Jonah felt sorry for exploding to Amy the way he did. Last night his dad had a business dinner, and he wasn't really eager to go, but since his father insisted, he went with him to an elegant restaurant. The other men started bragging about their kids, how all of them were Harvard students being lawyers, doctors, engineers etc. However, the conversation later turned to Jonah in an unexpected way.

"What about you, Jonah?" A guy called Robert asked.

"I'm the soccer captain in my school. " He answered with a smile.

"And what about your grades?" another dude whose name was Bryan or Ryan asked. Jonah couldn't remember his name and he didn't really cared.

"I'm passing my classes. " Jonah said drinking from his water.

" You are not interested in a scholarship? " Steven asked.

"I plan on having an athletic scholarship. "

"You could do such better with an academic one, you know how jocks are quite successful for a time but when they age their career is over. " Robert said.

If it would have been for him, Jonah would have thrown his water at his face, however he knew he couldn't since his father wanted to close a deal. Those men only made him feel as a brainless jock, that was ruining his life for not having the best grades.And what hurt him the most is that his dad didn't bother in defending him, he just changed the conversation topic.

Amy knew Sean would be concerned about her, so she decided to send him a text.That way he would understand she was fine.

A: My classmate says he will take me home. I hope you are ok with that.

S: I hope he behaves. If not, don't hesitate to kick him in the crotch.

Amy couldn't help smile a bit when reading this.

A: So see you later?

S: I have no choice, i have to stay a bit more here. If anything happens, just call me.

Jonah noticed Amy was texting, and the smile the conversation produced on her, making him wonder who she was talking to. He didn't know why but he felt certain jealousy,who was she speaking to?

"Are you talking to your boyfriend?" He asked stopping before a stop sign.

Amy looked at him with a surprised glaze on her face.

"No, it's my brother. "

That question made Amy wondered, was it because of curiosity or jealousy?Probably the first one, he had no reason to be jealous. He was Jonah Parker, the Soccer Captain, he could have any girl he wanted. As simple as that. Jonah parked the car and both entered to the ice cream store. The girls who saw him looked at him interested, and Amy understood why. He was the type of guy that would make girls turn around.

"Grab a seat, and I'll order. What do you want to order?" He asked.

"Chocolate, please. " She answered and sat down on an empty seat. Two minutes later he came with a tray carrying two ice cream cups in his hands. He sat and placed the chocolate ice cream in front of her, he ordered vanilla for himself.

"Thanks. " she said as she grabbed a scoop from her ice cream. It felt really tasty, creamy and sweet. "This is delicious."

"I know, it's great. I want to apologize, for the way i exploded at you. I have had a lot stuff in my head lately. "

Amy felt tempted to ask, but she didn't want to make herself look nosey, and probably he was more of a private person. The only thing that came to her was "I'm sorry to hear that. "

"You know, people listen to my name and all they can see on me is a jock. It frustrates me, and makes me wonder if that's all I really am. "

"Have you tried any other activities at school?"Amy asked placing her hands on the desk.

"Like what?" He asked looking at her.

"For example, my friend Dana and I will try auditioning for a school play. It's something new for me, and to be honest I am bit nervous. But I'll try to have fun. "

"You are not afraid you might fail?" The moment the words came from his mouth he regretted it.He didn't want to made it sound the way it did. "I'm sorry, i didn't mean it that way. "

"It's okay, to be honest, yes, a part of me is insecure. But i have to try at least. "

The way she spoke was soft spoken but it still had certain confidence. Jonah wasn't sure, but there was something about her that made him feel as if she could talk with her about anything. Usually he would only feel with Danny, Trent and Natasha, and apparently,now her.

"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom. " she said standing up.

Amy washed her face as she looked on the mirror. She was hoping she wouldn't do something embarassing while being with Jonah. She fixed her hair and walked to the table, where she saw two blonde tall girls wearing miniskirts talking to Jonah. She just left for two minutes maximum, and two girls approached him.There were flies wanting to step on honey. Jonah smiled when seeing her, afterwards he stood up and gave her a kiss, close to her mouth.

"Play along to what I say. " He whispered on her ear and later spoke to the girls. " See girls, I was not lying I came with my girlfriend.

"You heard him, ladies. " Amy said as she placed her hand on Jonah's chest.

The two girls frowned and left, to which Jonah's mouth left a small laugh.

"Thanks Wilkes, for helping me. Those girls were annoying as hell. You would be a great actress."

Jonah drove her home and as she was unbuckling her seat belt she noticed he was doing the same.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"I'll walk you. " He answered.

"It's not necessary. "

"It's the least I can do, after making you my fake girlfriend for today. "

He walked next to her to her apartment, two- hundred ten. She grabbed her keys and after opening she looked at him.

"Thanks for everything, see you tomorrow. "

"See you at school. " He smiled and walked away.

That night at dinner Amy told Sean about how she planned on auditioning for the role, and Sean seemed glad with the idea. He encouraged her to get involved with it.

"That's great Aims, you might as well get a main role. " he said eating from his spaghetti.

"Don't get too enthusiastic, I might or not get a role. It's a tryout. Dana says her mother can bring us home after practices, if we get in."

"If you do your best i'm sure you'll be be casted. By the way, how was your meeting with your classmate?"

Amy was hoping Sean wouldn't ask, since he would interrogate her just like a detective does with a murder suspect, but it was something it would happen sooner or later. And it was sooner.

"We are going to read a piece from Jane Austin's Pride And Prejudice. "

"That's a great work, a classic. How did you get the idea?"

"Actually it was his, he even brought a copy. "

"An impressive guy, what's his name?"

"Jonah. "

"It's the guy you like?"

"The same ."

"Why didn't you tell me? " Sean asked crossing his arms.

"Because you would have reacted the same way you are now, and it's not a big deal. It was only a homework assignment.

"Ok, you are right. Go to bed, I'll wash the dishes. "

"That's fine, I'll wash them. "

Amy knew her brother was exhausted, he was yawning during all dinner and rubbed the back part of his neck. She was hoping he was not overdoing too much, or he might get sick, and Sean was not the type of employee that liked missing to work.

"Are you sure? "

"Totally. Go to bed.I'll go to bed as soon as i'm finished. "

Amy put on the plastic gloves to wash the dishes when her phone started ringing. The caller id showed it was Dana. She took of her glove to press the answer button.

"Hey Dana. "

"I was waiting your call, so you would tell me what happened with Jonah today."

Amy told her eveything, how he invited her to an ice cream, and asked her to pretend to be his girlfriend, even about the kiss he gave her. She could listen how Dana was trying not to scream at the other side of the line, she felt almost like laughing.

"You had your first date with Jonah, I'm so happy for you. "

"It was not a date, we just hanged out together. "

"That's how you call a date, when a guy and a girl hang out together. "

"It was not like that Dana. We'll talk tomorrow, i have to finish washing dishes."

Amy hanged, and finished washing and went to her bedroom to get ready to sleep.She turned on the light and went to bed happily thinking how awesome her day turned out to be,as she had a time together with Jonah. She knew it wasn't a date, but it still made her happy.Little she knew that Jonah, shared that same thought as she was on bed that night.He was thinking in how much fun he had with Amy, and how he was wanting to repeat the experience.
