Part 36
Ariana POV
I quickly packed my bag and rushed off to the airport before the guys had a chance to catch me. I couldn't bear to say goodbye to them after everything that has happened; especially Sunggyu.
When I arrived back in the states, I rushed to the hospital. I didn't even bother going home to drop off my stuff.
When I arrived at the ICU, the nurse at the window asked "Who are you here to see?"
"I"m here for Latizia and Victor Leblanc."
"Your relation?"
"I'm their granddaughter."
"One moment" the nurse said as she went out back. When she returned she opened the door and said "You can come in. Follow me and I'll show you where they are."
I followed her around the unit until she came to two closed rooms. "Your grandparents are in these rooms" she pointed to the closed doors.
"Are they....."
"They are still unconscious" she said alleviating my worst fears. "You should know that there will be a lot of machines in the room and there will be a lot of tubes and wires attached to both of them."
"Okay" I nervously nodded my head, trying to grasp what she was telling me.
"You will be able to hold their hands, but you should use the hand cleaner first."
"Okay" I said and then opened the first door. Tears fell from my face as I saw my grandmother lying unconscious in the bed before me. I walked over to the hand cleanser and quickly washed my hands before going to her bedside and gently lifting her hand.
Like the nurse said, there were tubes, wires and machines everywhere. I couldn't bear to be in the room for more than a few minutes. I shakily walked over to the next room and opened the door. When I saw my grandfather in the same condition, I nearly collapsed to the floor.
"What do you think you are doing here?" I heard my mother's voice behind me.
I slowly turned around and saw my parents standing behind me. "Mom....Dad....." I slowly walked towards them. All I wanted to do was cry in their arms, but my mother had other plans.
She took a step forward and slapped me across the face. "How dare you show your face here! This is all your fault!"
"Darling please" my father tried to calm her.
"If you had any conscious at all, you never should have come back!" she screamed at me.
My father looked at me with sad eyes. I knew that he he didn't want to say what he was about to, but I also knew that he had to say it for my mother. "You should go, Ariana. I'll let you know if anything happens."
I nodded my head and said "Okay" with tears in my eyes. Then I quickly left the ICU. When I got to the waiting room, my sisters were there.
"Well, look who finally showed her good for nothing face" Deanna said.
"You should have just come back when we came to get you" Lena said. "Now look what has happened!"
"This is your fault" Deanna commented. "You should have been home to take care of them!"
After everything that has happened to me, I couldn't stay at the hospital any longer so I just left. I went to a hotel near by and booked a room because I knew that I couldn't go home with my mother and sisters yelling at me like that.
When my family left the hospital, my father texted me and told me that I could go back and see them again. I returned to the hospital and, with the permission of the nurses, stayed the night beside my grandparents.
When the morning came, the nurses woke me and said "You parents are back."
My eyes widened "What?"
"Don't worry. Your father explained that you don't have a good relationship with your mother right now. There is a back door that you can use over there" she pointed to a set of doors on the back side of the ICU. "There is also an elevator that will take you to the lobby."
"Thank you" I smiled before rushing to the door.
Days passed by one by one and everyday was the same. I would go and see my grandparents whenever my parents and sisters weren't around and the nurses would let me know when they arrived so that I could sneak out the back door of the ICU. Weeks past and they still showed no signs of waking.
Then one morning when the nurse came to tell me my parents had arrived, I stood up and collapsed to the floor. When I woke up, I found myself in the ER.
"Do you know where you are?" a nurse asked me.
"The hospital" I mumbled.
She smiled a little "Do you know why you are here?"
"I came to see my grandparents in the ICU."
"Can you tell me what happened?"
"The nurse said that I had to leave because my parents had arrived, so I got up and felt a little dizzy and......I can't remember anything after that."
"That's okay" she said. "You had passed out upstairs, so the nurses brought you down to the ER. How are you feeling now?"
"Better' I replied.
"That's good" the doctor said as she walked into the room. "I'm Dr. Park. According to your labs, you were a little dehydrated. We gave you two liters of fluids to help rehydrate you. Thankfully the baby seems to be fine."
My eyes widened. "Baby? What baby?"
"You're pregnant, Miss. Leblanc. Didn't you know?"
Tears began forming in my eyes as I shook my head. "No" I choked.
"Well according to the labs, you are about four weeks pregnant. You are still in your first trimester, so you should be careful. You'll need to follow up with an OB within the next week."
"Okay" I smiled.
"Congratulations!" the doctor said with a smile. "Once this liter of fluids is done, you can go home."
"Thank you Doctor" I smiled as she left the room.
Tears continued to fall from my eyes. I can't believe that I'm really pregnant.
The fluids finished and the nurse came in with my discharge paperwork. She removed my IV and had me sign a few papers before I was allowed to leave. "Don't forget to follow up with your OB" she said with a smile.
"Don't worry, I will" I smiled back.
That night I returned to the ICU to see my grandparents.
"How are you feeling?" the nurses asked. "We heard about what happened this morning. Are you okay?"
I smiled "I'm fine. The doctor said I was dehydrated and........"
"And?" they all looked at me waiting to see what I was going to say.
"I'm pregnant!" I smiled.
"Oh my! Really? Congratulations!" they all said as they hugged me. Over the past few weeks, the nurses had really become like family to me. More so than my real one. "You should tell your grandparents. I'm sure that they would be happy for you too."
"I will" I smiled as I walked to my grandmother's room. I had taken to swapping rooms each night, so tonight I was supposed to be with my grandfather, but I wanted to give my grandmother the happy news too.
"Hi Grandma!" I smiled as I gently lifted her hand. "I've got some good news for you" a stray tear escaped my eyes. "Your going to be a great grandparent soon!" I kissed her hand and then gently laid it back on the bed. Then I walked over to my grandfather's room and told him the same happy news.
