Chapter Three

Three weeks has passed so swiftly, still yet the arguments in the police courtyard refused to subside regarding the case. Grey has been in jail without any hope, for the past three weeks, no one called nor came to see him. He buried his face in between his palms, as he kept thinking.
He heard gross footsteps and then suddenly, the gate flunged open.

"Step out Mr Grey!" The cop ordered.

He dragged his feet out of the lock up... He walked briefly down the hallway as two cops accompanied him behind.

He had crazy thoughts in his mind. He wish he could knock down both cops and flee from prison.

"Hey Mister! Step into that room." The voice came snapping him out of his imagination.

He walked into the 'interrogation room' and the door was slammed behind him. He took a deep breath and pulled out a chair for himself.

Twenty minutes passed and Grey still had no clue as to why he was still seated.

Suddenly, he heard the door unbolting and decided not to look behind him.

A strong scent filled the air, as steps were taken towards him. He heard the chair being pulled out but kept his gaze to the ground.

A slight cough was heard.

"May I get your attention please?" The cool and calm voice came through.

Grey was forced to look up, only for his gaze to fall on the smart and beautiful lady in front of him.

She placed a recorder on the table and folded both hands on the table.

"I am Diana, the new detective. I have just one rule." She paused expecting a response.

"Which is?" Grey asked whilst blushing at the sight of her.

"Speak the truth." She landed.

Grey simply nodded.

"May we proceed?" She asked further.

Grey simply nodded his head again.

"You don't have a lawyer. Why?" She asked.

"Well.... I don't need anyone to prove my innocence.". He replied.

"The track signal on your phone revealed the fact that you arrived twenty minutes at the detective's home. But spent only five minutes waiting for him before you left. So you couldn't be the killer or probably the killer traced you." She paused again waiting for a reply but there was none then, she proceeded.

"On the night of Tasha's death, where were you?" She asked.

"At the office." He replied.

"Who is Collins?" She asked further.

His mood changed at the mention of that name.

"Her ex husband." He replied.

Diana who notice his current mood, slammed her hand lightly on the table.

"According to your statement, you vowed to kill Tasha if you ever saw her with Collins again." She paused.

"That proves nothing." Grey defended.

"Well it does. You could have sent someone to kill her cause you couldn't stand the jealousy." She said smacking her hands on the table, louder this time around.

"I did not kill her." Grey yelled.

"Directly you didn't, but indirectly, you did." She said accusingly.

"What the fuck!" Grey cursed.

Diana simply pushed her chair backwards and stood up, walking around the room.

"Mr Grey! Do you think Tasha ever had an enemy, who could probably want her dead?" She paused.

The angry Grey had no choice but to speak.

"Actually, I don't know. She only had Collins hovering around her lately. And that made me really furious but I couldn't have killed the woman I loved." Grey tried to reason with her.

She grabbed the recorder on the table and blinked at him a few times before making her way out towards the door.
