Amy put on the clothes that Dana bought for her as she looked herself on her mirror. She liked it a lot, but felt somehow uncomfortable. It was the first time she wore something that revealed that much, and when she sat down she felt her underwear would be seen. She looked on drawers for a pair of black stockings, put them on and matched them with her black leather boots. Sean gave an impressed whistle when seeing her.
"You like it?" She asked looking at herself then at him.
"I do, it's simple and nice. Where is he taking you?"
"I have no idea, he didn't say. "
Sean took out something from his pocket and handed it to her, it was a pink and red bottle spray, to which Amy had an idea to what it was.
"It's pepper spray, right?" She asked looking at it.
"Yes, just in case. After what happened at that party i got really concerned, Jonah looks like a gentleman but it makes no harm for you to have it. "
"Thanks. " She answered placing it in her backpack.
"Remember to message me if anything happens, if you need me to pick you you or whatever you need."
"I will. "
As Amy walked through the school halls she felt the looks from the other students on her, she understood why, it was the first way she came dressed in that way but she felt they were overreacting, it was not that of a big deal. She felt someone touching her shoulder, she turned and it was Dana.
"Wow girl, you know how to make an entrance. You look awesome. "
"Thanks to you, you picked the outfit for me. " Amy answered smiling.
" Who knows, may be i would do great working at a store. "
"Yeah, maybe that's your calling. Have you seen Jonah?"
"No, are you going to ask him about what Jenna said?"
"Yes, I know she might have been lying, but what if not?"
"You have all right to know, ask him if that makes you feel better. "
The bell rang indicating classes were starting, to which she walked to her English class. Jonah came inside dressed with a beanie, a gray t shirt, black jeans and black boots. He saw her and smiled, and walked to the seat next to her.
"You look awesome Wilkes, are you ready for today?" He said with a charming smile.
"I need to ask you something first. " She whispered.
He was about to ask what was it when Mr. Geller started the class. When the class ended Jonah quickly addressed Amy.
"What do you want to talk about?" He asked as he placed his backpack on his shoulder.
"I would prefer if it would be in a more private place. " Amy said.
They walked outside the classroom and close to an emergency exit.
"Ok, what is it?" He asked.
"Is it true the soccer team has a book where they write all the girls they date and receive points?" She asked staring at him.
"What?"
"You heard me. "Amy said not losing her sight from him.
"It's true, but my name is not on it. I swear, I asked you out in an honest way. I have no reason to lie to you. Do you believe me?"
His eyes were begging her to believe him, and he did look honest. Since the beginning he was nice to her,he defended her on several ocassions, he did proved she could trust him. And she trusted him now.
"I believe you. "
"Thanks, I appreciate it. "
"You're welcome. "
" Just by curiosity, who told you about the book?"
"Jenna." She answered before leaving.
Classes were over, and Amy walked with Jonah to his car. He started driving, and all he could think now was how mad he was at Jenna for trying to sabotage his date with Amy. That was enough, and he would do something about it. He wouldn't let Jenna mess with his life.
"What are you thinking about?" Amy asked him.
"Huh?"
"You're so quiet, as if something is in your head. "
"Nothing really, just homework. Are you hungry?"
He felt bad, it wasn't fair for her to not pay attention to her when he was the one who asked her out. He shouldn't have been thinking in another girl, even if he was mad at her. From now on, all his attention would go to her.
"Yes. By the way, you haven't told me where we are going."
"Do you like carnivals? There's one on the port tonight."
"We're really going there?" She asked surprised.
"If you don't like the idea, i have other plans in mind..." He started.
"No, I like carnivals. "
"Good, we can eat something first, so that way when we get in the rides we won't throw up. Is there a place you would like you to go?"
"No, any place is fine. "
Jonah stopped on an Ihop, and after getting out he opened Amy's door and walked with her inside the restaurant opening the door for her. When they finished eating they drove again for one hour and arrived to the carnival. It was close to the beach, the lights of the place made it look charming and attractive, and since the sunset was happening the pink and orange colors made the sky looked like a canvas picture. Amy felt that it would be a night to remember, and she would never forget it.
"Are you ready to have fun?" He asked.
"I am. " She answered nodding her head.
Hannah Reynolds felt like going to her favorite cafe, so she grabbed her copy of Nicholas Sparks "Nights In Rodanthe" and got in her car. She ordered her usual espresso and a chocolate cookie when she heard someone calling her, she turned and it turned out to be Sean Wilkes. He was dressed with a formal shirt and a tie, to which she guessed he came after work.
"Ms. Reynolds, what a surprise to find you here. " He said with a smile on his face.
"Hello, nice to see you. " She answered trying not to sound nervous.
"Are you waiting for someone?" He asked looking at the empty chair next to her.
"No, tonight it's only me and my book." She said showing it to him.
"That's a shame, i was about to ask you to sit with me. Enjoy your night. " He said walking away.
" I don't mind some company tonight." She quickly answered.
"Good. Come join me. " He said pointing his table.
"Or you could join me. " she said pointing the empty chair next to her.
They both sat together next to a window. People were passing by, and some of them looked through the window.
"May i ask what you're reading?" Sean asked interested.
"Nights In Rodanthe from Nicholas Sparks. "
"So Nicholas Sparks, it's a long time since i read something from him. "
"Which of his works have you read?" She asked as she took a sip from her espresso.
"A Walk To Remember, but i read it before watching the movie. Usually i am the type of person that first reads the book and later watches the movie."
"So do i, you know that sometimes movies don't make books justice. It's actually sad. That happened to me when i saw The Fault In Our Stars, the movie has many differences from the book. "
"The same happened when I watched Me Before You, there are several things mentioned in the book that book that don't appear in the movie. "
"Please don't spoil me anything, i haven't read the book yet. " She said biting her cookie.
"I won't, what else do you enjoy reading?" He asked placing his hands together.
The two of them were enjoying their conversation talking about books and their jobs. Hannah couldn't feel attracted to him, he proved he was not only an attractive face but he also was a smart guy. It was a long time since she had a conversation with someone like him, and inside her she was wishing the night would never end. They had no idea that outside from the place they were being watched by Anabelle Clark, who was not too happy seeing them together.
