Beep! Beep! Beep!

That was my alarm clock! It was time to get up to leave!

I slammed my hand on top of it and then jumped out of bed quickly and went to my closet.

Since I was just going to be on an airplane for a long time, I decided to not dress fancy.

I chose sweatpants, a tshirt, a cardigan, and some boots.

Then I put my hair into a messy bun and grabbed my suitcase.

It was too early in the morning for Helen and
Bobby and Matthew, so dad was driving me to the airport.

"Hey Annabeth."

"Hi Daddy."

I grabbed a coffee cup, put coffee in it, and sat down.

"When is the flight?"

"In an hour. We need at least 30 minutes to drive there and the other 30 to check in."

"Okay."

I quickly drank my coffee and put the cup in the sink.

Then I grabbed my suitcase, my pillow, and my personal handbag and put it in the car.

We drove there in silence, then checked in. We were some of the first people there.

Then dad had to leave.

"Annabeth, I have to go now. Um lets see, here's your ticket, it's first class. Call me when you get there. I've arranged for a taxi to drive you to the school. The driver will have a big sign with your name. I'm sorry you have to be sent here, but it's for your own good. I love you."

I hugged him.

"I love you too daddy."

Then he left. I looked down at my ticket. It was on American Airlines, and first class. It would take 5 hours to get there, with no stops. I would get there at 1 o clock.

Before we boarded the plane, we had to put our suitcases through the metal detector. Then we walked through it and boarded the plane.

I walked towards the front and found my seat, number 7A.

The speaker came on.

"Hey everybody, this is your captain speaking. We are about to lift off, so stay calm and in your seats. Keep your throw up bags nearby if nessicary. Αlso, buckle your seatbelts for safety. If you need anything, tell the flight attendants. Thank you for flying with American Airlines!"

I was pretty calm. I didn't have anybody sitting in the seat besides me, and I'd flown before. One time dad had taken me to Athens.

It felt awesome when they took off. You got pushed back into your seat, and it felt like you were invincible for a minute.

After we took off, a flight attendant asked me if I wanted anything.

"I'll have a bag of chips and a blueberry smoothie, thanks.

After she brought me the food, I settled back into the big, comfortable seat, and got out The Maze Runner.

I put my headphones in and turned on some music too. I hadn't felt this relaxed in a long time.

I guess I fell asleep, because the next thing I knew a flight attendant was shaking me.

"Huh?"

"Ms. Chase, we have 30 minutes until we land."

"Oh thank you."

I put my phone and book bag into my bag and looked out the window to enjoy the view.

When we flew through the clouds, I gasped.

New York was amazing!

The skyline was awesome, with the tall skyscrapers in the distance.

You could see Lady Liberty also, holding her torch up proudly.

And the architecture, oh the architecture, it was wonderful!

I had a feeling I would be enjoying New York.
