Sabine nodded,
"Yep, we got it,"
Nikki patted Ezra's before they left. Once they boarded the Phantom, Nikki sighed,
"Ezra Bridger, I know you are in here!"
Ezra sighed and popped up,
"Hi,"
Nikki crossed her arms,
"Why are you here?"
Ezra sighed,
"I didn't want to hear Kanan and Rex argue,"
Nikki nodded,
"Alright, but this is the last time I will let you sneak away,"
Ezra nodded,
"Thank you, Aunt Sora,"
They landed in the dark, silent hangar and stepped out, their footsteps echoing ominously. To get some power running, the five of them went in search of the command center, unaware of the ID9 seeker droid tracking their every move. Sabine stopped to tag a wall with her phoenix symbol,
"I think we're being watched."
Nikki nodded,
"I think we are. Everyone make sure you are on your guard,"
They found the command center, and Chopper powered up the station. Nikki immediately worked on the control panel,
"Shit, everything has been corrupted...I can't tell where the medical supplies are or if they still exist,"
Ezra nodded,
"Let's start looking for them while Chopper tries to repair the files,"
They then took off in seperate directions, Nikki went with Sabine while Ezra stayed with Zeb. Nikki frowned,
"Sabine, go find Ezra and Zeb,"
Sabine frowned,
"What about you? I thought we shouldn't go alone?"
Nikki laughed,
"Come on, kid, I can handle myself. But, there is something wrong about this place. I sense dark presences in here with us, and I need you to stay safe,"
Sabine nodded slowly,
"Okay, okay, I will go, but be safe, Sora,"
Nikki nodded,
"You as well, Sabine,"
Nikki walked down the dark corridor as she heard a distress signal light up her comms, which was exactly where she was heading. Nikki took off sprinting with her lightsaber hilts in her hands, just not ignited them yet. She ran in and stopped as she saw an Inquisitor waiting for her in the shadows,
"And to think I got rid of most of you,"
The Seventh sister sneered at her,
"So, you are the ghost Jedi I have heard about. Darth Sideous will be pleased with me when I turn you in,"
Nikki laughed,
"Awe, it's cute that you think you can,"
Nikki ignited both of her lightsabers while the Seventh Sister ignited her red double-blade,
"Yet here you are, trapped with no way out."
Nikki narrowed her eyes, focusing her mind and centering herself in the Force,
"You underestimate the Jedi, and you underestimate me."
With a sudden surge of speed, the Seventh Sister lunged forward, her lightsaber slashing through the air with deadly precision. Nikki met each strike with fluid grace, her dual blades blocking and parrying the Inquisitor's attacks. The lightsabers clashed with a shower of sparks, illuminating the dim command center. The Seventh Sister pressed forward relentlessly, her attacks becoming more ferocious as she sought to overwhelm Nikki's defenses. Sparks flew as their lightsabers clashed in a dazzling display of skill and determination. Then it changed when Ezra and Sabine ran into the room. Nikki quickly looked at Ezra and Sabine,
"Run!"
Ezra shook his head,
"What? No!"
Sabine immediately grabbed Ezra's arm,
"No time, run!"
Then, the Fifth brother appeared and cornered Ezra and Sabine. Ezra ignited his lightsaber,
"Sabine, run!"
Nikki jumped over the two inquisitors and landed in front of Ezra in time to block the strike aimed at his head,
"Run now!"
Ezra and Sabine dashed through the corridors, their footsteps echoing as they fled from the Inquisitors' pursuit. Beside Nikki, the Seventh Sister renewed her offensive, taking advantage of the distraction caused by the Fifth Brother's sudden appearance. Sparks flew as their lightsabers clashed in a whirlwind of skill and determination. Nikki focused on defending herself, her mind racing to anticipate their next moves. Despite being outnumbered, Nikki remained composed and focused. She drew upon the Force, letting its flow guide her movements and enhance her senses. With each passing moment, she gained a clearer understanding of her opponents' tactics and vulnerabilities. The duel continued unabated, the combatants circling each other with measured steps. The Fifth Brother's brute strength contrasted with the Seventh Sister's calculated precision, creating a dynamic and dangerous combination against Nikki's agility and mastery of Form V lightsaber combat.
Sabine and Ezra found Zeb and helped him get up,
"Come on! We have to save Nikki! The inquisitors have her in a fight right now,"
Ezra nodded,
"I don't know how long she can last,"
Zeb nodded,
"We should call Kanan."
Sabine shook her head,
"No, a signal could compromise the fleet. We have to do this ourselves."
They heard shuffling, and Ezra gasped,
"The fifth brother, he's looking for us. We have to hide!"
Ezra and Zeb tried planting detonators, but it back-fired when the Fifth Brother disabled them and caused an explosion, Sabine was knocked out while Ezra and Zeb were pushed into a hidden crater in the floor. Nikki's eyes widened when she saw Sabine being dragged into the room by the Fifth Brother,
"MONSTER! LEAVE HER ALONE!"
The Seventh Sister laughed,
"The other two companions you had have been killed. Give up, ghost, and send a message to those rebels so we can destroy them,"
Nikki opened her mouth to protest, but a transmission was picked up,
"Ghost, come in. This is Commander Meiloorun,"
The Seventh sister nudged her closer, and Nikki winced but nodded,
"This is Ghost,"
"You have been gone with your squad for some time. Do you need back-up?"
Nikki winced as she felt the Seventh Sister dig a finger into a cut on her arm,
"Yes we need back-up, lots of space to cover here,"
"Alright, back-up should be there soon. Commander Meiloorun out, keep your chin up, Ghost,"
Nikki nodded, and they were then dragged to Bay Six. Nikki and Sabine spotted Zeb and Ezra hiding in the Phantom. Nikki smirked and nodded subtly. Using the force, Ezra quickly created a distraction, and Nikki immediately sprung up and carried Sabine to the Ghost, where they immediately took off. Ezra knelt down in front of Nikki,
"Are you alright?"
Nikki sighed and nodded,
"Yes, do not worry about me, lil Ez...just a few bruises,"
Sabine frowned,
"Why did they call you a ghost?"
Nikki chuckled,
"Because I have hunted down some Inquisitors with Cal. Then Cal started hunting for a better place for Jedi, and I continued hunting them down."
Zeb crossed his arms,
"How many?"
Nikki smirked,
"Zeb, you just met fifth and seventh. The Grand Inquisitor that Kanan killed was number one, do the math, bud,"
Ezra's eyes widened,
"You killed that many?"
Nikki shrugged,
"A few, but I got through to one or two...the more important thing is...they know about Ahsoka, which makes no sense,"
Ezra frowned,
"Why?"
Nikki looked at him,
"Because. The only person that knows...would never tell anyone,"
Sabine looked at her,
"You told someone?"
"That is a long story,"
"We have some time,"
Nikki chuckled,
"For another day, Ez. Right now, you should try meditating. You will need it for the training Kanan puts you through after you ditched him earlier,"
Ezra groaned as the four others laughed.
