(It will probably take me years to write this roleplay but here's the basic setting and roles.)

Monsters are real - whether they be local legends like Nessie, or more global myths, like vampires. Most people that know of them call them 'irregulars'.

The irregulars developed a way to blend in amongst regular folk. With specially crafted jewellery, they were all able to adopt a human version of themselves if they wanted to live in peace. Many people believe in big foot, but not many know that he's currently working as a shopkeeper in a grocery store and calls himself Robert.

The majority of irregulars are peaceful and many have moved past some of their wilder days where they would kill (or simply scare) humans in order to live a more peaceful life. Some reject this lifestyle, choosing to remain in their irregular forms, while others continue to act as stereotypical monsters while remaining in their human forms.

Irregulars retain a certain amount of their powers while in human form, and some have taken to using these to stop crime or violent irregulars. The general public, who don't know of the existence of irregulars, call them superhumans.

So there are a few types of irregulars you can play:
- An irregular that pretends to be human, ignoring their irregular self unless completely necessary

- An irregular who keeps in contact with other irregulars though doesn't necessarily act as an irregular or use their powers. (e.g. My character Dubhchobhlaigh is going to run an irregular safe space where irregular can hide from 'hunters' and violent irregulars, get support, and can know when they're in danger as Dubhchobhlaigh is a banshee and can predict danger) This support group could be a fun way to include characters that aren't into the whole 'superhero' thing and just want a regular life. I'll probably expand of this later.

- Irregulars that have become a group of 'superheroes', using their powers to seek out the evil of the city and destroy it.

- Irregulars using their powers while in their human form for bad. (E.G. Hypnosis to steal money) The world tends to refer to them as 'super villains'.

- Irregulars who use their powers badly while in irregular form. E.g. A dragon that's still a dragon and likes to eat people.

- Irregulars who don't necessarily use their powers badly, but don't like being in human form (E.G. Idk, a fairy that's still a fairy)

- Irregulars that are always in irregular form because they never got a piece of the disguise jewellery (folktales that aren't known by many and happen in a remote location probably because the irregulars would try to make sure everyone had a chance to be human, and there isn't a shortage of jewellery (in fact, shops in irregular streets - will expand of that later - sell a large variety of jewellery which you can choose from, a lot of which you can get pretty cheap. Support groups like Dubhchobhlaigh's would give away some for free.))

- Irregulars that disapprove of irregulars that use their powers or don't stay in human from, could be violent or just disapproving.

- I'm sure there's more, which I'll probably expand on later, but as you can see, there's a lot of options~

There's a few humans that know of the existence of irregulars, which you can also play:

- "Oh yeah I like know a ghost? He's chill though" treats irregulars like people

- Hunters of irregulars. They can hunt all irregulars, only the bad ones, only the ones that use their powers, etc.

- "I'm going to PROVE that my roommate is a vampire." Those who try to convince others of the existence of irregulars and will probably be brushed off as conspiracy theorists.

- Just scared of irregulars.

Like I said for the irregulars, there's plenty more types of humans you can play, but that's just to give you a kind of idea what I want this to be like (i.e. Lots of tension everywhere!)

I'll write chapters expanded on all this later, don't worry, but yeah. The basic premise is that monsters exist and can look like humans with a piece of jewellery. Some of them become superheroes.

So yeah this probably won't update for ages but... that gives you plenty of time to think of character concepts!
