Chapter 6. Jellybean

Setting: Chipotle parking lot (If you forgot)

Jill

I take a bite out of my burrito and my taste buds are in ecstasy. Now I don't regret throwing away my sandwich at all. 

"This is delicious as always, thanks to Ben for bringing me here," I say while looking at Ben devour his steak tacos.
"Mhm yeah no problem Jill, anytime," he says with a full mouth. I smile and start to eat my burrito. While we ate, we jammed to songs on the radio, and believe it or not, this is the most fun I've ever had with someone other than my sister and Dani.

"Ugh I'm so full," I say while yawning, wow the carbs are really getting to me. "Same, let's head to your house now. You can nap while I'm driving, I'll just tell you when we're there." He says while backing out of the parking spot.

"Mkay" Is what I say before shutting my eyes and falling into a deep nap.

"Hey jellybean, it's time to wake up now" I hear a voice say while I'm being shaken by someone.
" Oh we're here already? Ugh five more minutes," I say while closing my eyes again.

" Nope, you gotta wake up Jill it's already 3:45 your mom's gonna be home soon.". Oh, shoot, my homework. I mentally facepalm myself before getting out of his car.

I unlock the door and tell him to take off his shoes which he immediately does. "Ok, time to work on homework," I say while throwing my backpack onto the counter. "Homework? I thought we're just going to chill." He says while lowering his own backpack onto the ground. 

" You can watch TV, I'm the one who's gotta work because I don't have time once my mom gets home" I take a bag of potato chips out of the pantry and open it up. I turn on the TV for him and I lower the volume so I can focus. He goes on Netflix and I just let him use my account.

I get working on my homework and in the middle of it, a certain thought comes to mind.

"Hey Jill, is it true your dating Ben Mylo from Dreven?"

I look back and stare at Ben for a while. How did they know that I know him?

I see him turn around as if he knew that I was staring at him. I quickly turn around and I think he didn't see that. Right?
"I saw you staring Jill, what is it? Can't stand this handsomeness?" I turn around and I see him smirking. I sigh and say " Actually no, that smirk was remorseful and I was going to ask you something." I say while turning back to my work.

"Well, what is it then Jellybean?" He says while pausing his show. "I- wait, did you just call me jellybean?" I say with a confused face. No one ever gave me a nickname because my name was already short. "Yes I did, what you've never had a nickname before? Anyways what were you trying to tell me?" He says with a tired expression.  

"First of all, yes because my name is too short" what is up with this dude? Can he read my mind? " And second of all, why were my classmates telling me that I'm dating you when we are clearly not and will probably never."

"Well, I might have told some friends that I met you and word travels fast and someone must've stretched the truth." He shrugs while turning back to the TV. "Uh well, can you tell your friends that we're NOT dating and I hope that word travels fast?" I groan because I am clearly exhausted today. 

"You alright jellybean?" He says while turning back to look at me. "Not really, this day kinda sucks because my best friend just left me hanging for a doctor's appointment and this homework sucks and I almost got my first kiss to this person I like but I stopped it because I was stupid and-"

"Wait, wait, wait you've never kissed anyone before?" And I've said too much. My cheeks blush and I say stuttering "uh- i- no- I mean, yes, I haven't". " I'm actually not surprised giving off the personality going on here" I glare at him and right before he tries to defend himself I hear,

"Hi honey, I'm home!" My mom. I walk up to her in the kitchen and hug her. "Hi Mom," I say while putting on a smile. "Hi, Mrs. Tracy" I hear Ben say. 

"Oh please, call me Kate or Katy if you want," she says pulling him into a hug. "Well now that you're home mom, Ben can head home," I say trying to lead him to the front door. We all walk towards the door. "Thank you honey for picking up Jill from school and staying with her," My mom says. "You sure you don't wanna stay for dinner?".

My breath hitches and a nervous expression takes over my face. Stay? For dinner? I thought it was he was going to leave!

Ben takes a look at my face and returns with a smile saying to my mom, "No thanks Katy, but I think my parents want me home soon. Thanks for the offer though!"

I give him a little smile in return and say goodbye. After that everything went back to normal.

After Tuesday, everything went downhill.

Do you remember the "incident" that happened with Parker and me? Yeah, he hates me now. Whenever we pass in the hallways he either glares at me or just ignores me, which totally makes sense because I think I hurt his feelings. 

We stopped our tutoring at lunch and it's just straight-up awkward. Anyhow, Dani is back and she's doing well. I filled her in on what happened when she was gone and she got mad at the fact that Jack kinda made fun of me. I told her to calm down because Ben said he was going to tell his friends that we're not.

It's Friday now and my parents are packing for their trip to Las Vegas. They're leaving on Sunday and returning next Sunday. Ate Gemma will be dropping and picking them up from the airport and then come home to watch me. 

After Tuesday, and Ben has been more in contact, and we text and call each other a lot. I think and Ben are good friends now. Well, obviously not the best because that's Dani's title.

We agreed to hang out next week when my parents are on their honeymoon trip. Ate Gemma probably won't even care which I'm glad for. She'll probably be doing other things like hanging out with her boyfriend or whatever.

Also, Ben invited me and Dani to his next soccer game! I've never been to one so that's going to be a first.

A/N: Hey guys hoped you liked this chapter! It seemed pretty average to me but I liked the result. If you swiped on the video up top you can see the edit I made for Jill and Ben which I think are really cute. Btw, the next week or so I'll probably be late to update because of school. I'm thinking of doing a POV for Ben next chapter so stay updated for that!
