Chapter 20: Roh
Chapter 20: Roh
Roh went to the backstreet alley with the Mayor's bloody intestine. He didn't get Xienorra why he needed it to give it to Cessura and he was more confused when the silent innocent girl wrapped her white small soft hands to the disgusting human organ; as if just holding a casual rope. His eyes twitched when the girl bent it like a rubber, tied it to her violin and voila! Caessura stood up, screeched her bow against the new bloody string, secrete juices forming teardrops on the bow and gently falling on the ground.
From the shadows, a figure of man was born. A grotesque figure. No ears, nor arms, no feet, and the stomach was ripped empty. Roh's stare was hard to detach, can't believe that the woman in front of him was able to cheat Jembahal's promised afterlife. All he could hear was his chest drumming rapidly like in war, and memories were flashing instantly in a snap of a finger.
The wolf barked, getting Roh backed to his senses. He tapped his cheeks to bring back his focus and asked the dead,
"What is the code?"
"Ar, rar, ang ar..."
Roh looked at Caessura with a face asking "Are they really supposed to speak like this?"
"No tongue. Cut. Missing," she replied.
Roh slapped his face as he heaved a sigh, realizing the art of Malvado was imperfect. "Am I supposed to find his tongue too?"
Caessura looked at Amarok in its wolf form. The wolf then sniffed the mumbling corpse and left. After a few minutes, Amarok came back and gently spat out the piece of tongue. Caessura already prepared needles and stiches, held the tongue with her bare soft hand and sewed it back to the Mayor's corpse. It finally spoke.

They went back to the prison to tell the officer the code and as promised, the officer told them about Efran.
He wasn't imprisoned or dead, or not yet. The Legionnaire General requested his assistance due to the ability he showed from the last encounter. Other than that, the officer knew nothing at all, not even knowing where the secret hide-out of the operation was.
Roh sighed, "Oh, dear, Efry. You really made me worried. Wait. How are we supposed to know the camp?"
"I know every camp."
Roh jumped out of surprise, prepared his weapon and looked around in panic.
"Above you."
On the roof, a silhuotte of a fallen angel against the moon, crouching like an ancient Alt statue. He stood up. His massive wings shook and its turquiose feathers gently fell in the air as he hopped down the ground.
"For Jembahal's sake! You're just appearing out of nowhere!"
Caessura giggled, like was saying "Aren't you the same?"
"No more further ado. I was summoned to aid your mission."
"Gladly!" Roh exclaimed with his hands up. "He sent you in a perfect timing when everyone had split apart already! Why didn't he sent more manpower earlier so we won't come to this! Either the government or the rebels is our f*cking enemies! And it's only us five against this damn whole country!"
"We are also investigating as you do. You five are tasked to find the rebel's hideout while I was observing the palace. I was almost than if you just did your jobs well."
"Wait, did you just say 'we'? As in, we're not the only five following the invisible king?"
"Yes. There are two more you haven't met yet."
