Amy couldn't believe Jonah Parker pulled her name out and now both of them were to work together. She felt the look of the other girls on her, and she knew it wasn't because they were happy for her. She was thankful none of them had laser eyes or she would be dead already, as all their looks were icy and somehow murderous.

When the bell indicating the period was over she rushed to the bathroom as she just wanted to be alone to order her ideas. When she felt calmer she walked to her next class.Lunch was next and she waited patiently for Dana to arrive and tell her everything that happened. She glanced around to see if she could see her but instead her eyes found Jonah, whose eyes also saw her and approached her.

"Damn. " Amy whispered to herself.

"So, Wilkes. You and I will be partners in English class." He said leaning a hand on the desk.

"Yes, we are. " Amy said with a shy smile.

"We should exchange phone numbers since we will have to talk constantly.What's your number?" He said taking out his phone from his pocket.

Amy gave her number and Jonah dialed it in his phone, seconds later Amy's phone number started ringing, and afterwards it stopped.

"Done. Now you have my number. We'll keep in touch. See ya." He said with a smile and leaving.

In that same moment Dana sat next to her friend, however Amy didn't seem to notice her presence since she couldn't believe she exchanged phone numbers with Jonah.It was something she only imagined in her head.

"You won't guess what just happened." Dana said shaking Amy. "

"What?" Amy asked.

"I was told to go to the Principal's office. I was asked what happened between you and Jenna yesterday."

"Yeah, Sean came to talk about that incident in the morning.What happened?" Amy asked interested.

"I said she pushed you to the wall and i had to stop her. She said you insulted her, but i said it wasn't like that since we were both talking and she got in the conversation without being invited.At the end the principal said she has detention today and tomorrow.Karma really works for what i see."

"Wow. "

"If you ask me, that's way too soft for her.Considering how rude she is to everyone. "

"I have to tell you something. Jonah and i were paired up for English class."

Dana opened her mouth so much that Amy had to close it.

"Ok, wait for me to grab my food and i'll be back as soon as possible to listen to that story.

Ten minutes later Dana was with her food, a burger with cheese fries and a diet coke. Amy almost laughed since Dana always mentioned she wanted to lose weight and yet ate whatever she wanted.

"Start then, what happened?" Dana said giving a bite to her burger.

"The guys had to pull the girls' names from a bowl, to know who their partners were since we are going to be working up in a romantic scene in Literature. And before you came he asked me for my phone number. "

"This day has been amazing, Jenna having detention and Jonah asking your phone number. So, are you going to call him? "

"No, why would I call him?" Amy said shaking her head.

"To ask him out. Duh. "

"I can't ask him out. "

"Why not?"Dana replied placing her hands on her face and staring at Amy.

"What am i supposed to say?Hey Jonah, want to go out with me?He might as well say no. "

"You won't know unless you try. "

"You know it will never happen; I don't have the guts to do it. And even if I had them, he would probably say no when he has girls all over him." She said crossing her arms.

"Don't underestimate yourself Am, you are a great girl. Pretty and kindhearted. You just need to pull out the confidence that is inside you.  "

Amy decided not to contradict her friend, she would always say something to make her feel better. That's what she loved about Dana, no matter what she was always for here. Amy got some books in her locker and walked with Dana to the school entrance, however a sheet posted in the bulletin board that called her attention. It was about auditions for a school play called "The Winter's Tale." Amy knew about that play as she watched "The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2" and Carmen played a role on it.

"Oh, we should totally try out. " Dana said crossing her arms.

"I don't think so, I don't have the courage to speak in front of so many people. I may just better be offstage. "

"You're doing it again Amy, stop attacking yourself.I have heard you say out loud facts when you're studying. You would rock it. "

"It will be fun, don't be afraid. " A masculine voice said from behind.

The two girls turned backwards and saw a guy with brown hair combed backwards, with black glasses and wearing a Jurassic Park tshirt. Amy knew who he was, he was Jeremy Price, they were classmates in Literature class. He was one of the best students, with good grades and knowledge with everything related to Technology.

"I'm sorry girls, I hope I didn't scare you. I'm just trying to recruit as many people as possible. It was my idea to have the play and convince Mr. Geller. He might even give extra points to the students that participate." Jeremy said.

"That's amazing. " Amy answered.

"So I hope you girls give it a try. Goodbye." He said leaving.

Dana waited until he left and was far away to speak to Amy again.

"God, he startled me. Where did he came from?" Dana asked.

"From that side of the hall. " Amy jokingly answered pointing to the other side of the hall.

"Ha ha, not funny. " Dana opened her backpack and took out a black pen . "So, are we doing this or not?I believe it will be fun."

Amy was not so sure to do it, she was an  introverted person, she would have never seen herself in a stage acting. However Dana looked enthusiastic and the truth is a part of her wanted to try something new. Who knew, she might as well have fun and enjoy it.

"Go ahead, write our names. "

As she ate dinner with Sean that night she noticed he was usually more hungry that other nights. She wondered if he had a busy day and because of that he couldn't eat at work. Usually he ate slowly but this time he most focused on his food and nothing else. It was the first time she ever saw him like that.

"I see you have a huge appetite tonight. " Amy said biting her piece of steak.

"I could barely eat today. Thinking about what happened at your school and I have had many exams to check. Talking about that, did that girl mess with you again?" Sean asked cleaning himself with a napkin and looking at his sister.

"Nope, from what i heard she got two day detention."

"Good to know, schools shouldn't tolerate bullying. And I'm not letting anyone mess with you for fun. "

"Thanks Sean, you always take care of me. " Amy said kissing him on the cheek.

It was almost nine pm and Amy finished washing her teeth and getting ready to go to bed. She checked her phone for the last time before going to sleep when the screen showed she had a new text message. Imagining it was Dana who would say something about the play she opened it, but to her surprise it was wasn't Dana who sent it. It was Jonah.

J: "Hey Wilkes, sorry for texting you at this hour, but i had to talk to you. I was just told soccer practice is cancelled tomorrow, and i wanted to know if we could get together after school to start working in our assignment. What do you say?"

Amy felt her heart beating faster as she read the text message several times. Her crush just texted her, asking her to get together after school. She felt tempted to scream but she couldn't since she would wake up Sean or the next door neighbors, and she didn't want to get in any trouble.She placed her fingers on the keyboard to answer but she couldn't think in what she could say. Yes or no?Or something else added to it? She was so nervous she had no idea what to do.
