"You let it go? How is that an answer," Percy says.

"It is an answer," I say.

"How?"

"Because I don't exactly know how I did it. So..." Everyone looks at me as if I am possessed. My insecurities start creeping in. "I'm hungry."
"Jade, we have to figure out how this happened," Percy says. Panic flows through me as I step away.
"Why? It happened and we don't know why. Can't we just leave it at that?"
"Jade, calm down. We aren't doing experiments. Jade breathe," Cole says, staring at me. I keep stepping back, slightly scared of my friends, my family. Then, something catches my eye. A bolt of lightning hits the beach, close to where I'm standing. I am thrown back into the soft sand. I look up to see Zeus standing above me.
"You," he says, "How did you do it?"
"What?" I ask. I am so confused right now. What does he want?
"How did you freeze them?"
"She doesn't know, sir," Sky says from behind me. Zeus glares at her, then returns his icy stare to me. I stand and return his stare.
"I don't know." He lets out a growl and hits me, sending me flying. I hit the ground and roll over, so I'm facing him. Pain courses through my body. Tears prick my eyes but I force them down.
"This isn't right!" Zeus yells.
"Who cares! It isn't her fault!" Cole yells. Zeus glares at him.
"You stay out of this, young man! This isn't about you!"
"Leave him alone! He is just trying to help!" I growl.
"Zeus," a calm voice sounded. A beautiful woman steps out of the shadows. Hera.
"Your majesty," I say and curtsey politely. She smiles at me. Zeus frowns.
"Hera she is bad..."
"And polite, so leave her alone."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Thank you, my lady," I say. She smiles.
"Anytime."
