Chapter 24: Like? No Way

Finally, the state fair is finally open. It's been like two weeks I think since we've hung out and my parents are especially happy about me finally staying home and not going anywhere so that I can do more chores.

We plan on going on a weekday just because we expect less people. "Hey, we should just buy like 500 tickets and share it then buy a bunch of funnel cakes and pretzels." Dani says over the phone.

"Should we just combine all of our money?" Ben adds. We're all on facetime and trying to agree on all of the same things. "Yeah, that's fine, we'll have much more money to spend." I say.

"Hey I wanna come!" Will says coming into Ben's camera. "No way your coming," Dani says. "What? Come on, I'm your cousin, Ben's best friend, I definitely can." He replies. What would be his relation to me? I thought to myself. I mean, we aren't really friends considering we don't really talk to each other and the only reason we're around each other is because Dani or Ben.

"Fine, you can come." Dani says. "Yes!" Will exclaims. "But, it's only because I don't wanna become a third wheel when Ben and Jill start talking to each other." Dani adds.

"What?" I question. I don't think I make her the third wheel. Do I?
"Like come on, you leave me to watch Highschool Musical and deal with Will's girlfriend singing? That was horrible by the way Will, never invite her to hang out with us again." Dani says. "Then, you and Ben go in MY room to talk and close the door (which makes it way more suspicious) and then pretend to make-out with each other. That is like a total ship. You know what, that ship has officially sailed and I approve of it."

No no no no. I don't like Ben. "What?" I repeat again for my lack of better words. Will pops his head into camera view and agrees with Dani. "Ahaha, guys I don't think Jill and I are like that." Ben says. "Oh well then, I was sure Jill at least liked Ben" Dani says sighing. "Like? No way. No offense by the way Ben," I say surprised.

"None taken," Ben replies. "My mom wouldn't like me in a relationship anyways," I add. "I guess thats true, she's always like, 'you need to get an education first'" Dani says mimicking my mom. "Really? Your mom seemed pretty cool during Tahoe" Ben says. "Oh, really? I dare you to ask her about boyfriends and she will immediately shut you down." I acknowledge.

"Ok, lets put that to the test then," he replies. "What? You seriously aren't going to ask her that," I say. "Maybe I will maybe I won't" he says slyly. "You're stupid," I say rolling my eyes.

Tuesday

"Oh, they're here now" I say looking put the window. "Bye mom, bye dad. I'll be home at 10," I say grabbing my bag. I open the front door with my mom behind me and to my surprise, Ben is there.

"Hi tita," he says. "Hi, Ben" me and my mom reply. "Okay, lets go" I say slipping my shoes on. "Cool, your boyfriend is in the back," Ben jokes but obviously my mom doesn't know that. "What?" I say having a mini heart attack. "Hoy, what boyfriend?" My mom asks. "Mom he was joking!" I say quickly. "Look, nobody is even in the back its just Dani and her cousin." I add pointing to the front of the van. "No boyfriends until college," she says staring me down.

"Yes, I know. I don't even see myself getting married in the future anyways," I laugh. Ben looked confused when I said that which confused me as well. "Nah, yeah I was just joking," Ben says laughing trying to lighten up the mood. "Ah, well you guys go have fun," My mom says. "Kay, bye mom love you," I say before heading to Dani's Van which is really her mom's.

"You really were right about what you said about your mom," Ben says opening the door for me. "See, I told you," I say getting into the backseat with Ben following after me. "Yeah, my mom asked her mom one time if Jill had any boyfriends as small talk and her mom was like, 'Oh my god no!' Then Jill was like 'yeah...no.'" Dani adds.

"Speaking of which, why'd you say that you couldn't see yourself getting married in the future Jill?" Ben asks. "Uhm, well I mean I've thought about it definitely I just don't see it, I think whoever I would be interested in would hate me, therefore us not getting married." I say. "Hm, interesting." He replies

"What happened?" Will says from the driver's seat. It scared me a little when I heard him talk since I kinda forgot he was the one driving. "Ben told my mom that my 'boyfriend' was in the car, which was clearly not true," I say glaring at him. "But, I had to reassure my mom that there was no one in the car but you and Dani and then I told her that whole thing about not ever being married."

"Yeah, sorry about that and the whole question on marriage. I was being nosy," Ben says rubbing the back if his neck. "Oh, its fine," I reply with a small smile.

Ben's POV

"I don't even see myself getting married in the future anyways," Jill says. Really? Who wouldn't want to marry her, she's- Maybe I'll just ask her when we get in the van.

"I think whoever I would be interested in would hate me, therefore us not getting married." Jill replies when I ask her. I don't believe that that one dude who tried to kiss her was the only one who liked her?At the time I mean. Also, who would hate her? I mean I don't hate her. But that doesn't mean I like her right? Me liking her? No way.

A/N: OH MY GOSH THIS TOOK ME AGES TO WRITE WHAT THE HECK. Well it finally here and I kinda wanted to take a break to brainstorm which was a really long break lol. But, OMG FEELINGS ARE FLOATING AROUND BETWEEN BEN AND JILL AHAHAH. Also I hope next chapter turns out good, I have some things in mind.
