Anger is not the Jedi Way
Kanan felt a shift in the force again and looked out to see a plume of sand coming toward them. He glanced over at Echo,
"Is that normal?"
Echo looked at the dust cloud and shrugged,
"Yeah, a little bit. Sometimes small sandstorms sweep by,"
Cody looked at Kanan,
"What's wrong?"
Kanan frowned and shook his head,
"There is something out there,"
Sabine shrugged,
"Ezra should be coming back soon,"
Kanan slowly nodded and closed his eyes as he reached out through the force to his padawan. The dust cloud approached them, and he felt a warning go off and heard Ezra yelling,
"WAIT!"
Kanan immediately turned on his lightsaber and was met by a blue lightsaber near inches from Wolffe's face. Wolffe stumbled back with a yelp,
"Jedi!"
Kanan narrowed his eyes at the newcomer,
"What do you want with them?"
Sora narrowed her eyes as anger rushed through her,
"Do you not know who they are?!"
Kanan sighed and shrugged,
"I do,"
Sora took a brief step back and analyzed Kanan before shaking her head in disbelief,
"Then you have betrayed the dead,"
She immediately rushed at him with the lightsaber, and Kanan raised his to catch hers. Ezra jumped onto the Walker and raised his hand to push them. Sora barely moved a centimeter while Kanan was thrown against the wall,
"STOP!"
Sora glanced at Ezra as she shook her head,
"This is your master?!"
Ezra nodded and took off his helmet,
"Yeah! This is my master, Kanan,"
Kanan slowly stood up with the help of Sabine as everyone pointed a blaster at Sora. Sora shook her head,
"Ezra. They can not be trusted!"
"Yes, they can! We need them!"
Sora scoffed as she finally took off her helmet again and glared at Ezra,
"Then we failed to teach you what happened,"
Ezra's eyes widened in shock,
"What do you mean? All you talked about was what happened!"
Sora laughed hollowly as she looked at him while deactivating his saber,
"Then. Why are you putting trust in them? Did you not learn from our mistake?"
Fives stepped closer to her,
"Hey, girl, you don't know what you're talking about!"
Sora pointed the deactivated saber at him,
"Oh, I do. I was shot off a cliff with my master. I know exactly what happened when we put our faith in you clones. We were about to end the war. Then you fucking backstabbed all of us. Thousands of Jedi were killed by those they called friends,"
Ezra walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder,
"Sora, they took out those chips,"
Sora looked at the five clones before them and glanced at Fives,
"Only one of you did before shooting at the Jedi. How many died by your hands before you took that chip out?"
Kanan frowned in confusion as he saw how young she looked,
"How would you know all of this? You look the same age as Ezra,"
Sora rolled her eyes and threw Ezra his lightsaber back before glaring at Kanan,
"Looks can be deceiving,"
Ezra sighed,
"Sora, please,"
Sora glanced at Ezra and sighed,
"Why are you here, Ez?"
Ezra pointed at Rex and Cody,
"The Rebellion needs codes that only they know for an outpost,"
Sora glanced at the clones and laughed,
"Who made that call? I know damn well a lot of people would never trust clones again,"
Sabine stepped closer to the arguing humans,
"Fulcrum. She ordered it. She knew them during the Clone Wars and after the purge,"
Sora frowned in confusion at the code-name,
"Why are you trusting an anonymous source?"
Ezra shook his head,
"She's not to us,"
Kanan glared at the unknown Jedi,
"To you she will remain anonymous,"
Sora shrugged,
"Listen, I'm staying out of this. The only reason that I haven't avenged my family is because of Ezra."
Kanan looked at her,
"Revenge is not the Jedi way,"
Sora shrugged and smirked at him,
"Well, I'm not a normal Jedi."
Sabine looked at the helmet in her grasp,
"How did you get that?"
Sora glanced at the helmet and smiled at it,
"The last gift I ever received. No one expects a Mandolorian to be a Jedi,"
Kix crossed his arms,
"You are not a Mandolorian,"
Sora nodded,
"Correct, I'm not. But many bounty hunters would mistake me for a Mandalorian just because I wear a piece of their armor. Common mistake,"
Sabine glared at her,
"How did you get it?"
"I told you it was a gift,"
"From who?"
Sora glanced at Sabine again and recognized a fierce aura within her,
"The house of Kryze."
Sabine's eyes widened in shock,
"That house has been destroyed since the Empire took over,"
Sora winced and shook her head,
"No. It was crumbling when Darth Maul killed Satine."
Rex immediately pointed his gun at her,
"How did you know it was Maul?"
Sora glanced at Rex,
"That's on a need-to-know basis, clone."
Ezra sighed,
"Aunt Sora, please,"
That caused everyone to look at Ezra in shock and then back at the supposed aunt. Sora raised her hands in surrender,
"Yeah, yeah, play nice. You are lucky I care about you."
Ezra smirked,
"Well, I sure hope you do, you are technically my legal guardian now,"
Sora frowned as she looked down at her feet,
"They are...they truly are?"
Ezra sighed,
"I don't know...but like I said, empire took them a few weeks after you left."
Sora sighed and put a hand on his shoulder,
"I'm sorry, Ez...I truly am."
Ezra smiled sadly at her and glanced at his friends,
"Will you join us back to the Rebellion? We could always use another Jedi, and I-"
Sora sighed,
"Ez, I won't be staying. I'll get a ship from the Rebellion, and that is all,"
Zeb growled,
"Who says that they will give you a ship? We are already low on supplies,"
Sora smirked,
"You may have some connections, including this fulcrum. But I have connections that run deeper. I simply need a comm. An old friend of mine is probably concerned about me right now,"
Kanan frowned,
"How did you end up crashing on Dantooine?"
Sora winced,
"Well, I was going through a blockade, and they must have hit my hyperdrive. When I went into hyperspace, I was thrown out of it, and here I am,"
Ezra smiled brightly at her,
"Maybe it's the force's way of telling you to come with us!"
Sora laughed and ruffled his hair,
"Sorry, kiddo, but that is definitely not how the force works. I would have known if it was pulling me somewhere,"
"The force works-"
"In mysterious ways, I know. But I think I know more than you do."
Kanan crossed his arms,
"Oh, really?"
Sora sighed and shook her head,
"I won't argue with you in front of my godson. Out of respect for him,"
Ezra glanced at the two before sighing,
"Alright, can we go now?"
Cody nodded,
"Yes, we should leave before the Empire finds us,"
Sora frowned,
"They did find you,"
They immediately looked at the young Jedi Master as she looked up at the sky,
"We need to leave. I am assuming that you have a ship in orbit waiting for us,"
They nodded, and Sora looked at Kanan,
"Our dispute can be settled when we are no longer in danger. They have not found this walker. But they will if we do not leave now."
Wolffe glared at her,
"Hold on. How do we know that they aren't looking for you?"
Sora shrugged,
"They would have been here as soon as I crashed if they were looking for me. Not everyone in the Empire knows about me, and I plan on keeping it that way,"
Kanan sighed,
"Everyone get on the ship. Now,"
Ezra grabbed Sora's hand and they all piled onto the ship, and took off. Kix glanced over at Sora and noticed she was glancing at her knees,
"Are you injured?"
Sora glanced at him and shook her head,
"No."
Kix raised his eyebrow at her,
"Are y-"
"Yes. Stop talking to me as if we are comrades,"
Kix sighed and looked away from her. Ezra frowned and looked at his Godmother in concern. She was different from the last time he saw her. Granted, he was five, but he remembered his godmother as being hyper and pure. He could sense that she had a heavy weight on her shoulders that kept getting heavier as the years went by. Sabine looked at Sora,
"So...your name is Sora?"
Sora nodded,
"Yes,"
"Got a last name?"
Sora glanced at Sabine and shook her head,
"No,"
Kanan called Ezra over to him, and Ezra immediately sat down next to his master,
"Ezra,"
"Yeah?"
Kanan glanced at Sora,
"How well do you know your godmother?"
Ezra immediately stood up and looked at Kanan,
"I trust her with my life. I don't care what you or anyone else here says about her. She's a part of my family. She was best friends with my parents before they got together. My mom would tell me stories of how she fought alongside the Clones to free Lothal from separatists. She is a good guy, Kanan,"
Kanan sighed,
"Ezra-"
"No. I don't want to talk about this anymore,"
Kanan sighed as he watched Ezra walk back over and sit beside her. He felt the force wrap around him as if to protect him. He saw Sora's hand on his leg and immediately knew she was the one to put a shield around him.
