Chapter Eight: Premonition
Chapter Eight
The Doctor turns, his eyebrows raised. "The famous Jade Stone needs my help? I am astonished, really." I roll my eyes and look at him pointedly. "Sorry, couldn't resist."
"Anyway, according to a deranged son of Apollo, Apollo is being held hostage by Hades. Hades will release him if I am turned over." The Doctor seems to be in thought.
"I don't think it's Hades doing it." I look at him as if he just said the Tardis was a male. "No, seriously, think about it. Why would Hades do this? I think there is someone pulling the strings. I think Hades is a pawn." I think for a moment, and then shake my head.
"He killed Cole for no reason; there is no end to his insanity!" I yell. I refuse to believe that Cole had died for no reason. The Doctor grabs my shoulders and makes me look at him.
"There must be something you aren't remembering, something that had been blocked off from your mind. You have to think, Jade, think!"
I dig through my mind, concentrating with all my might. There has to be something. Then there is something. A flash, a figure, I can barely make her out. I follow the image, it's so close. But, I can't reach it. I push and push...
Until I feel myself lose it and fade. There's a light, I can just barely grab it. Suddenly, I'm in a field. It is beautiful with tall oak trees and lush green grass with yellow flowers everywhere. I see a figure. I run as fast as I can, trying to reach it. When I do, it turns. I see her. Khoine. My mother. She smiles and waves, but there is blood on her hand. I scream and try to run but I am stuck in the ground.
Ash's POV
The Doctor tells her to dig through her thoughts. She gently closes her eyes, and for a minute, all she does is breath. And then she lets out a petrified gasp and falls. I catch her head before it hits the ground. She begins to scream and thrash, so I back away. The Doctor and Nico look just as helpless as me.
She thrashes and thrashes, and slowly loses the energy to fight. Her screams have turned to sobs, and the room begins to drop in temperature. I walk over to her and shake her shoulder. Her eyes shoot open; they are glossy and filled with panic.
"Khoine," she breathes out, her voice weak and hoarse.
"What?" I ask.
"Khoine," she says again, and slips into a coma like sleep.

Once Jade is in the infirmary, I walk up to her siblings and friends. They look at me expectantly.
"How is my sister," Sky asks, sounding worried.
"She's stable. Who is Khoine?" The group visibly stiffens.
"Khoine is the goddess of snow, Jade's mother. Where did you hear that from?" Annabeth asks.
"Jade whispered that before she passed out. I didn't know who that was." I say.
Nico looks up. "Of course!" he says, and beckons everyone to follow him.
Hey nerds! Hope you enjoyed!
