6. Visiting Mom
There was a chapter to come before/after this, but I scrapped because I realized it wasn't going to work for the plot (it was about Enzo, Rosa and Fae investigating Adrien's disappearance but I realized it doesn't fit anywhere, especially since they just had a huge fight).
Enjoy!
Fae sat down on a stool in her mother's studio.
She was in her childhood home. But she always thought it was too big now that it was just her mother in it (not counting the servants).
Fae tapped her finger impatiently on a folded arm as she looked around at her mother's designs.
She wasn't sure what drew her mother to fashion, but she knew that it was no surprise to people when Marinette and Adrien became an item. What was less of a surprise was the fact that Adrien proposed to her on a red carpet.
"Your eye was always drawn to that one." Fae turned her head up to see her mother, referring to the design on her left with a red, black polka dotted dress sketched onto the paper.
"Yeah... I think it's because the one you wore the night dad proposed." Her mother blushed.
"Yes, it is." She says, a smile crawling on her face, but soon it's gone.
"I'm glad you came-I was worried you wouldn't come. I... I need to talk to you."
"Yeah... Rosa told me." Fae replied, shifting a little in the stool.
"Hmm... how is she?"
"She wasn't injured in the fight last night--I assume you heard the news."
"I did."
It got quiet after that and suddenly Fae blurted out.
"Mom, I'm asexual." Marinette blinked at her daughter.
"Oh. Alright. Why are you telling me this now? I don't care what you are, sweetheart, I just want to know why now, not earlier or later." Fae shrugs, frazzled.
"I...I don't know-just thought you should know." Fae explains rapidly as her mother stares at her.
She silently nods and looks out the window.
"I set you up with a therapist." Fae looks up at her mother and blinks.
"A therapist?"
"Yes. For your anger issues."
"Anger-? I don't have anger issues!"
"Oh you don't do you? You nearly killed a man, Fae!"
"Yes! I know-Rosa already reminded me!." Fae snapped, slamming her hands on a nearby table of design sketches. Marinette winced and backed away from her daughter.
It was a couple of minutes before Fae pauses and got her hands off the table.
"When is my appointment?" Marinette hesitated.
"Well... right now. She's in the living room--"
"Of course she is!" Fae snaps, shrugging on her coat and slamming the door of her mother's studio behind her.
Author's Notes
Sorry for the abruptness of this-my math class is about to start and I couldn't really think of much.
I just needed to right to get out some frustrations so why not write a chapter for a book with loads of angst??
I'm trying to get this book done ASAP so I can work on other books and not worry about it anymore.
Bye!
