Prologue
Eleven-year-old Eleanor Jackson zoomed through the corridors of the palace, dodging servants and decorations. Her brother, Aidan Jackson, right on her heals.
"I'm gonna getcha!" Aidan called, speeding up slightly.
Eleanor shrieked, "No you won't! You'll never catch me! I'm to fast for you!"
The thirteen-year-old boy laughed and continued chasing his sister down the hallway.

"You wished to speak with us, Uncle?" A boy of sixteen, Theo Jackson asked, standing in the doorway of his Uncles' study, two of his siblings standing by his side, fourteen-year-old Lorelei Jackson, and fifteen-year-old Xander Jackson.
"Yes, come in, children." Isaiah Borge, the king of Meti, waved them in.
The children stepped in, unsure.
Uncle Isaiah looked up, grief swirling in his eyes, "Children, the most horrible thing has happened. Your mother..."
Lorelei's hand moved to her mouth, awaiting the news that was likely to be horrific.
"She's been murdered."
Theo closed his eyes, not wishing for his siblings, or Uncle, for that matter, to see him upset.
Lorelei simply said, "I'm guessing you called us here because yo-you want us to break the news to the younger ones carefully?" Theo looked at her wide-eyed, how was she so calm!?
"Indeed." Uncle Isaiah said. "I trust you will be able to do things without a fuss?"
Xander nodded, tears swimming in his green- with a brown ring- eyes.
"Off you go then." Uncle Isaiah murmured.

"Why don't you two go find Aziel and Lucinda, and bring them to the East Garden?" Theo asked, having a slight idea where Aidan and Eleanor were.
Lorelei nodded, still keeping her composure around the people hurrying past them, and walked off.
Xander glanced at Theo before walking after Lorelei.
Theo shook his head and started walking to the West side of the castle. As he walked he thought of his mother, she was a rather... strange woman. Each of his siblings had a different father, but they all looked similar so, most people didn't ask. He liked it that way, though. His father was an absolute idiot, very entitled. Only himself and Xander knew who there fathers were.
Theo found himself in front of the furious looking Head Cook. "Sorry to bother you, Prince Theo." The Head Cook calmed slightly.
"It's alright, what do you need, Miss Bes?" Theo asked.
"For you to go find Princess Eleanor and Prince Aidan and give them something to do, instead of racing down the halls and disturbing everyone?" She asked hopefully.
Theo laughed and nodded, "I was just of to fetch them to give them some... interesting news."
"I see... well then, they went that way." Miss Bes said, pointing that way.
"Don't worry, I'm sure they won't be bothering you anytime soon." And with that, Theo walked in the direction the Cook pointed.
Theo smiled sadly, hearing his youngest sisters' joyful shrieking and his brothers' laughs. He wondered how long it would be before he'd hear those again.

Eleanor was still giggling as she saw her older brother, Theo. "Hiya Te!"
"Hello Ellie." He said, looking quite sad, Aidan put a hand on his younger sisters' shoulder. "What happened, Theo?"
"I need you both to come with me." Theo said.
Eleanor nodded walking up to her brother and grinning at him. Aidan walked up to Theo's other side.
The siblings were quite as they walked to the East Garden. Well, Eleanor was humming, but that's not important.
They arrived to a sobbing Lucinda Jackson and Aziel Jackson, a solemnly quite Lorelei, and a very close-to-tears Xander.
"What happened?!" Aidan asked, hurtling over to his twin brother, Aziel and patting him on the back.
"Mother is d-dead." Lucinda sobbed.
Eleanor glanced between her siblings, not quite seeing much. Theo kneeled down beside her, "El?"
Eleanor started bawling, clinging to her older brother. She heard Xander murmuring to Lucinda and the creaking of the bench as they both sat down.
The cries of the children could be heard late into the night.
