Okay, so maybe Peter messed up.

He had been attempting to track down a drug cartel, and it got out of hand. REALLY out of hand.

Now, they were getting away.

"Brilliant." Peter groaned, swinging after the van. Why was it always a van?

They turned down a street, at WAY too high a speed. Wait... Peter knew that street...

(Y/N!)!

"Oh, no no no no..." He swung faster, knowing that (Y/N) walked down that road every day to get home from school. What he resented the most about this was that he knew no matter how fast he went, he'd get there too late.

A hero's gonna save me, just in time...

The song echoed through (Y/N)'s headphones as she walked the street in Queens, about a block from Peter's.

Peter...

Whatever. She was trying not to think about that boy, because she didn't have time for him. She didn't have time for boyfriends. Not if she wanted good grades.

A squeal of tires on pavement should've been enough to send anyone running, but (Y/N) didn't hear them. She didn't hear the roar of the engine as it came closer, nor did she hear the gunshots that echoed.

But, she did hear something eventually: an ugly thump as the van collided with her fragile frame, and sent her flying.

She felt her sides exploding with pain, and her ears rang like a doorbell. The last thing (Y/N) saw was Spider-Man standing over her, his hands resting on his head. He look angry, almost...

But then the world went dark.

Sorry for the crappy chapter. Writers block hit me hard with this one. I'll do better next time, promise.

BTW, the song that (Y/N) was listening to is called 'Hero' by Skillet. They are AMAZING, and by far my favourite band of all time.
